Lotusheart was prepared to teach her apprentice some battle moves.
"Ok, let us begin. I'm going to be teaching you some of the basics. We can start with a paw swipe or maybe a dodge, whichever you prefer." she explained.

Lotusheart thought for a minute.
"Well, you can dodge in many directions. The goal is to move away from an attack, using as little energy as possible. So I suggest we start with a side dodge. I'll aim a slow, weak punch at you and you have to move sideways away from it."

Lotusheart nodded in approval. She stood up and walked over to Mousepaw.
"OK, now I'm going to swipe at you slowly and you have to move away." she explained and lifted a paw. She swiped sideways, making sure to do It slowly and carefully.

Lotusheart was pleased by her apprentice's enthusiasm. She lifted her paw and sent a faster swipe at Mousepaw, one that resembled a real attack a little more.
