briarcloud watched as cinderpaw stalked up to the two cats. she still hadn’t moved. there was no need; she barely knew any of these cats. the apprentice next to her stood up and walked over. she watched as he aimed to grab the kit by its scruff. the apprentice was so much bigger than the kit; it almost looked silly given how furious the little one was. briarcloud was about to turn away when she heard the cat address her. she stared at him evenly for a moment before looking at the kit one more time and smiling gently. “sure. he looks dangerous. you might need some help.” her voice was dry but kind.
the young apprentice was only six moons old yet he was nothing less than a beast. a low growl warned the kit to stay still. stop moving and claw all you wish. ive fought better battles than your small claws could start. he spat. he smiled as the other cat joined him.
( i think we can move this to the nursery now )

once they got inside of the nursery they dropped the kit in a abandoned nest. his eyes cold yet saddened, when he was a kit he was just as bad. shaking out his fur he glanced around the place that held some memories that he'd wish he could forget. but for now all he could do was make sure this kit understood some things. sucking in a breath he spoke the words of a friend who had died long ago. frogkit listen up! i mean it. if you keep acting like this starclan wont forgive you do you understand!? you'll end up in the darkforest! the worst place possible. he gritted his teeth and forced the harsher words down. keeping a steady voice he kept going. please try to do better. i lost somebody importaint to me because i acted like a fool and i paid the price, dont be like me. fix your problems now. if you apologize to alderstep tomarrow i promise to come back and give you a tour around camp on my back. he added
Ooh, there was the headache coming on. She swallowed the urge to lash at Ghostpaw's excusing of his mentor, instead taking a deep breath. "There's a difference, between not doing good with kits and threatening to kill them." She hissed, her words now sounding more pained than angry. Nevertheless, she shot a grateful glance at the apprentice and warrior whisking Frogkit away to the nursery - one less danger for the kid to deal with. Good. She'd, uh... have to talk to him and Sparrowstar later.
Turning back to Alderstep, the anger in her gaze seemed to flare up to eleven again. "It is my business when kits are being threatened. Pretending it's not is what led to several apprentices and kits being slaughtered. Makes sense the world's forgetting about all th-that, huh?" A dry laugh escaped her mouth, voice quivering - with rage or sorrow, Cinderpaw didn't know. "He is a kitten. What the hell could he kill? Please, tell me about how Redfur's kit should have made Roseraven go crack right back. Tell me."
She hovered closer and closer to the tom, slowly herding him towards the camp entrance. "Go lick your wounds like the cowardly m-mutt you are. If you know what's good for you, I never want to hear a word out of your sorry mouth again."

Frogkit nodded slowly. ¨Frogkit is sowwy Ghostiepaw...Frogkit just wanted to be a big strong warrior.¨ He said, looking up with a sad expression. ¨Frogkit asks what did you do?¨ He asked, looking down.
The black and white kit peeked up at the 2 she-cats with her green eyes shining in the dark "Um... Thank you but I- I'm fine mamma will be back" the kit mewed hopefully letting another shiver rack over her. Despite her long thick coat she was always extremely sensitive to the cold.
"Thats fine dear." She said. "Ill just flick my tail over you, okay?" She said, flicking her tail over the kitten to comfort her.
briarcloud trotted in after ghostpaw, moving around to his side and listening to him meow to frogkit urgently. one of her ears flicked as ghostpaw mentioned something he had done in the past. how ominous, briarcloud thought. i’m so scared, i’m shaking.
briarcloud, of course, was not shaking and in fact was staying perfectly still. she wished she could giggle out loud to her own thoughts, but doing that in the middle of the nursery right after ghostpaw had shared something personal would’ve been a little strange. instead, briarcloud stared evenly at ghostpaw, waiting for his response to the kit’s inquiry.
the story of his sin..was not for the ears of a litte kit. shifting his gaze to the ceiling he thought of a lie. ah, yes this will do..nicely. its ok for me to lie right? i think they'll forgive me for this sin. however his mood was killed when he glanced at the cat behind him..she wanted to laugh. how did he know? hell, he was gifted with the ability to feel the emotions of of other cats. curse this thing called empathy. i simply led a clan mate to their death due to a rash choice. he woulnt openly admit he himself had killed the other cat but this lie would work on the kit

¨No you did not! Frogkit says thats a lie!¨ He screamed, looking him in the eye. ¨Tell Frogkit the truth right now!¨ He said, turning to face the other warrior. ¨And you! Stop laughing!¨ He hissed.
