The small apprentice's paw was nowhere near his head and Wolffang easily backed away, causing the blow to completely miss. A small flare of annoyance rose in his chest. "That was just meant to be an example," he meowed, his voice sounding strong yet a bit annoyed. "Any regular apprentice would know that. However, that was a fairly good dodge; however, if my claws had been out, they would've slid through your chest fur and maybe caused a bit of bleeding." He padded a bit closer to her. "Now, try that on me. I won't flinch; I just want to see how strong your blow is."

"But so you can ask her?" Cypresskit looks up hopefully at Nightleaf. (She's really adorable when she does this and it's that kind of hopeful attitude that you would just feel terrible to crush)

Oh, I'm sorry. Thornpaw mewed quickly, and nodded to his assessment of the damage his blow COULD have caused. At his order to try it on him, she swung her paw at his chest as hard as she could. She didn't think she would hurt him or anything. @TheNyanCatMinecart

Wolffang felt the apprentice's paw smack across his broad chest and his ear twitched in the faintest wince. The blow wasn't that good, but at the same time, his fur was thick and his body was lithe and muscled. "That blow was weak, but would've done a bit more damage with claws," he told her. "Try to strike a bit harder, toward the center of the chest, where it would hurt the most. However, still keep your claws sheathed."

Nightleaf sighed. "I couldn't tell you. I don't know why she's keeping a secret, but that's for her to know." Maybe it's because he's a bad father. At least I know Blackfeather will take care of me and the kits. @Radiantshine

Cypresskit gazes down at her paws. Who was her father? She needed to find Wishpool. Surely Wishpool would want her to know her own father! He couldn't be a bad cat. He was her father!
