Mistycloud [She/Her]

Mistycloud padded across the Riverclan territory until she approached the Windclan border, but did not cross it. She was hoping a patrol would go by soon. The white warrior wanted to ask Fallownose and Twilightstar if she could join the clan.

The breeze occasionally shook her pelt but it didn't help against the relentless summer heat.

After all the cats he had gathered for the patrol showed up Fallownose led them out of camp and toward Sedgewater Valley. "I know patrols were sent out while we were in the Warren, but we still should make sure the scent markers are strong. Don't want RiverClan to think we can't protect our territory," he said, brushing his pelt along a bush to mark his scent.

The deputy was quickly distracted, though, by the strong scent of RiverClan further down the border. He signaled with his patrol for them to stay alert as he made his way toward the cat who had waited. They didn't seem to be a threat, and Fallownose thought he knew them from somewhere...

"Greetings. You are the one who helped me pull Briarpaw from the lake, right? I never had the chance to thank your properly for that or get your name."

Fallownose waited a moment for her to respond before asking the question that he had originally intended to ask. "So, what are you doing so close to the border?"

Peachfrost did not speak when Fallownose led the patrol towards a waiting cat on the border, nor did she openly show any signs of aggression. She'd learned her lesson from her visit with Shadowclan that even something as small as a tail lash would end up with her toes getting chomped. This cat doesn't have any kits with her does she? Probably best not to find out.

She shot the others a dubious look, but said nothing. While she wasn't a fan of this cat sitting so close to Windclan territory... she wasn't breaking any rules. In fact she was doing everything right. Once in a blue moon I suppose the fish have a brain.

"Fallow if you want I can take someone to go mark the border while you deal with... this." A narrowed glare Mistycloud's way. "Wouldn't want any strays wandering in our territory."

Cardinalpaw

Apparently there was some new cat waiting for them at the border, someone she hadn't seen or heard of before. Still, Fallownose seemed to know them, so she supposed it wasn't some big issue. Cardinalpaw stared at the newcomer, taking her scent to be a sign that she was a Riverclanner. How interesting. They didn't move forward as Fallownose began to speak, instead tilting their head to listen from where she was. Oh. Her denmate who had fallen to the lake and died was the common thread, both attempting to save her. Quite a disappointing way to meet someone.

They found that Peachfrost seemed rather hostile to the new cat, but they supposed that wasn't to abnnormal. Mistycloud was quite close to border. Turning to the older warrior, they nodded. I'll come too.

Wheattail nodded as Cardinalpaw and Peachfrost went off. With a small sigh the she-cat looked at Fallownose, waiting for a signal to do something, keeping his guard Wheattail narrowed his eyes, looking at the cats across the border. Well....they weren't doing anything but they were a bit to close for comfort. Clawing the grass with his unnaturally long claws out of boredom and solemn warning. Wheattail kept his eyes on the Riverclanners, though his gaze kept switching to Fallownose, waiting for something to be announced or signaled. With a small sigh he let out a small mew to Fallownose, question in his tone as he whispered. "Should I stay or go with the others?"

JUST A REMINDER NOBODY IN THE CLAN KNOWS THAT WHEATTAIL IS A MALE!!! EVERYBODY PLEASE REFER TO HIM AS A FEMALE.
ASK ME IN VM IF U WANT UR CAT TO PERSONALLY KNOW THIS INFO.

Mistycloud nodded at Fallownose and ignored the hostility of the other Windclanners

"Greetings Fallownose, I'm Mistycloud and yes I did help you pull out Briarpaw." the white warrior mewed in response. She was going to be straightforward and calm so she doesn't seem hostile.

"I would like to know if I could join Windclan," Mistycloud said as her eyes swept across Fallownose. The breeze swept through her pelt as she remained on her side of the border.

Beansprout
RiverClan Leader

His patrol was quick to come together, and Beansprout wasted no time in heading out. Something felt off in his gut. He wasn't sure why, today of all days, he felt he needed to check the border activity, but some nagging feeling wouldn't go away until he did. When the siamese and his patrol arrived, Beansprout himself mostly expected a quiet border that needed a bit of sniffing around. What he didn't expect to stumble across was a WindClan patrol, headed by Fallownose, WindClan's deputy. He also didn't expect to see Mistycloud, and to hear the words "join WindClan".

Rightfully upset, Beansprout yowled to interrupt. "Hey, wait a second!" he called before making his way quickly toward the crowd of cats. "Mistycloud, what--?" The poor siamese was confused, stunned, and just a tiny bit hurt. "Why-- If things weren't working out, you could've let me know--? I would have thought you had gone missing?? Why didn't you talk to me??" Beansprout thought he was a pretty decently reasonable cat -- if Mistycloud had her sights set of WindClan, he wouldn't have stopped her. It just... stung a little bit that she hadn't thought to talk to him.

He opted to ignore the WindClan patrol for now, flicking his tail back and forth. Instinctively, he looked back at Wormbite for support, even though the blind cat obviously couldn't see. The nagging feeling in his gut that something was wrong had been correct, it seemed.

Birdpaw

The ragdoll padded over to the border with Sharpwhisker. Mushroomfoot had never arrived, but she had decided to just get this patrol moving so they didn't get in trouble later. "You mark that half, and I'll mark this half. We can meet back when we're done, kay?" She smiled at the warrior, and if there weren't any complaints, she'd pad to the border and start marking it.

[ ahhh just found out that I won't be here the 12-16th so i had them move along! don't forget to report at the end, I think we can knock this patrol out in a few posts so Galaxy, you can have your character report in sometime tomorrow, ideally! @*Galaxy_Cats* @Speckear]

Wormbite followed closely behind Beansprout, slinking through the shadows with a practiced swiftness. Paws stepping lightly and always moving a bit ahead to ensure he did not falter in his steps. Misshaped ears alert, something uneasy rested in his stomach. Perhaps it was because Beansprout of all cats was.

Breaking through the undergrowth, the Dark Lord was surprised the scene they came upon. Eyebrows beginning to furrow together to form a crease, his nose twitching at the scents. WindClan. Fallownose -- WindClan's deputy was easier to pick out, the others were not. One was familiar, but he couldn't place his nose on it. He knew Mistyheart, naturally.

A low growl started build up in his throat, moving to stand beside Beansprout; almost protectively. Wormbite had no pleasantries to share with the clan of rabbits, they were tolerable, but after breaking their alliance - he found them more of a pest than anything. "The hell?" He hissed, the short furs on his back beginning to rise. This situation felt similar. It felt all too similar.

"What? Have you lost your mind, Mistyheart? Turning traitor? For a clan full of passive bunnies and mousehearts?" He inquired, disguise dripping from there tone. "Things turned hard and you just decided you were not cut out for it? Take the easier clan life?" That had to be the case, he decided. He didn't know why, but if Fawnspring had been willingly to go with that excuse, who knew!

Wormbite stood tall, towering over those near him. How could one spend their whole life in RiverClan and simply decide to change sides? After everything?

KESTRELPAW

The gray apprentice wasn't exactly sure a 'bad feeling' could be classified as a reason to be snooping around a border. Then again, perhaps the regular patrols could be counted as a mutual snooping of sorts.

Though, Kestrelpaw had a particularly bad feeling about this. One did not simply go on a secret extra stealth mission and not get the heebie-jeebies in the middle of it. Part of her really just wished Beansprour would turn around and say that nothing was wrong, and they should all go back home, yes yes.

But of course, where was the fun in that? Kestrelpaw gave Mistycloud a frowny look, as if trying to convey her displeasure. The gears in her mind spun; Mistycloud was done with Tiverxlan, and wanted to join Windclan. Far enough. But she really couldn't have chosen a better time? With the potential fire warning, it would be like getting stuck in a tree.

Okay, maybe not a tree. More like... an open clearing in the middle of the woods.

But that was besides that point. Beansprout tried to address Mistycloud, his confused and hurt tone so very clear. That made Kestrelpaw want to scowl. Why couldn't he just accept it? Cats left, and that was okay. Don't expect everyone to go to you to talk about heir problems. Things just happened.

Wormbite hissed and yelled, which made the young molly's fur stand on small end as she gave another pointed frown. Traitor? Yes, the apprentice could understand saying that, but maybe Mistycloud was just trying to look for a better life. Wasn't that a legitimate concern? A need maybe, over a want? Clans weren't a stick-through-it-together-thick-and-thin, through and through situation. Cats left all the time. Some came back, some did. She never heard of cats calling missing clanmates traitors. So, what changes? A rivalry? Some broken alliance? Kestrelpaw didn't know; maybe Nightspark could help her.

And as they waited for Mistycloud's answer, Kestrelpaw looked up and tried to count the cats. Four, five? Did Mistycloud count? She recognized Fallownose, but no one else.
