The dark-skinned program leaving Mara's side cautiously approached the firewall, lifting his holographic, green-blue eye guard.

"You... said you needed your lights checked?"
"Lights, and weapons." Chris didn't look back. He stayed looking forward. Chris asked how much it would be for a tune up. As a firewall solider... he was a bit nicer then most. Most would derezz you. But Chris held himself back. Like he always did. Chris turned around to Zed. "Like I said, lights and weapons." Chris wasn't very patient when it came to matters like this. He wanted it to quick and easy. Or he'll do it the hard way. Either way, it will happen.

Zed rolled his eyes, but didn't complain. These requests were beginning to weigh on him. "Alright then... I'll see what I can do."

Weapons... the last time he'd worked on a lightcycle weapon, it had been a deadly result. At least it would have been... had the mod been used. It would have stopped the Renegade once and for all, had he followed through on its presentation to cmdR_Paige. Mara had convinced him that it was the wrong thing to do. Nevertheless, he retained his ill will towards the Renegade.

He ran a quick diagnostic scan over the lightcycle's schematics. A little wear and tear, nothing serious. Only two light ports had been damaged, and all that would require was a little re-soldering. The firewall's light trail seemed fine. Standard make. Granted, "standard" for CLU's army meant the bleeding edge of technology, but thankfully, Zed was no stranger to the newer models.

He'd designed his own bike from scratch, before. Twice. (The Renegade had stolen the first.) It ended up being 30% faster than Argon's standard models, almost a revolutionary step forward in Argon tech. Secretly he hoped the idea never became marketed, as it would leave him the only program to own something as powerful as that.

[i'm not watching beck's beginning at all-]

Chris nodded in response. He walked over to his bike to see how progress was getting made. It wasn't as fast as he wanted it to be, but it will suffice. He walked around the garage. Chris didn't see many workers. At the Games most likely. He didn't say anything. He walked back to the entrance. His mind went back to Amber. Amber ran away... but why? Why did she have to run away? Why? The word "why" was always on his mind. He tried to take his mind off of it by going to his bike. He did see progress getting made. Slow, but still, progress. He had needed a check up for some time

"So... why here? Do you guys just not like the other garages?" Zed half-heartedly remarked. It was slightly a trick question, since there were no other garages in Argon that worked with the Occupation. The nearest shop was a good cycle's drive away.

"I prefer it. What's it to you?" Chris looked down at him. He questioned Zed. He asked how long Zed was working here. He made sure he had enough time for the check up and the report. Chris also pulled out a small note sheet. He jotted down a few notes. He then put the note sheet back. He also took one last look around before returning to his bike.

"Longer than basically every program in this garage, with the exception of my boss, Able, and my friends Mara and Beck. And I was just asking, okay? I thought most programs liked to talk... eh, I'm an introvert; what do I know?" The last part of his sentence was an irritated mutter.

He slid out from under the bike and closed up the schematics, then retracted the vehicle into baton form. "There; it's finished. Oh, and by the way, enjoy the fact that your tune-ups are free since you work for the Occupation." He called over his shoulder, leaving to check on the progress of his coworkers.

[chris is a paying customer]

Chris put a hand Zed's shoulder. "How much is it?" Chris pays. He isn't like all the other soldiers. He put his baton in his pocket and asked again how much was the repair. Chris knew he didn't have much time left until he had to report back to Pavel, but he would pay. He pulled out some bits. He didn't know how much it would be.

(I'm finna invent a currency because it fills so many world gaps)

"I-I..." the dark-skinned program flinched a bit at the gesture. He was used to being shoved around. And when you were all skin and bones like he was, being shoved around hurt pretty badly. "Just 100 microcredits." Zed was afraid to ask for more, though he knew the garage needed it.

[Bits are a currency in TRON-]

Chris seemed a bit confused. "What do you mean?" He had a confused face. "And I know that's not how much I own you." Chris knew that he was lieing.

(Oops, ain't that funny I forgot?)

"Fine. Five-hundred bits," Zed sighed exasperatedly. He was never good at hiding his true intentions. "And that's the final price." he folded his arms, pained dark eyes narrow. He was surprised at this officer's kindness. None of them had ever acted the way this guy did.
