Roosterflame heard Thrushf-star’s- well, most likely it was Thrushstar now. Though… until proven correct, Roosterflame would continue to think of him as Thrushfur, as the thought of him having his leader name… it threw Sparrowstar being gone back at him, and the slowly clotting figurative wound in Roosterflame’s heart began to twinge.
Oh dear, his train of thought had fallen straight away. He’d gotten sidetracked by thoughts of name changes and his missing friend.
Anyway, Roosterflame heard Thrushfur’s call over the usual din and chatter of the camp, and he forced himself to his paws and made his way to the Thunderwillow. He was excited. This was obviously going to be the meeting where Thrushfur announced a deputy. It had to be… right? He took a seat near the front, eyes shining with excitement. Who would it be?
As Roosterflame turned his face upwards, he inhaled sharply. The sight of Thrushfur standing where Sparrowstar had stood was an unwelcome assault on his eyeballs. It wasn’t because Thrushfur was ugly or anything, of course. Roosterflame actually thought the tom was a very nice looking, put together cat. No, it was because it solidified Sparrowstar being gone in a way even the renaming of Thrushfur couldn’t. Sparrowstar was gone. And Thrushfur was here to take her place.
Still, he made sure to keep from frowning. Thrushfur had basically appointed Roosterflame as a Keeper in that den meeting, and Roosterflame didn’t want Thrushfur to think he was upset with him. Roosterflame actually quite liked the new leader. He was certainly a different cat from Sparrowstar, but Roosterflame looked forward to working with him as a Keeper. (Though… it would have been more fun to be a Keeper under Sparrow, as she was Roosterflame’s best friend, if that hadn’t already been asserted. Best. Friend. nothing less, nothing… nothing… YEAH, nothing less. Yeah. Mhm.)
Speaking of him being a Keeper now, he supposed that that would be announced today… hm. That would fun, he decided.

As the Clan began to gather, Fireflykit at last left the safety of her nest behind the warrior's den, and padded timidly over to the foot of the Thunderwillow. Seeing Thrushfur there was an unwelcome sight, and she let out a soft, despairing moan. Sparrowstar's absence felt like a ton of stones latched to her chest, weighing her down and threatening to crush her heart. She didn't see Aster anywhere- she hadn't seen the warrior for a while and was starting to worry that the nice cat had just taken of her for the time, and didn't actually mean that she would never be alone again. The scrawny tortoiseshell didn't like being alone though, she had been feeling the absence of an older figure in her life for a long time now, and she spotted Sparrowstar's friend. Chickencat.
Quickly finding her way over, the golden flecked kid uncertainly sat down next to Roosterflame, looking up at him with wide yellow eyes, trying to gauge his reaction. "'m okay?" She choked out, trying to seek permission to be his meeting buddy for the day. The second it even seemed like he would say now, she would begin her retreat, not wanting to soil his day.
Ospreypaw, Daisykit and Cranberryfrog flopped onto the ground.

Her ear immediately perked up to the sound of Thrushfur, or rather Thrushstar calling out for a clan meeting, her bright baby-blue eyes directing upwards to meet his direction. Had he been officially made a leader by now? Well, he already was leader, her mind argued, but did he earn his nine lives? Her scrambled mind puzzled, but she had decided not to question it. It made her feel a bit guilty just to think of the question. Frantically, the young molly pranced herself over towards the Thunderwillow, head dipped and paws swaying. She placed herself in a spot that strayed away from most of the other cats in her clan. It wasn’t that she disliked them, she just didn’t want to intrude with their business.

Moonspot was padding back to the entrence carefully along with Leafkit. watching leafkit carefully as they held a fish in their mouth high and poudly. she sighed softly as her mind started to worry abit about the days they spent on their hunting trip. she really didnt mean to stay out for a long time like that, but Leafkit insisted on staying out and camping a few days close to the water. but to her it felt like a week had gone by more then a few days. but she didnt want to just let her kit wander out on their own, not after the scolding all the queens had got last time by the forever queen.
her mind began to think of how much she was gonna get scoled or questioned for the amount of time they were away. she didnt want to make it seem she was not loyal to her clan. the taim really had got away from her on that trip. she will just have to try her best on explaining the situation. as they made their way into the entrence she then used her tail to stop Leafkit. Leafkit then sat down beside Moonspot and smiled abit. Moonspot smiled to her kit then waited to see who will come to greet them.
Sootfur perked up his ears at Thrushfur's ears. A clan meeting? Oh stars, I hope he has chosen our deputy! So much time had passed already since Sparrowstar's disappearance, and Sootfur couldn't wait anymore to know who the next deputy would be. "Flameheart!" He called her mate excitedly, inviting her to sit with him with a flick of his tail.
After seeing that Thrushfur- or... Thrushstar, as he should be now, had returned from the Starcave, Flameheart was excited to see who would become the new deputy, what new changes would be implemented, and she silently hoped that there would be some promotions from apprenticeship to warriorhood, but that was probably unlikely. Eh. We still have lots of warriors, we'll be fine until the next meeting or the meeting after.
Glancing at her mate, her lovely Sootfur, Flameheart chuckled and padded over to the gray tabby to claim the spot he had so sweetly saved for her. "Thank you, tweety." she purred and curled her tail around him. Even though it was getting warmer in the forest, having her tail touch her mate's fur retained that closeness the pair shared. "Are you excited for this meeting?"

Cherryrain took several deep sighs, before locking eyes with Thrushfur. "A tree. It crushed Raypaw. And I need a patrol in order to help lift the branch. So that a proper ceremony can be arranged," she said numbly. The image of Raypaw's dead body flashed through her mind and she sharply inhaled. Ack. Dead... Another one dead.
He shook his head, brushing aside how close she came to tripping over Duckkkit. He grimaced as he listened to the queen, feeling that the number of cats who perished in Thunderclan was far too large. What caused so many cats to die in such a short period of time? Why couldn't Thunderclan protect those who were in danger? "I'll begin a proper ceremony for Raypaw. If I could get further information about where Raypaw was crushed by a tree in our territory, that would be great. Thunderclan youth have been suffering for far too long. If this keeps happening, I'll need to do more to defend our cats in Thunderclan."
Having groomed his fur nice and clean, just like Mama had taught him, the young grey-blue tom entered the den. Little white paws fitting into the molded steps of former leaders, he took a look around the den. A memory flashed in his mind; being in here, playing, with Sparrowstar. He felt hot tears flood his green eyes as he remembered that. He looked around, hoping the nest he had made was still in here. Would Thrushbirdman let him sleep in here too, like Sparrow had?
He took a breath before seating himself. "Mr Thrush. I'd like to make a request, for my apprentice ceremony." This is the most serious that this kit had ever sounded.
Thrushstar, who was lying there peacefully, looked over his den. The faint reflection of feathers that peaked out can be seen in his feather fur, despite it being withered and unclean. His eyes were closed as he was combed by the wind. Awaiting more visitors in his den. His ears pricked up, and he raised his head to see a gray and white kitten enter his lair. Galekit, that's who. Despite his keen vision, he was skeptical when he noticed a faint blush red color around the kit's eyes.In response, his ears curved. To meet him, the kit did a fantastic job of tidying himself. The classes appeared to be operating smoothly. He raised an eyebrow as his blue eyes glazed over Galekits form. "A request about your apprentice ceremony? Go ahead, ask away Galekit."

It felt pathetic, but if Cinderpaw did it, why not them? Really, really. Asterdance had reasons, valid reasons, it wasn't their fault they were.. messed up. They were,, they were trying here. Trying to keep up with Thunderclan even with Sparrowstar's disappearance and this sick, ugly, cruel feeling that was curling around their heart once more.
...
With a deep sigh, Asterdance trotted into Thrushfur's den - at the very least, entered just a bit to pop their head in. They didn't want to enter fully, actually that was why they were here. "Aayyy.. Thrushy, Thrushman, Birdie, Bro, okay, uh, got a little, thing to ask? I mean, not a serious thing - seriously, you can think on it just, youu knoww... Mee..... was thinkin' about, things. " They licked their lips nervously.
"C..could I uh, move my nest outside? Like, I was thinking I could sleep by the camp entrance and be like, a cool night guard or something. I dunno, it's just, and don't laugh but, I can't.. sleep.. in the dens, " Asterdance took in a sharp breath,"makes me sick to my stomach, gives me the jitters. Considering Cinderpaw already sleeps outside tooo andd, I've.. just been sleeepinngg on the floor, I just..figured.. might be... useful and... betterr..more productive, " They finished, lifting their gaze to look at Thrushfur's mouth.
Thrushstar was inspecting the shiny pebble-like buds on his toe beans. Their adorable cherry pink color. His fur stood on end, indicating that there was a presence nearby. His whiskers twitched, and his eyes darted around the entrance to his den. Is anyone going to enter? He blinked for a few moments, waiting for someone to arise. Maybe not- Oh Asterdance. He did catch a glimpse of the brown cat's fur from the corner of his eye. But he had no idea it would be Asterdance. He was perplexed as to why they only peered in from the neck up. Were they that nervous? Were they not at ease enough to enter with their entire body? Ah. And it seemed like Thunderclan had a habit of giving him nicknames or more honorific titles. He didn't mind at all. "Mm." He hummed patiently as he awaited the explanation for their arrival. Sleeping outside? By the camp's main entrance? "You want to sleep outside, hm? There is no reason not to. But, if a severe weather event were to occur, I would advise you to seek shelter; I don't want to have to pack Sundust with sick cats in case of being blanketed in snow and contracting greencough. But you can, and I'd be delighted to have you as Thunderclan's special nightguard."
Truthfully, it was getting boring. They were shuffling from leader to leader, each one proclaiming to be more successful and better than the last. To try, to give effort, to care. He was giving whoever decided to be in charge on more chance, only one. He had been forgiving, in the past. He'd only killed one who claimed they would be better. Even after that, they were all let downs and dissapointments. The Clan members kept blindly following fool after fool and he swore his blood would boil each and every time.
If he was unable to hold them accountable as a Warrior, than he would hold his claw to their throat as whatever the next step up was. He didn't care what it takes, didn't care how to go about it. Words bowled over as he gave warning after warning, threat after threat. Killing Dogbark was like a breath of fresh air, one less self proclaimed savior to bring ThunderClan back to its glory days.
This feline will either step up, or get knocked down. Icy hues locked onto the den as he made his way into the domain, head poking in. "We need to talk." he said, ears perked forwards as he slunk farther into the den.
He cleared his throat because he felt it was a little dry. He licked his teeth, his eyes waltzing over towards Spiderthroat. But he was surprised to see the warrior looming over him. He had already experienced being shorter than everyone else; perhaps he was getting smaller by the day. He couldn't bear the thought of shrinking. He turned his gaze to the cream and brown calico. He sighed, feeling Spiderthroat's icy gaze on him. "Yes, what is it that you need to talk about Spiderthroat?"
Here I am. Here again.
Sootfur had waited a little bit for Thrushfur to settle in a few matters before approaching his den, waiting to be received inside as he was ordered just before leaving the Seastones. "Thrushfur, may I enter?" He asked, peeking inside with his silver eyes from outside.
Oh Starclan, please don't put me in trouble again! He only knew the problem was about Dawnpaw's situation, but why wasn't Cinderpaw being called in as well? He hoped the Thunderclan leader would only ask for some explanation, because Sootfur wouldn't bear another reprimand so soon after the last one.
In all seriousness, Thrushstar needed to talk. He was not enraged; there was no reason to become agitated over such a trivial matter. That gathering was all about fighting, and he believed his warriors would be correct. But Dawnstar changed the story. Would he now believe Shadowclan or his own warriors? Both stories appeared to be true. Thunderclan went to such lengths to prove that Dawnpaw was on their side of the border and had been killed to become a trophy for their prized clan. He pondered for a long time, hearing Sootfurs voice by his entrance. "Yes, come in."
He propped his head, his face expressionless. He only needed to ask a few questions to clarify anything he was unsure about. "I noticed a few things after the gathering. Thunderclan had explained their fierce retorts to Shadowclan, claiming Dawnpaw was on our side of the border. Of course, after your explanation about you coming into my den a few days ago, you've said the exact same thing. But, in response to my previous question, Dawnstar stated that Dawnpaw was killed because he was on their side of the border. Arguably stating that one of her clan's and territory's rules was to kill any trespassing cats they considered to be Dawnpaw. Vixensnarl, one of their clanmates, took the kill. Now I'm not attempting to take sides. But my question is, which of the stories told at the gathering is true? Were Dawnpaw's remains on our side of the border? Or their side? There's nothing I can do if it's on their side. Unless we can change the way Dawnstar sets her border control rules, which will be difficult, she will continue to kill cats who cross her borders without mercy. Tell me, did you find Dawnpaws body on our side of the border? Or not?"
