Stretching languidly in the watery sunlight, Eaglepaw squinted up at the rolling clouds. Ugh, looked like more snow. Eaglepaw loved leafbare, since it meant her big fluffy coat kept her cozy, but she was definitely ready for newleaf. Maybe like the new growth that would blanket the land, so too would Eaglepaw turn over a new leaf. The thought brought a little hope to her tired bones, and she decided to loaf in a corner of camp and watch the happenings with sleepy eyes.

Seeing an apprentice sitting all by themselves Adderstrike trotted over with a soft smile before sitting down near them. "Hey Eaglepaw, how's your training going so far?" Speaking of which she needed to pester her apprentices about training.
The apprentice padded carefully out of the apprentice den and into the clearing, her pelt bristling against a breeze for a moment before she settled and found a nice spot to sit. Her tail curled around her paws, and she began to lick the fluff at her chest. Bored. That's what she was. Bored...

As he made his way back into the clearing where he’d chased Frostdawn from only a few moments ago, Duskleaf was still covered in a spray of the disgraced warrior’s blood, his paw still soaked. He hoped the stream would not be frozen, otherwise he’d have to sit and lick all this blood off, however upon a quick glance, he realised it was and made his way back into the clearing instead. Without even thinking, Duskleaf looked around for Irisdream, his fellow Lionheart and friend who he was becoming much closer to over time. In fact, she felt like more than a friend. Could it be…?
Duskleaf’s anger faded as he spotted Irisdream, though he realised explaining the reason he was covered in blood might be a good idea. "Irisdream?" He called to get her attention. "He’s dead; tried to steal herbs before he went." He sat down, licking his paw in an attempt to clean it.
@Luna16 (figured his natural first instinct after this would be to go to Iris!)

On his walk back, RowanMane calmed down a bit. Anger still bubbled in him, but he had a job to do. It didn’t seem that SunHeart got informed. Interesting. The Lionheart took a deep breath before approaching the new deputy. He dipped his head before he started speaking. “In case ya haven’ been informed, there was an incident earlier. I believe tha’ OwlStar has been informed already.” he started, before letting out a small sigh. “It started wit’ a warrior, Fros’Dawn…he was threatening a ki’. TalonPaw was there momentarily before me, then i’ became a whole situation. I asked him t’ follow me t’ Owls den…he refused. Startin’ a ruckus and headin’ t’ the medicine den. He said he was gonna kill his brother, a injured warrior. Nightweb n’ RedSurge were there, alon’ with two apprentices and the ki’ he threatened. Me n’ DuskLeaf sent ‘em away then Fros’Dawn ran…me n’ DuskLeaf followed him, bu’ before he lef’ he decided taking a flower- potentially precious herbs- from our territory…we gave ‘im plenty of warnin’s so DuskLeaf killed him. I took his body off our territory.”
Irisdream looked up and turned when she heard her name, feeling relief when she saw Duskleaf. Her chest tightened when she saw the blood, but she relaxed again when he explained what happened. “You did what you had to do.” She shuffled to sit closer to him, instinctively starting to clean some of the blood from his shoulder. “I’ll help you find new leaves.” She added between strokes, carefully starting to remove some of the leaves that got splattered with blood in the conflict.
The silvery she-cat paused for a moment, trying to catch Duskleaf’s gaze. Her own eyes widened with concern. “You’re okay though right? He didn’t hurt you?” If he was wounded, she’d be sure he got to Berryshine right away. She…she cared about him after all. It’s…it must be because he’s so much younger. I’m just being protective of a clanmate is all. Somehow though, part of her recognized that didn’t quite fit. Irisdream felt like she recognized this feeling…but she denied that part of herself firmly. It can’t be. She’d only ever felt remotely that way for Wavebreaker, although she never really had to chance to tell him. With a flick of her ear, she managed to mostly stifle the feeling from spreading across her face completely. Though she still looked at Duskleaf, waiting patiently for a response.

A familiar scent washed over her, and Eaglepaw cracked open an eye to look up at Adderstrike. "Oh!" She chirped, tucking her paws further under herself as a chilled air brushed pass. "Hey Adderstrike. Congrats on the name, by the way." She couldn't remember if Adderstrike had gotten their name before or after the raid, but regardless Eaglepaw hadn't congratulated her. "Training is good! Primroseadder finished up my water combat, so now I'm just waiting for my assessment." Her emerald eyes scanned the clearing lazily. "But I might need to ask myself." She chuckled sheepishly. "I'm not entirely sure how to go about it." In all honesty, Eaglepaw had been... avoiding her assessment. What if she failed? What if what Sparrow had taught her, along with the meager lessons from Fadingstar, wasn't enough? Quickly shaking herself out of the funk, Eaglepaw curled her tail around her side. "How's warrior life?"

Sunheart looked annoyed and disgusted as Rowanmane spoke. "A warrior threatening a child?" He echoed incredulously. "Good, we need less of him." The deputy mewed coldly, eyes narrowing. What was going on with RiverClan lately? Whatever, as long as it was being squished. What kind of warrior threatens a child? Stars..."Thank you, Rowanmane." He paused, expression friendly once more. "It's good to have you back on the team."
