Whisperingpaw exhaled calmly as she finished her meal, taking time to clean her whiskers and face before disposing of the bones properly. She hadn't seen Streampaw in some time now...she hoped he was okay. She hadn't realized how much she treasured his company until he was gone...it had been enough for a while to make training as a warrior feel more...fulfilling. But now, she was alone with her thoughts yet again. And she hated this feeling. Whispy hadn't seen much of her mentor since her ceremony either, so there wasn't much by way of training to distract her. She gleamed what she could from events and things happening around her, but as the she-cat watched her clanmates go about their business she found herself longing for the surety they had in their pawsteps. Most of them seemed to at least know that the path they were on was their's, she couldn't even say that much. Whispy let out a sigh, sitting as she observed her clanmates quietly. Not much use in pushing the thoughts away at this point, might as well sit with them.
*-_-*"I might not see the world as you but I'll tell you this, I am frost itself"*-_*
~~~ somehow...some h o w she managed to get out the nursery, she padded towards the smell of...something..it was warm and sweet, she tumbles into cold furry things and she sniffs. its not sweet like milk but she latches her teeth into whatever it is, she pulls on it and rips into a warm taste, of course it doesn't taste good and she is unable to eat whatever it is so she drops it. sniffing again. "ew...what is this...?" she blinks her cloudy eyes and sighs...she still cant see...? ~~~
(frostkit is blind, what she just ripped into and regretted was a mouse... shes open to be confronted for eating it...or trying to eat it.)
Berryshine stretched in the clearing, letting the sun shine on her short, dark pelt. Newleaf was on the horizon; she could practically smell it. Fresher breezes, warmer skies, and hopefully the reemergence of some beloved herbs she'd been vying for.
The medicine cat was just taking a leisurely walk around her home when the sight of Whisperingpaw caught her eye. The soft-spoken apprentice was a kit that Berry could remember helping deliver into the world several moons ago; she seemed sweet and kind, and had been an active participant in that recent first aid event that Berryshine had run.
Getting a nagging feeling that she should say hello—Whisperingpaw looked a little lonely and lost in thought at the moment—the herbalist found herself padding over, coming to sit nearby.
"Hi, Whisperingpaw," Berryshine mewed, her voice as light as the breeze as she dipped her head in greeting. She hoped her presence wouldn't startle the young she-cat. "How are you doing?" It was good to check in on her Clanmates, and besides, the apprentice looked like she could use some company.
Spottedfeet sat, paws neatly tucked beneath her, right outside the elder den. She yawned, resting her head on her paws. She thought about her younger days, although struggling to remember most of it. But, the little fragments she could think of made her softly purr.
Fogmask looked around, bored and wanting to talk. His eyes fell upon Spottedfeet, he didn't really talk to the elder that much, she was always busy with something else. But now, she seemed to be just sitting.
"Hello," he purred as he came to the elder, "my name is Fogmask. You're Spottedfeet, right?" He knew that was their name, but he was curious how they would respond. Plus, he wanted their attention.
"I just wanted to chat." Fogmask replied in a chipper voice. He looked around for a conversation topic. "I'm glad it's finally getting warmer!" He commented. "I can't wait for the river to be warm again!" He loved swimming, so this is where his mind always went. He couldn't help it.
Whisperingpaw blinked and looked up at the sound of approaching pawsteps, her eyes widening slightly when she saw Berryshine approaching. Did she do something wrong?? The pale gray she-cat dipped her head respectfully in return. “H-Hello Ms. Berryshine.” She mewed, unable to disguise the awe and excitement from her bright green eyes. She didn’t know why Berryshine was approaching her, it didn’t seem like she was in trouble or anything so…
She…she wants to know how I’m doing? Whispy blinked, this time in surprise. Did she…look that lonely? “O-Oh..I’m okay.” That…felt like a lie. And she didn’t like that. But what was she supposed to say? ‘I miss my friend and I’m having an existential crisis about my purpose’? Yeah. That’ll go over well.
The apprentice shuffled her paws timidly, wrapping her tail around them to try to hold them in place. “I’m…just lost in thought.” She admitted, feel a little less guilty about giving this explanation. “I have a…um…tendency to overthink things.” Like her reason for being. She glanced up at Berryshine bashfully, unsure of what other words to say. But then words just tumbled out of her mouth. “I-I um…I really loved the first aid course you had earlier.” She purred, gaze flickering from Berryshine to her paws.
“I really…like learning about the different herbs.” She explained with a soft, slightly flustered chuckle. “There’s so much! I-It’s truly amazing…how you remember all of it.” Okay Whispy, now you’re fangirling. She gave her chest a few licks to try and detract from her…silliness. Trying to calm her nerves some too.
