* .. Rainbowtail .. *
Elder {} Tom (Intersex) {} Tuxedo cat with orange patches and long tail {} Creative, Helpful, Kind
The elder stretched upright on his back legs outside the warriors den, arms reaching up to fiddle with something in the lichen hanging over the entrance. After he was done he leaned back on his haunches, and silently judged his work. 'Almost there.'
Rainbowtail's head swivelled to the side and he picked up another blue feather, his collected bundle containing only the brightest coloured feathers from his clanmate's prey. The tom was always thankful for their patience while he collected these beautiful decorations, even if they had to hold off their meal for a few moments longer than usual. But a sacrifice then was to bring benefits for later.
He made light work of the last feather, weaving lichen around it's fluffy base to avoid covering as much colour as possible. 'There. Much better!' The elder thought to himself, stepping back to collect the remaining feathers and admire the den's new entrance. The blues, silvers and yellows were spread out like stars, hopefully giving the warriors something to enjoy as they came back from their day of duties.

Yeah, that's me. Cloverspring. Nice to meet you!
Sprucekit loafed not too far from the warrior's den, doing her usual thing of watching the clan cats go about their day. She watched Rainbowtail as he decorated the warrior's den. It was interesting watching the elder work, but the idea of approaching to see if he needed help was intimidating. So she sat and stared. Definitely a normal kitten thing. Nothing weird at all.
no header / info cause I’m debating whether I should change it or not
— Fawnpaw had to admit, the feline was terribly bored. And, worst of all, the weather was finally nice. Why was it worse? Because she’d have to sit and waste such good weather with nothing to do. The black apprentice twitched uneasily at the thought - maybe she could do something. Popping out of the apprentices den, she made her way through the clearing. Maybe the apprentice could find another cat to talk to, even though she was terrible at socialising. Why am I bad at all the good traits? she thought, blinking out sleep from her blue eyes. Quietly, Fawnpaw walked towards the fresh-kill pile. She was slightly hungry, but hey, maybe she could find somecat she could talk with? Ah! She’d already found one! Shell..uh.. what was his name? Ah - Seapaw!
— The she-cat twitched her whiskers as she dipped her head to the ‘paw in greeting. “Shell…Seapaw,” she meowed.
Oh! He tilted his head as a cat called his name, and paused mid fish. Shell... Shell! He wasn't sure if the cat had simply forgotten their name, or maybe they spoke as kits - when his name was Shellkit? "That's me!" He smiled. "Used to be Shellpaw." They commented with a tail flicker. "Turns out there were two Shellpaws running round though." They explained with a slight sheepish laugh. "Maybe my warrior name'll be Seashell." They shrugged. Hm. Those were a lot of words from them - chatting seemed to be becoming easier again, they felt more like themself. Anyway - in all honesty, they didn't know this cat's name. Gosh, they didn't pay enough attention to the clan, did they? "I... Uh... I think I've forgotten your name... Sorry..." They looked away, embarrassed.
-- Fawnpaw dips her head, looking up again. So she had gotten his name right, but he was originally a Shell in kithood. Ah. The apprentice supresses a slight snort at his warrior name Hm, I guess It would be cool, she thinks as her tail swishes off the ground."Its Fawnpaw,"she corrects quietly but with a helpful smile."Its nothing to be ashamed of, everyone makes mistakes," she mews, sitting down.

"Fawnpaw," they nodded, with a smile. "Nice to meet you!" They took another bite of their fish - mmm. It was nice. "How are you doing today?" They asked with a head tilt. They tried to pose it as a genuine question - they did care. Surely they weren't the only apprentice who's life was a little upheaved by RiverClan's ongoings - so they made sure to check in with others. (Or maybe he was looking for validation in seeing someone feel the same as him, but that wasn't something he'd clue into.)
Whisperingpaw blinked and looked up at the sound of approaching pawsteps, her eyes widening slightly when she saw Berryshine approaching. Did she do something wrong?? The pale gray she-cat dipped her head respectfully in return. “H-Hello Ms. Berryshine.” She mewed, unable to disguise the awe and excitement from her bright green eyes. She didn’t know why Berryshine was approaching her, it didn’t seem like she was in trouble or anything so…
She…she wants to know how I’m doing? Whispy blinked, this time in surprise. Did she…look that lonely? “O-Oh..I’m okay.” That…felt like a lie. And she didn’t like that. But what was she supposed to say? ‘I miss my friend and I’m having an existential crisis about my purpose’? Yeah. That’ll go over well.
The apprentice shuffled her paws timidly, wrapping her tail around them to try to hold them in place. “I’m…just lost in thought.” She admitted, feel a little less guilty about giving this explanation. “I have a…um…tendency to overthink things.” Like her reason for being. She glanced up at Berryshine bashfully, unsure of what other words to say. But then words just tumbled out of her mouth. “I-I um…I really loved the first aid course you had earlier.” She purred, gaze flickering from Berryshine to her paws.
“I really…like learning about the different herbs.” She explained with a soft, slightly flustered chuckle. “There’s so much! I-It’s truly amazing…how you remember all of it.” Okay Whispy, now you’re fangirling. She gave her chest a few licks to try and detract from her…silliness. Trying to calm her nerves some too.
Berryshine nodded as Whisperingpaw said she was doing alright, though the medicine cat got the sense that there was at least something weighing on the apprentice's mind. She wouldn't pry, though the flicker of concern in her gaze was like a silent question.
Thankfully, Whisperingpaw seemed to keep going without too much of a push from Berryshine. Green eyes softened in empathy, nodding with a chuckle and a sigh. "I can relate to that," she mused, giving the apprentice a sympathetic flick of her tail. Overthinking could've been Berry's true medicine cat name, though she was glad it wasn't all of who she was. Sometimes thinking of every possibility paid off as a medic, when you had to get creative or consider all consequences... other times, it could be paralyzing. But she was working on it, day by day.
Berryshine did brighten, however, when the pale-coated apprentice went on to say she'd enjoyed the first aid course; the medicine cat purred, maw lifting into a small smile. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," she purred, sounding pleased. It was nice to get positive feedback; with the wealth of information that she had to remember and try to teach, the herbalist could only hope that she'd done an alright job. Even if only one cat had retained something, that was a good start.
The small brown molly could also sense how nervous Whisperingpaw was, and her heart ached — it reminded her of herself, in a way, and Berryshine didn't want the apprentice to feel nervous around her. Her voice was soft and warm as she spoke, giving Whisperingpaw a reassuring look. "I-It's by the grace of StarClan, really, that I'm able to. It's a h-hard job, I won't lie, but... very rewarding, too. To devote my life to h-healing my Clanmates, searching for new knowledge... it's something worthwhile. Besides, I do enjoy learning a-about herbs and remedies, believe it or not," she added with a faint chuckle. Not every cat was like that; it reminded her of someone like Salamanderpaw who'd looked absolutely bored when poking at the leaves.
"Speaking of... i-it's a lovely day. Newleaf is nearly here," the medicine cat mused, tilting up her head to glance at the sky. "I'll have to go for a quick trip and see i-if any new growth as surfaced; some of my stores are getting low." Her gaze lowered back down to Whisperingpaw with a soft smile. "If you're not busy, you're welcome to come with."

she has a semi-closed den policy.
Nodding at Owlstar as she approached, he looked back at Seabreeze both sympathetically and apprehensively. His tail tip twitched back and forth as their leader spoke. Honestly, he was happy that Berryshine was allowed to help at least a little bit- but it didn't mean that all would be forgiven. Former RiverClan or not- one just can't waltz into an unfamiliar camp and be unfamiliar themselves.
The deputy was torn- on the one hand, he felt pity for all that Cloverpaw had possibly been through to get here and Seabreeze's shock and grief, but on the other- he knew he couldn't rightfully punish any of the clan for attacking on sight, especially with the orders Owlstar had just recently given due to their previous outsider issue. Sunheart held Owlstar's gaze for a moment, trying to convey through his expression that he had reached an opinion but was waiting for hers as well. "What do you think?"
Not much longer after he got the question out, a quarrel broke out behind him. Stars, Talonpaw and Primroseadder were getting into it. Whipping around with his hackles raised, his fixed the pair with a sharp stare. "Primroseadder!" He practically barked, irritation flaring in his gaze. "And you as well, Talonpaw." It was taking everything in him not to roll his eyes. "You," He fixed his eyes onto Talonpaw. "You're well due to be a warrior! I expect more from you." He mewed sternly before turning his attention to Primroseadder. "And you are a warrior. Silly quarrels like this fill no bellies!" He said irritably. There had been enough fighting for one day.
Before he could say more, Primroseadder was going on a tangent, furthermore asking not to be exiled or demoted. "I'm not going to do either of those things." Sunheart gave an exasperated sigh, but it was clear the warrior wasn't doing well after Talonpaw's comments. "You- the apprentice's den. Now." He grunted to Talonpaw. Sunheart hated having to be so tough on his Clanmates, but even he knew the tom was getting off lightly still.
As Primroseadder ran off, he cast a frustrated glance around. He didn't have time to be chasing after her right now, and both of them were out of line. "Deerspark," He beckoned the warrior over with his tail. "Would you go make sure she's alright, please?"
Owlstar was greatly agitated by Primroseadder's outburst, finding her reaction terribly distasteful. Storming off like a kit of all cats, how pitiful. The option of demotion settled into her brain, but she pushed it aside, focusing on Talonpaw. She gave the older apprentice a look. "Talonpaw, hold on chap," She found herself mostly agreeing with Talonpaw. No matter how old Cloverpaw was, there was still an outsider in camp. Yes, frail and likely resurrected, but they didn't get a pass, much like anycat else didn't. "Ya 'ave yer head screwed on right, but ya gotta work on that temper a yers. I know ya got passion, but a bite can get ya in hot water. We ain't here ta start arguments where there should be an effort ta make order. Do as Sunheart said, 'ight? Settle yer dispute with Primroseadder once she's done screamin' like a banshee n' brought back ta camp." Owlstar didn't hate Talonpaw, far from it, but she'd admit, he could be rather opinionated. Not like that was a bad thing, but Owlstar had the goal of de-escalating the situation, not enhancing it, and useless arguments in the heat of a situation didn't help anything. Any bones he had to pick with anycat could be handled at a better and more appropriate time. She didn't think he was wrong, however.
The tabby then turned back to Sunheart, offering him an encouraging gaze. He'd asked for her opinion, and she'd surely give it. She could tell he was torn, and she understood that feeling, but Owlstar couldn't favor anycat. If anything, these dramatics made Owlstar opt that Cloverpaw not return for a few moons. "She won't be stayin'." Owlstar said evenly. "Her sudden appearance caused a reasonable amount a aggression. Lettin' 'er stay would just be whisy-washy. She's still an outsider, n' she's oughta be delt with." Owlstar watched as Berryshine loosely tended to Cloverpaw's wounds, her jaw taut. Owlstar had always carried a level of sympathy for younger cats, a feeling she'd had to swallow quite a bit in the recent moons.
Her one eyed gaze then turned to Seabreeze. She hadn't any siblings herself (or so she thought), so she couldn't imagine the grief he was going through, or the relief at seeing his kin again. She could only see it in the tensing of his expression, the pools of his eyes. Owlstar sighed. "That's my final decision. In fact, I'm bein' pretty lenient 'ere. She cain't stay, n' should wait at least a moon before she shows back up, at the border, n' requests ta join." her gaze wandered to Cloverpaw. "Even if she is thin, I cain't be spendin' prey on 'er. While leaf-bare is leavin' this forest, it's a slow transition." she offered Seabreeze a slow blink, sympathetic. "Squirt." she called out for Berryshine. "Is this gal 'ere al'ight ta stand?" she was aware the blood had stopped pouring, but she wanted to make sure Cloverpaw was at the very least cautious. The longer this cat stayed in camp, the thinner Owlstar's patience got.
(Hopefully I got everyone!! Sorry that this took me like ten eons BUYNIUJOI)
Sunheart's words cause the fur along Talonpaw's to rise in agitation. "Then give me my assessment," he snaps, ignoring the way Primroseadder races out of camp like a kit throwing a tantrum. The order to go to the apprentices' den is met with a sharp, blue-eyed glare, but Talonpaw turns to do as told until Owlstar stops him.
"She was the one who tried to chastise me for doing what you ordered. I'm not ever gonna sit there and let uppity warrior push me around. And if you expect me to say sorry to her, then you're gonna be waiting until you're in StarClan. I'm not apologizing for defending myself just because she's throwing a tantrum like a kit." With his piece said, Talonpaw stalks off to the apprentices' den, his tail lashing back and forth behind him in a clear display of his anger at the situation.
Berryshine nodded as Whisperingpaw said she was doing alright, though the medicine cat got the sense that there was at least something weighing on the apprentice's mind. She wouldn't pry, though the flicker of concern in her gaze was like a silent question.

"If you're not busy, you're welcome to come with."
Whisperingpaw immediately found herself smiling when Berryshine said she could relate. She could tell, from the look in the medic’s eyes, that she was speaking from the heart. And that brought out a purr from Whispy. “I tend to just…wonder. When I’m not keeping busy.” She felt…guilty saying too much more. Whispy knew that Berryshine was close to Cobwebstorm, she didn’t want to say anything to make the healer feel pressured in any kind of way about Whispy’s own issues. Or even feel guilty. Whispy didn’t even know if Berryshine was considering taking on another apprentice anytime soon, and she didn’t want to add any type of influence into the decision regardless.
Ugh. There she goes again. Thinking herself into circles. She was glad to see Berryshine brighten though, smiling at the sight. She didn’t want the healer fretting over her mental status. “I-It’s amazing! Truly, StarClan could not have gifted us a better healer.” She purred, shuffling her paws anxiously. “How…how did you know?” She murmured her questions gaze moving from her paws back up to Berryshine’s eyes. “How did you know to recognize StarClan’s call? That this is where you can best serve the clan?” She wants to protect them, she wants to serve RiverClan and StarClan however they need her. But…she had to know.
She giggled softly when Berryshine said she enjoyed learning about the herbs. “I would imagine so!” She mewed, purring in amusement. “It’s all so fascinating! Honestly I don’t know how others aren’t curious.” She confessed timidly. Watching Berryshine lead the event made her wonder…how did their ancestors figure all of this out? Who was the first? It must have been scary, not knowing if something would work or not. But all of that foundation led to the medicine cats being what they are today. Which brought them Berryshine. Everything with a design…with a path. But before she could once more wonder about her own path, Berryshine brought up an interesting proposition…
Whispy brightened immediately, ears erect as she sat straighter. It took restraint not to bounce to her paws in joy. One on one time? With Berryshine? Looking for herbs? It was a dream come true! “O-Of course!” Oof. Her voice cracked from her excitement. Embarrassed, Whispy gave her chest fur a few licks and cleared her throat softly. Trying to regain her composure. The pale gray she-cat dipped her head respectfully to Berryshine, but when she blinked up at the medic her eyes were still sparkling with excitement. “I would love to accompany you! I-If you don’t mind my company and help.” She practically bounced to her paws still, so much for decorum. But…she didn’t care. She was going to be spending time with Berryshine! Maybe see some new herbs and learn some new things!
Whispy moved to head off in her excitement, but then realized that she didn’t know where they were going. Laughing softly, flustered, she looked at Berryshine with an apologetic blink. “A-Are you ready? I’m g-good to go when you are!” She purred, her stammer sourced from her embarrassment, but her excitement not dulled in the least. This was a rare opportunity, and no matter where StarClan led her paws she was going to make the most of it!
