"Don't I know it." she replied bitterly, though mostly under her breath and towards herself. To say mentors 'could be stupid' felt like putting a childish sugar-coating. A mentor abandoning their apprentice, as it seemed they were wont to do, left an apprentice unualified at the least and dead at the worst.

Yewpaw nodded along through Creekdash's instructions and relayed them back to herself as she attempted to drop into a hunting crouch as she was told. Her crouch was a little unsteady but significantly cleaner than any previous attempt of hers. She looked towards Creekdash for further instruction and advice.

So it was real. She was finally becoming a warrior. For a moment she was hit with the shock and reeling dizziness of realization but resisted the urge to shake it off - that might be taken as a denial on her part - and let it pass on it's own. With a deep breath and a tight nod, she confirmed, "I do."

Yewpaw.. seemed like she had gone through similar things. Maybe mentors she loved disappearing without a trace, or something different. Well, she would have to put it behind her like he put them behind him. "Very good!" He praised, watching her hunters crouch. "Try to keep your balance centered, all even weight on your paws so that when you take off, your aren't lopsided." The two would get to hunting real quick after she took his instructions.

Disappointment wriggles in her belly for a heartbeat when she realizes that indeed, her mentor was nowhere to be seen. He won't see this, Elderpaw realizes. But she doesn't let this keep her down for long- Turning back to Twilightstar, she beams. "I do!"
