[ riverclan warrior | tomcat | 58 moons | gruff & battle-hardened, heart o’ gold; loyal to a fault ]
—
Stagheart had been grooming his fur after a meal when he saw Berryshine struggling to drag a body out of the warrior's den. Eyes widening, the large tabby tom rose to his paws and padded over, watching as his adoptive daughter began dressing a cat's body... Redsurge. His ears lowered. Similarly to Berryshine, he hadn't known her well personally, but any loss of a fellow loyal warrior was a loss to RiverClan.
Died in her sleep too, eh...? That was a strange concept that sort of unnerved Stagheart. He'd much rather go out in the heat of battle, dying a true warrior's death; to succumb to something so deadly, your own body failing you... well, it wasn't anything the tom would want for the day StarClan claimed him.
Shaking off the thoughts, he nodded his thanks to their medicine cat for her work in getting the warrior prepared for burial. He seemed to be the first to arrive, outside of those that'd found her. With a deep breath through his nose, Stagheart steeled himself and padded forward.
"May StarClan light yer path, Redsurge... I hope you find yer way to 'em," he wished quietly, doing the ceremonial lick to smooth down some of the warrior's fur. It already felt like it had cooled, whether from the brisk early-newleaf weather, or the fact that Redsurge might've been dead for awhile now. He took a step back when he was finished, coming to sit beside Berryshine in silence, his pelt lightly brushing hers for comfort.

Finally, FINALLY! Freedom from the nursery for the day! And, Bramblekit had a quest to complete! No more procrastination or politely waiting for a lionheart to be available. It was time for the little ball of ginger fur to get ready for his future as the commander of the Lionhearts! No one could stop him from defending the clan and leading the lionhearts to its future victories!
But, Bramblekit did start to realize that he had no idea how to make this goal happen. He knew he was considered too young, an argument he could have all day because he was definitely ready to fight anything or anyone to protect Riverclan! But, since no one would agree with him, he was still stuck in camp and needed some other ways to occupy his time and prove that he was the next best warrior in all the clans.
And there he was. Sure, Sunheart wasn't the Lionheart commander anymore, but he was before! At least, that's what Bramblekit had heard one of the queens say. The information he got from listening to the queens was surely accurate at all times.
With no regard, or, more accurately, awareness of what Sunheart may have been in the middle of doing, the kit bounced towards him as fast as his little paws could carry him. "Sunheart! Sunheart! Hi! I'm Bramblekit, and I'mm'onna lead Lionhearts, but I got questions! Can I ask 'em? I really gotta know!" The words spilled out so quickly that he forgot to breathe and gasped for breath as soon as he skidded to a stop in front of Sunheart.

Well, that wasn't so hard to figure out! If her dad tried it when he was her age, then Spiderpaw just needed to make it back out there to taste the strange water found on the beach. Certainly, she didn't need a professional the just taste something! Minnowrain seemed a bit hesitant on the idea to Spiderpaw.
"Like who?" The blue she-cat asked, not sure who would be the right cat to ask about the water oh Lionsbeach. Who was an expert on drinking water?

Minnowrain thought about it for a moment. "Well, just in case it is bad for you, maybe Berryshine." He said "But make sure you ask whenever she's not busy."
"I'm sure it's not that big of a deal though, I mean, I'm still kickin'"
She awkwardly shifted to the side as she looked at Tigermoth. Now that she looked closer, he seemed more mature and at ease then how he used to be. "Life has been good to me, nothing tragic or exciting has happened." Just how I like it. She thought to herself. She never liked having big events happen to her. Good nor bad. She would love it if everything stayed the same, but she knew life didn't work that way.
"How have you been? You seem a lot more mature."

Tigermoth laughed a little. "I'm not sure mature is the right word." He joked "I definitely enjoy shenanigans with my little sister."
"But, I have been good, I'm glad to hear you have too!" He then said.
Now if she means 'mature' by he grew out of that weird angsty face he had as an apprentice, he was absolutely going to pretend he didn't realize that.

Spiderpaw nodded. She might just go and taste the water, anyway. Her dad was right, after all. He still made it this far. Besides, Berryshine was a busy medicine cat. A small taste couldn't possibly hurt her. "Hm, okay. Maybe if Berryshine isn't too busy. If she is, then I guess the next time I go out there I might just see what it tastes like." She nodded along as though agreeing with herself.
"Oh, papa, can you teach me some things about hunting? We haven't gotten to it yet and I wanted to learn more! Why don't we just go hunting together?" She asked, growing excited at the thought of hunting with family and learning what to do. Sure, she got the tiny little basics as a kit, but she needed to know how to actually hunt!

Skullbrook raised her eyebrow. She remembered Tigermoth did have a sister, she'd just never seen the two together. Maybe it was because she barely paid attention to her surroundings when it didn't really matter. "Ah well, your little sister sounds like a wonderful cat to be around." Skullbrook said, her tail awkwardly swishing from side to side. She didn't mean to sound so creepy, but no use helping it now. You can't take back words you already said.
The conversation was starting to become so dull and awkward that her legs burned to do something. Maybe pace in circles until some older warrior yelled at her for being lazy. "You know, I think we should do something to help the clan, how about hunting? Your still good at that, yes?" Honestly it's been so long since the two even met glances that she didn't remember what Tigermoth was good at. Hopefully she landed the winning guess.

As if she could be spoken into existence, Honeyapple popped up right behind her brother, throwing herself onto his back and resting her front legs over his shoulders as he sat. "Talkin' about lil' ole me," She stopped to wink at Skullbrook. "-behind my back! My own big brother!" She faked wailed, rolling off of Tigermoth onto her back and flailing her legs in the air.
She paused dramatically, opening one blue eye to glance at Skullbrook. "To a fellow warrior no less! Hey! You better not- then they'll start to think I do nothin' but pull some of the best pranks known to cat-kind around here." She mewed, sticking out her tongue at her brother.

Having just exited the warrior's den, the deputy was getting his stretches out when a bumbling kit came rushing towards him excitedly. Boy, he sure did have a lot to say, and quickly. "Whoa, whoa, kid. Take it easy. Take a breath." The tom chuckled, gently swiping a paw over the kit's ears.
"Gonna lead the Lionhearts, huh?" Sunheart raised a brow, whiskers twitching in amusement. "Sure, fire away."
Duskleaf sat at the base of his old tree, picking out which leaves to put in his fur. It was nice to see the green again, brown and golden leaves in his fur looked nice, but they were a seasonal thing. With new leaves emerging once again, he had plenty of options to choose from to decorate his fur. Then a random thought entered his mind. It’d been a while now since he’d spoken to his grandfather. In fact, he couldn’t remember seeing him at all since Reedclaw died. He’d spent more time around his family in ThunderClan in fact, since meeting his sister and mother. It actually made him feel a pang of guilt, it was actually terrible that he hadn’t seen his grandfather much. Fishhook was an older cat, it was Duskleaf’s responsibility to check up on him and speak to him once in a while. Here he was, doing nothing, when he could be having a catch up with Fishhook.
Duskleaf quickly rose to his feet, before making his way through camp to look for his grandfather’s familiar pelt. "Hi Granda." He meowed upon finding the silver tabby. "How’re ye? I haven’t seen ye for a wee while." Duskleaf sat down, curling his tail around his paws.
@korok (here’s that starter I promised you weeks ago XD)
Fishhook was doing his usual basking in the sun, being bored out of his mind, when a welcome voice sounded from right next to him. Breaking into a rumbling, cracked purr immediately, he opened one milky blue eye to see the slightly blurry figure of his grandson, Duskleaf. "Duskleaf, my boy!" He patted the spot next to him with his frazzled, fluffy tail. "Come sit next to yer ole man. Enjoy the sun. It's finally comin' out now." He mewed, clearly intent in staying in his spot.
"Ya sure haven't." He grumbled as Duskleaf commented it had been awhile, but it was clear from the twinkle in his eyes that he was only joking. "Ya know, one day I'll be in them there stars that all you clan cats talk so much about and then you'll regret not spending more time with yer ole man." He sighed, feigning hurt. He chuckled, though it was more of a wheeze. "So, what's got ya so busy then?" He mewed teasingly.

Spiderpaw had quickly switched topics from the water to hunting. "Oh? I don't see why not." Minnowrain replied "Just us, or you wanna bring anyone else?"
You never know when your kid wants to bring a friend or sibling, or doesn't want to, so it never hurts to make sure to ask.
At least he thinks so.
