A little brown and white kitten laid in her nest as the sun rose. She yawned in contentment, then stretched out on the floor with a quiet purr. Still a moon to go until her apprenticeship. Ah, well there was nothing wrong with being a kit. Standing up, then shaking to rid herself of any leftover tiredness, Sparrowkit looked around. Was there anyone awake yet? She glanced at the entrance to see the silhouette of another kitten, along with something fluttering by. Was it a bee? A butterfly? Usually, Sparrowkit was hyperactive, but it was just a hint too early for bouncing around. Besides, the queens always, always scolded her when she woke too loudly. It wasn't her fault that everyone else was a late waker.

Approaching the den entrance, Sparrowkit sat down to the side of the opening, opposite to the other kitten. She didn't try speaking to him yet, instead peering outside to see what he was looking at. Her ears twitched in surprise. There were so many cats awake already! Apprentices were running around, warriors returning from the dawn patrol. How come it was only the nursery that was boring at this time of day? She dared a glance at the other kit, wondering if she should say something, then decided against it. The sun was still rising. They could watch it rise in silence together.

Again Harefoot pushes Crowpaws anger to the front of his mind, especially when he knew he was doing the move right! But he refused to let himself think about how enjoyable striking Harefoot would to to show him how well Crowpaw learned the move, even as it became more tempting.

He audibly growled but loosened and tightened his stance, standing straight noticing a small detail. If his mentors legs weren't so long Crowpaw would be as tall as him. Without any running in his activities all his growth supported his new stocky build and at this stage of his life growth spurts were common. Crowpaw felt a flare of satisfaction as standing up straight (something he rarely did) he didn't have to look that far up to see his mentos eyes. He hoped he would catch a flash of emotion that would reveal Harefoots thoughts on this as he drawled "Well? You actually gonna show me the move or what?"

Cheetahkit stood up and yawned she stretched and stood up noticing the grey kit she padded over and asked "Hi are you a new kit?"

He turned to a different one who was closer and ran at it, catching it swiftly.

Stormkit smiled a little as he continued watching the sunrise. He suddenly noticed that another kit was sitting at the opposite side of the entrance, also watching it. His eyes grew a little wide. It was a she-cat that seemed to be around his age. He was a little over five moons and would become an apprentice in only one moon. He gave his pelt a few licks, making sure it was in pristine condition. He took a deep breath, watching as the sun peeked over the horizon. He shifted on his paws, wondering if he should talk or keep quiet. Maybe this could be the friend I have been looking for! He smiled a little and then shook his pelt. He checked his pelt one more time and glanced over at her. If he remembered correctly, and he normally did when it came to she-cats, this was Sparrowkit. He looked over her brown and white pelt, noticing that she hadn't groomed yet. He took a deep breath and started to talk.

"Hello," he said in his slightly deep voice. He hoped that he didn't sound weird. "I'm Stormkit!" He flashed a smile and looked at his paws again. What was wrong with him. He never was like this? Why was it happening now? He shook himself, hoping that he would snap out of it.
This was it chance to make a friend! He couldn't mess it up! He puffed out his chest and tipped his chin up a little, hoping that this would make him fore confident.

Nice catch! Skunkblaze mewed, padding up to Deerblossom with her rabbit dangling from her jaws. It was bad luck the first one got away. She was enjoying spending time out of camp with a cat who wasn't an apprentice! Apprentice were all well and good, but it was nice not having to be the responsible one for once, and cutting loose a bit. And Deerblossom was a great cat to do that with! @MagicCat99

Sudddenly, the blackness faded away. Cinderkit blinked, and then sneezed. "What happened?" She asked, sniffing the air. Ew, it smelled like blood in here too! Oh, wait, this was the medicine cat den. Why was she in here?
