Redpool blinked, but didn't protest. He purred as well, though his yellow eyes softened a bit, for the most part they looked cold and hard. But they were much softer looking than they'd been for moons. He lay down on his side, though ready to leap to his paws in an instant. Just in case there was trouble of some sort. He flicked his tail tip to and fro absently, a deep purr rumbling from his chest as he lay in the cold, looking up at Harepaw.

She gave a soft mrrow of amusement, settling beside him with her paws tucked under her. "I thought we were hunting" she spoke playfully to him, her eyes shining with mischief.

“We were.” Redpool huffed indignantly. “But I just.... Didn't forgot. ” he said after a moment. He was just joking. He'd completely forgot they were hunting, so he stood up and and shook the pine needles from his fur. Unfortunately, he'd laid down in pine sap, so needles stuck up in his fur. “Just, let's not hunt giant hedgehogs.” he laughed, trying to lick it out, but only smearing it.

She shakes her head and helps him with the sap, carefully cleaning it from his fur. "This happens to me more then I'd like to admit." She said, referring to her long fur. "and i completely believe you" Her eyes shone with amusement.

He was pretty sure she was on to him. That was honestly one of his worst lies yet. At least, the most obvious lie yet. He definitely could've worded that better, but he didn't really want to. So he nodded his thanks and turned around, taking a step back so he was standing shoulder to shoulder with the far shorter cat, as he was much caller than average, sometimes twice as tall, depending on the size of the cat. “Let's go!” he meowed, setting off.

She shakes her head, amused. She follows his steps, not minding his height compared to her's. She giggles softly, nodding with his words. "hmmm..I recently caught the scent of a few rabbits."

Redpool's mouth watered at the thought of rabbits. He loved rabbits, or maybe that was his WindClan half speaking? He shrugged and looked around, nearly tripping over a rabbit hole. “Wait!” he hissed, holding up his tail. The rabbits were in there, so he crouched down, waiting patiently by the hole. The instant one popped up, he would grab it, but for now, it was a waiting game.

Harepaw crept around. She knew this rabbit hole, and there was only two entrances. She moved to the other entrance and batted at the dirt and the ground, trying to scare the rabbits out to Redpool.

Redpool flashed out his claws as soon as the tip of a brown ear popped up, his paws whacking the rabbit in the side of the head as it emerged. It let out a squeal of pain, and Redpool heard a crack as it twisted one leg. In a moment, he was on top of it, sinking his teeth deep into its back and pulling. He knew this was a messy way of killing, but he didn't care. A pool of red liquid spread across the ground, and he let go of the rabbit, which was dead. He noticed another one burst out, but he'd let Harepaw get that one. He stared at the blood, and a final realization filled him. How cruelly he'd been named. Named after a pool of blood. He let of a low growl and picked up the limp rabbit, then started to dig a hole to bury it so they could hunt some more.

Harepaw, true to her name, sped after the rabbit and pounced, slashing her claws along it's hind legs, stopping it from running before biting it's neck
