"Look, Hopekit...I'm sorry...I've been pretty depressed and...LemonKit is still sick with whitecough...I think my wound had an infection...I'm a mess, my life is a mess...without you." His eyes were large and wet.

Hopekit nodded with a smile. "It's okay. I've been a mess too. My mom's dead, and my sisters injured." she sighed, admitting her weaknesses.

"Who's your older brother?" The Siamese kitten questioned as she looked at Jaykit's indicated sister cats curled up in their nest(s).




She thought of her adoptive older brother Fernkit, but she didn't know quite where the tomkit was. Looking around, she couldn't quite see him in the nursery. That is, if he was even in the nursery. For all she knew, he could be anywhere. Remembering that the kit preferred to stick around her adoptive mother, she started scanning the den for the overprotective queen that had taken her in.




"I've got an older brother too, but I don't know where he is."

Remorakit strolled into the den quietly, coughing to make their presense in the den known to the blind medicine cat. "Did I sort them properl--What's wrong? Your face is wet," they observed, cutting into their own sentence. "Okay, not the best greeting," the kit muttered to themself, still looking up at Zerosight. Not being one for hellos, Remora wasn't exactly the best for a morning chat.

Zerosight flicked his ears at the announcement of Remorakit's arrival into the den, fluffing his pelt out against the slight breeze that seemed to follow the kitten in from the snowy outdoors. He chose to ignore the fact that they pointed out her face fur was wet, at least for now, and continued to sort herbs innocently. "Yes, they're sorted properly," He answered curtly, his blind eyes seemingly focused on the herbs in front of him. "And my face is wet because I was tired. I splashed some water on my face to wake myself up," He lied smoothy, getting better and better at lying to people everyday. The tom cat finished up her checking of the herbs and stood up, turning around and beginning to tidy up some of his patient nests on the other side of the room. His den was once again pristine and dust-free now that he had gotten his emotions taken care of. "We have some things we need to talk about."

It was sort of true. As far as he knew, a circle never ended so you'd just keep repeating, never ending, unchanging. It made him very confused when he thought about that kind of thing and he shook his head to clear out the abstract thoughts.

Remorakit smiled halfway when they were told their sorting had been done correctly, but felt a twinge of suspicion in their stomach. Your paws are dry. Still, they decided not to press the topic. Their white-tipped tail twitched, stirring no dust--they took a lot of pride in helping to clean up the den. "What do we need to talk about?" Remora blinked up with their olive eyes at the medicine cat.
