Pondwhisker, turning back around, noticed Codpaw had disappeared. Huh. Must've gone back to camp already. Letting out a chirp to Raccoonpelt, the tom padded back to camp.

Uhhhhh… Did this warrior know it was Autumnpaw’s first time out on a patrol? She glanced at her brother, who seemed to be in a grumpier mood than usual. She wasn’t about to point out this fact to Hailhawk though, since there was no way she was giving up the chance to explore without being babysat.

“Okie dokie!” she said cheerfully, bounding off in the instructed direction. “C’mon Winnie!” she called over her shoulder, eager to get going.

As the sun began its descent in the orange sky, Beansprout felt a chilling wind. Ah, a reminder that winter wasn't quite over yet. But neither was his solo patrol. He had taken it upon himself to check the borders every so often, just in case a patrol hadn't marked it properly. Which, surprisingly enough, didn't happen as much as it used to, but was still an issue in RiverClan. Nonetheless, Beansprout arrived at the ThunderClan border. Or... at least he had thought so. The ThunderClan scent was a bit fainter than usual. Eh, that wasn't his problem.

Without any further question, Beansprout trotted along the border, marking it accordingly. RiverClan may be on somewhat neutral terms with thunderClan, but that didn't mean they could simply traipse into RiverClan territory on a whim.

Beastflame led the others to the designated patrol location, Smallpines. It was the border with Thunderclan, a group of cats that the warrior didn't have any issues with at the moment. That could change easily, however, as it took little to sway Beastflame's opinion. Anything would work as an excuse for him to despise Thunderclan. So, he kept an eye out for trouble along the border as they traveled, and his nose up the breeze for any suspicious scents that might waft by.

"Spread out," he instructed upon arrival, jerking his head along the length of the border. "Mark at close intervals, then return back here. Remain within scenting distance of each other." Without waiting for a response he began following his own directions, padding a little ways away to leave his mark at the border.

Winterpaw scoffed. he sulked off quickly in the other direction, sniffing around for what he would... assume... be riverclan scent? he didn't know. just trying to scent anything fishy, really.

he rubbed his flank against the border line, not caring much for it. "im heading back! you snooze you loose..." he scoffed over his shoulder st them both, not waiting up as he headed back to camp.

The large warrior went to work marking the border, finishing up by rubbing up against the trunk of a nearby pine. Satisfied that his work was thorough, he turned back to return to the spot where they'd split up, tracking the scent. As he padded back, he spotted an abnormality out of the corner of his eye. A tall, slender tree near the border was swaying rather precariously in the wind. Narrowing his eyes, he spotted a jagged crack running along the trunk. That doesn't seem good, he thought to himself, picking up the pace.

Meeting up with the others, he glanced at them briefly. "Anything to report, or should we head back?" he asked, keeping an eye on the tree in his peripheral.

Autumnpaw finished up just second after her brother, and only because she got distracted by a pretty moth on a nearby tree. His voice caught her attention, pulling her back to reality, and she snapped out of her daydream about playing tag with the moth in the sky to chase after him. "Who's snoozing?!!!" she screeched playfully, launching herself over his body and swiping a sheathed paw gently at his head. Then, giggling hysterically, she darted off without a second look back, headed for home.
