Unknown: You wanted to meet with me, why?
Hawkmist: You know perfectly well. You know I want to help ThunderClan. I know, my past has been... vague... but I think I’m ready to reveal myself as a perfect warrior.

(Chuckle)

Unknown: A perfect warrior? You’re making me laugh!
Hawkmist: Don’t. I’ve been through more things than I would care to be in. I heard some of the other cats. Called me a noticeable shadow. True, I may be of ShadowClan origin, but I have pledged myself to this clan. I may be grumpy - Ravenpaw did call me that, I think - but I know what I’m doing. Strict? Yet I care. I have fought for this clan a thousand times, I would do it a thousand times again. These scars on my eye are a gesture of my commitment, of my promise.
Unknown: Would you... kill?
Hawkmist: What do you mean, kill?
Unknown: Would you kill for the best of the clan?
Hawkmist: I would try to avoid it, but not every cat is perfect. If it got to that point... yes. Yes I would.
Unknown: Why though? Why would a ShadowClan born cat be so loyal to ThunderClan?

Hawkmist: ThunderClan saved my life. I first saw it as a debt. It later changed into a kind of love.
Unknown: It really must be a kind of love. How about Buckstar? You seemed quite surprised when he became leader.
Hawkmist: He was a deputy before. It’s ironic. Though I don’t truly care about whether he lives or dies, I know he is my leader, and I am his warrior.
Unknown: Please, explain more. Anyone could listen to this recording.
Hawkmist: Alright. I never liked any of the cats in ThunderClan. I’m a slightly old warrior - I might consider myself senior - and I have experience as a mentor and a fellow clanmate. If I care for any cat, it’s the leader. I would serve my clan well enough, I presume, though I don’t want to judge myself.
Unknown: I see. We’ve run out of time.
Hawkmist: A shame. It was good to meet with you.
Unknown: You too, Hawkmist. Look after yourself.
