Thicket Restoration

Beansprout found himself responding to Gingerfrost's call, feeling somewhat surprised, yet a bit proud despite the situation. The deputy had said he would lead a restoration project, and he was doing it. This was certainly a step in the right direction. He addressed Gingerfrost directly. "I'll do what I can to help." A small dip of his head accompanied his words and the siamese stood, awaiting further instruction.

Evidently, the young tabby tom was pleased to see so many of his clanmates gather at his call, each seemingly ready to help. There were warriors, shields, apprentices, and even some queens who had come, all to aid in repairing what was lost. It was... An oddly nice feeling seeing them all. Now to hope everyone would be ready to put in the work. Getting back up, Gingerfrost gave one large nod to the group.
"Thank you all for coming, let's get going."

Preferably, he'd say nothing. The tabby didn't have a way with words like so many others did, but there was a certain pressure to speak that forced him to give his thanks aloud, instead of silently like he so often did. With that said however, he signalled the group to follow him towards Sleepy Thicket. And the walk wasn't long, by any means. Only the area grew less and less familiar, struck by destruction and chaos, caused by the terrible beasts they called dogs. Gingerfrost didn't bother hiding his grimace as in certain areas, even bodies that were once buried lined the ground. It looked a mess. They had a lot of work to do. With a deep breath (that'd nearly make him gag from the bad smell), he turned towards those who followed, silently watching each of them for a brief moment.

"We'll be splitting up into two groups: cleaners and restorers. The names are fairly self-explanatory; cleaners will be tasked with cleaning the area up as much as possible, and restorers will be identifying and restoring as many graves as possible."

He paused, giving a moment to let this information sink in. Frankly, he wasn't sure if he was being clear enough -- the deputy didn't always convey his thoughts correctly into words, opting to use as few words as possible. Still, he hoped it was clear enough for the clan to understand what he meant.
"We may not be able to bring the Thicket back to what it once was, but it can be brought to a better state than it is now. Unless there are any questions, join your groups and let's get started."

While there was the thought of groups, he didn't go out of his way to form them himself. Mainly because each would likely gravitate towards what they felt the most comfortable doing; should one group end up much larger than the other, he'd take care of that later -- after they were formed.

The large tabby listened to the explanation silently, then stood up to follow the deputy. As he began the trek, amber eyes fell upon a familiar cat. As Lilycreek had also joined Goosecurl, he didn’t mind leaving the queen’s side for the time being. Lengthening his strides to reach the other tom’s side, he approached Snowleap and his companion. After a greeting nod to Cloudjumper, he glanced at his…friend? Maybe? He didn’t even know, honestly. All he had determined was that he respected and appreciated the former leader, and was rather attached to him.

“Would you…” he trailed off, clearing his throat. “Would you like to work together?” he forced out tentatively. He hadn’t talked much with the other warrior since his return from the Starcave. Beastflame wanted to change that, but wasn’t exactly sure how to do that…except of course by being his typical awkward self. It was strange, honestly. The shield was quite certain his social skills hadn’t changed since meeting Pike- Snowleap, but for some reason it only bothered him since then.

Tail flicking, Ferretsnap bounded over to one side of the Thicket, looking around for others who wished to join the same group as him. He would expect there to be less cats in his group than the other- not many would have the heart to touch the graves of the dead, even to clean them up.

"I will be a restorer. The graves of our Clanmates must receive care. Having your final resting place be destroyed is the worst of outcomes," he stated, though he was mostly speaking to himself.

Birdpaw volunteered to be a cleaner, because the other job sounded like a surefire way to lose her lunch. Glancing over at Kes, she wondered what the other molly wanted to. ( @sol. <3)

Sedgestorm volunteered to help the grave keepers. He was large, which would help him dig the new burial spots and carry what was left of their dead.

Aldermane on the other hand is far too small to consider such a thing, so he went to help the cleaners.

Spirittail volunteered to help restore the graves, he figred that role would suit him best

Moonspot smiled softly. she was delighted to know that there was a cleaner group to help out. she was always one to sometimes clean up sometimes around her own nest in the nursery when no ones looking. she soon slowly stood up as she then started her way to the group as she purred. happily smileing as she was ready to start her cleaning duties as best as she can, she knew she couldn't move as much since she was expecting but she would try her best.
