Spear helped his pack-mate easily take down the other badger. Looking up, he noticed two-- no, three more badgers entering the camp. What was going on? He didn't have time to ponder it, however, as he dashed to the first one. It was beastly, larger than the other two; but Spear was still bigger, so that didn't bother him. It was the claws and fangs he worried over. Faintly, he noticed Winter call out that she was going to get Fern.

It took him a while, but he ended this one the same as the first-- with a bite to the neck. His legs and shoulders ached from the multiple gashes, but he tried to ignore it. Looking up from his kill, he noticed rest of the pack had returned, probably from all the yelps and blood-smell, and had made a quick end to the badgers. No one seemed to give attention to all the badger bodies that littered the ground, however. The black wolf followed their gazes to the alpha, who lie on his side with deep gashes on his body. Feeling nervous, Spear trotted closer. Where was Fern?

Winter appeared put with Fern in her jaw. She ran to her alpha, Snap, and put Fern down. She noticed the badger that was battling her leader a while ago, standing, steadily. She leaped at it even if it was 2x larger the her. Then she called to her closes pack-mates "Flap! Spring! Come help me!". The two male wolves ran to help Winter. Winter ran up the badger's spine and quickly, before she gets thrown off, she bit hard on its neck. The badger shook her off and ran away before she can do anything else. Winter got up and looked around camp. She ran to the nursery to see if everyone was okay, and everything was. The camp was destroyed and almost flat. She looked at her omega, Flame, as he bit the foxes neck. The fox went limp and still. Flame dropped it and looked around.

Also, just so you know, badgers are actually quite a bit smaller than wolves! ^_- }

Spear, muscles still tingling with adrenaline, wanted to help the others take down the surviving badger, but held back, knowing it would be ridiculous, four wolves fighting one badger. So he watched, chest tight with tension, as his pack-mates ended the last one, along with the fox. He was struck once again by Winter's skill, but this time, he felt more of a begrudging respect instead of jealousy. Once Winter ran into the nursery, Spear quickly turned his attention back to the alpha, who Fern was finally tending to. He pushed himself past other pack members so he could see better then made himself relax somewhat when he saw that the alpha was going to be fine.

Winter looked at Flap and winked. Flap nod and ran up the badger's spine. Spring stepped back and jumped on the badger's head and clung on. Winter ran around to confuse the badger and leaped over it. She bits it neck and limp it went. She looked around once aging. "What a mess" she mumbled. Flame stood at the his den and ran to Snap's. "I think we might have to........ leave" She bought to herself.

Spear narrowed his eyes and looked away from the two. He didn't take well to meaningless suffering, even to the badgers, who had apparently destroyed their camp. At the evident hopelessness in the pack member's expression, Spear snorted. "We don't need to leave; we just need to rebuild," he said, surveying the damage. "It wouldn't take much, just--" Spear stopped short when an ear-piercing boom whistled past him from among the trees. Startled and stiff, he quickly glanced behind him toward the forest. What in the... Another boom rattled the opening, this one followed by a sharp yelp. Heart racing, the black wolf glanced in time to see the Alpha fall flat, dead. Immediately, the other pack member's scattered, running away, out of the opening and into the woods. More shots were heard.
Spear motioned to Blizzard. "Come on!" he barked, shoving her toward the forest. Away from.. whatever was going on.

Winter looked behind her and ran into the alpha's den. She returned out with Snap in her mouth and beckoned to Fern. "What happened?" Winter quickly ask as they started running. "I don't know" Fern replied as she panted. "Whatever happened, we need to evacuate. I wonder where Starflight is." "Your sis? Oh, she's right there." Fern said and beckoned Starflight over. Winter ran a little faster and caught up with Spear. "Do you know what happened? Literally, a loud Boom just interrupted you when you said we didn't have to leave, and now we do. Also our beta has to become leader and chose a new beta." Winter barked. "Hmmm, actually I'm going to see what art was" and turned around, not waiting for an answer.

Spear shrugged and gritted his teeth at her question, panting as he continued to run. Now was no time to chat! He wasn't certain what those booming sounds were, but he'd smelled that scent before. It was like a haunting memory, lurking in the back of Spear's subconscious. And, from what he grasped from it, the stench brought no good. And now the alpha... was gone. He clenched his jaw at the thought of the beta, pompous and arrogant, taking the alpha's place. The beta would be the end of the pack..
Spear shoved the thoughts away. He had to focus on surviving at the moment. He glanced around to see if the others were still running nearby. The black wolf skidded to a halt, kicking up a swirl of snow. Where was Blizzard? Then he remembered. She was going back?! That was the single dumbest thing she could do! Growling, he sped back toward the camp, hoping he'd catch her before they reached it.

Winter ran to quickly for Fern or Starflight or the rest of the pack to see her. She thought about what the noise could have been.
When she reached back to camp, she sat down to catch her breath. "Hello" Some voice said behind her. Winter jumped up from her spot and ran a little back. "Who are you? Why are you here?" She asked frantically. "I'm Feather" Said the white and grey she-wolf. "I'm Night" Barked the black and white tom-wolf. "Oh, nice to meet you two. Anyhow, did you know what that noise was?" "Yup, it was..." Feather got trailed off from a loud boom noise. Winter backed off from where the noise came from.

Spear ran after the white she-wolf, following her tracks right back to the camp. Stupid! Did she have a death wish? Actually.. What was he doing? His pace slowed with realization. He didn't have to risk his skin for her! But.. If she didn't come back.. Spear's jaw clenched. He'd probably never live with himself if she was killed and he could have stopped it.
Reassured, he continued on, his fur rising more the closer he got to camp. The area basically shouted danger. Finally, he reached the camp, but slowed when he spotted two unfamiliar forms. What was going on? He spotted Winter a moment later, her white pelt nearly blending in with the snow. A boom shook nearby. Spear stopped immediately, panting silently and trembling while he decided what would be the wisest action at the moment.
