Flamepaw turned her head to hear Berrypounce calling all of ThunderClan's apprentices. I wonder what they're gonna do, she thought, curious. Even Mumblepaw, her grumpy brother, had padded to her side, his head cocked to one side. "What's going on?" he asked, a hint of suspicion in his voice. "Looks like we're gonna have some competitions," Flamepaw answered, excitment in her voice. At first, there was interest showing in her brother's eyes, but after a heartbeat or two, it melted into annoyance. "I wish I could join, but I haven't learnt anything yet," he grunted, padding away. "Wait!" his sister called after him. "I haven't learnt much yet, and I'm still gonna try the competition!"

Mumblepaw thought for a moment, then nodded. "I guess I'll join," he mumbled, trotting back to his sister's side.

Smokewatcher flicked her tail, strolling over from the Sleepy Thicket. "Need help?" she asked flatly. Life was really boring, but this sounded alright. Competitions? Nice. She watched the dumb she-cat flick a pine-cone around.

"You know, you should start planning some activities. I bet we're all gonna enjoy playing with pinecones. Especially ShadowClan." Smokewatcher meowed. There was no sarcasm in her voice, she had no emotion. She bet the she-cat couldn't tell if she was joking or not. Good. she thought with satisfaction. No one will know.

Smokewatcher sighed. "Hey we could hunt, we could fight, we could..." she left off. Smokewatcher raised her eyebrows, encouraging the she-cat to go on. Wow. This was boring already. She looked around at the other apprentices, they all looked pretty...what? They had their own personalities, and Smokewatcher didn't.
