Dashing through the Ice! [Riverclan warriors and apprentices]

Kestrelwing let out a chuckle - quite a rare sight these days - and turned his eyes on those who were the most boastful. One was Havenpaw, quite the drama queen if he had anything to say about it, and Blizzardsky. Or, Blizzard-blind as he preferred to call him ever since their run in at the border where he'd been helping Fernkit.

The tom returned his gaze to his paws, letting his claws come out to give him some traction. That was much better, and he found that with this added tactic he was able to walk gingerly across the ice. This would be hilarious to see who could stay on their paws, and who faltered a bit.

As she watched the medicine cat hiss at her, Havenpaw sent one right back to him, tail lashing behind her and head held high in defiance. She was going to win this race, just watch. And after, she'd parade her victory around every cat she could. Glancing back at her mentor, she slid over to him, using her claws to stop. "We got this Bliz. All of these other phonies are just pretending that they're fast." A smirk creased her face as she nudged him lightly, turning her attention back to the ice under paw. She was more than ready for this race to be underway.

smokepaws ears pricked. This sounded like the thing for him! Excitedly he padded onto the he ice and looked around a good amount of cats where there. A lot seemed determined but smokepaw in his head knew he would in. His face turned into a sly smirk. He licked his front pelt and looked around for his sister and best friend.

His mind quickly got distracted though. He imagined what it’d be like to be a high rank. To be someone who had power! Snakeheart was so young but yet had so much authority. What would it be like to have so much authority! He sat a little taller. Maybe one day he’d be Smokestar the bravest leader ever! He for sure would appoint sparkpaw or morningpaw even though she was a bit annoying to be his deputy. With them three working together anything would be possible. He would keep the clan in place. Fight shadowclan and there mean leader. He’d take care of the coyotes that killed so many! He would be a leader people for ages would rember a leader no one would forget. A leader that would make starclan proud.

He realized the only way to do that was to start training hard. He would have to train like never before. He’d have to be strong but sly at the same time. He’d have to start seeking out cats to train him. And maybe just maybe he’d be leader some day.

Barkfuzz eagerly leapt onto the ice, shrieking as he slid across the pond and flopped on the opposite bank. A bit dazed he sat up and shook his head briskly. This is perfect! A nice race to warm him up in the cold leafbare wind.

He didn't even care if he won. He just wanted to have fun with his Clanmates. Barkfuzz now cautiously returned to the ice, a little purr of amusement escaping him as he slid slowly across the frozen pond.

aspenpaw walked up, the new apprentice shyly walked up. he had just joined and hoped this would help him meet others. he stood there looking around theres so many! and so competitive! he thought. he hoped he wouldnt get hurt while doing this, he hoped the others would be nice. i hope i can prove myself to these cats he then shook his head you scaredy cat! youll do fine...right he thought outloud. he then actually got on the ice and slipped but caught himself what are you doing! youve been on ice before! he thought though that was moons and moons and moons ago. and he had almost fallen in! everything would be ok this time as he knew how to swim... mostly

Blizzardsky growled,” It’s not chubflub, you got the name wrong it’s Chubfish that was what my name was as an apprentice!” he then shot out onto the ice by boosting off his back paws off the solid ground to shove himself forward it seemed genius.

Junipersong trotted up to Snakeheart. Smiling as she looked out over all the different cats lining up to race. All clanmates she adored, and she couldn't even say which she wanted to win, not wanting to pick favorites. Asking Snakeheart "Excuse me Snakeheart. If its alright with you, I would just like to spectate this race. I'm big and clumsy anyways so its not like I would win. I just want to see the excited little faces of everyone, and cheering on anyone who gets behind!" Perking her ears as she gave a beautiful, genuine smile. This was what fueled her drive. Watching others have fun was the fuel for her soul, and what kept her so happy all the time! After such harsh news for the clan, watching something fun like this was exactly the jumpstart she needed to motivate her once more.

If approved to spectate, she would walk ahead of the starting line, careful not to actually get on the track and potentially in the way of anyone. Sitting at about the halfway point. Another upside to her doing this would be that she could run out and fetch anyone who go injured or stranded on the ice!

Snakeheart was still chuckling as Junipersong approached him waving her off for a second while he recovered. When he did stop however he drawled an off handed "Sure your choice if you wanna help or ask any questions or anything ask Foxblaze and she can direct you." before he wandered over to his perfect sitting spot and bellowed,

"Alright racers take your places! Start on the line, I dont want to see paws over the line dont cheat! Now!
Ready!
Set!
Go!"

Aaaaand they were off totally unaware of the numerous traps tricks and issues the mother son duo had placed on the track to mess them up. Suckers would learn though and fast. This was going to be so funny

Prompt: The starting area of the race has intentionally been made slick and slippery! More-so then normal too! Traction is a the main problem here!

Twigpaw had no idea why his brother was hosting an event, but he imagined it had to to with his newfound 'leader' status. Smirking, he made his way to the ice. He was going to win, and show that dingdong who was ACTUALLY the one worthy of their name. Snakepaw was probably just too scared to race, since he'd lose. As the words GO flew into the air he took off, pushing off with his hind paws and aiming to glide along. It was hard to keep his legs from flying away, but eventually he got control. Suddenly, his legs slid out entirely and he flopped onto his belly, all traction seemingly gone. After attempting and failing to get up, he instead used his front paws to power him and his back paws limp, hoping he would be able to glide across the super-slick ice rather than having to run.

Mothsky glanced at the ice then sighed as she felt herself slide a little bit from the slippery flat ground. She was ready to try this at least before deciding to quit.

Goosefury took off and almost immediately tripped and fell on his face. He yelped as he skidded across the ice, and dug his claws in to try to gain some sense of balance.
