Re: ShadowClan Evacuation

Desertpaw swallowed as he came near her... May be trying to lick her? She was unsure... However she pulled away slightly. He didn't fully make it though, which desertpaw was half grateful and half disappointed. She then blinked her one eye and looked at her lost love. Could she even call it that? He most likely only used her for a bit to make that other she cat she had learned of jealous. Apparently it worked because he left her quite quickly. However, that was moons ago and now they were here... together once again. The now older female perked her out turned ears forward hanging on to every word that came from his mouth. She sighed as he said he didn't know why he was here. "I see," she said simply trying to hold back the hurt in her voice. Desertpaw stepped slightly forward as he suggested that he should leave. Was this a sign from star clan that they meet again? But with such chaos surrounding the pair? She had thought about being with tigerpaw before... being together forever, but that would only bring suffering it seemed. She didn't care at that time however. She shook these past thoughts from her mind as she looked at the larger tom with his head low. She had pity for him in that moment until she thought about his last statement. "So, you are just gonna leave me again? Like you did so many moons ago?" She asked with her eyes never leaving the male.

When did I even start? It was clear that he was checking out. Wait, Daypaw? Slowly, Acornfall lifted his eyes to look at the medicine cat. They were saying something. Evacuation? Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion, but gingerly the elder rose to his paws and scampered over to the younger cat.
Letting his mouth fall open, Acornfall took in the chaos that was the camp ground. Flooding waters, pieces of dens getting swept away, screeching clan mates. It was so much to take in. He felt like crying. Really, it was impossible for the tom to tell if he was even crying with the way his pelt was drenched. Looking over to Slatestone, then Daypaw, Acornfall stumbled through the mud and pressed himself up against the warrior. His whiskers weren't healed, so one wrong move and the cat could find himself swept away in the waters. Luckily the warrior he had clung to looked strong enough to help him out. Voice coarse, Acornfall turned to Daypaw, "Please be careful getting out!"
|
Slatestone watched the camp with wide, kitten-like, eyes; his amber orbs following the movement of the other warriors of his clan. However, when Daypaw responded to his offer, they snapped back to the smaller apprentice. "Got it!" He meowed as confidently as he could. "I'll get him out safely!"
The warrior was still startled a bit when the elder pressed himself against him though, having almost thought it was some monster in the water brushing by him. However, he quickly swallowed his fear with one look at Acornfall, knowing that he was responsible for the other's life right now. If Slatestone didn't get him out of this place then he'd certainly drown because of his injuries. But, if that happened Slatestone would be drowning with him. Laying his tail across the other's back to hold him steady against his side, the warrior turned toward the exit. "Lean against me," He meowed, raising his voice against the rain. "We'll take this slow and steady." The warrior watched the water with a slightly worried gaze, but knew that it wouldn't rise above their head yet.

"Leave you again?" Tigerpaw looked back up at her. Usually, he was such a playful tom. He help confidence. He wasn't afraid of anything, but now he felt that he lost everything. He was scared to take a step forward to her, so he stepped back. That would be the best thing right now; that they had space between them. "I never wanted to leave you, Desert..." He didn't know whether she was a warrior yet, so he couldn't say her complete name. He would had called her the nickname he used many moons ago, but he knew it probably wasn't...a good time for that. The she cat looked angry with him, and Tigerpaw was ready to leave the premises but he...didn't want to leave her again. "I'm sorry!" He pleaded, sighing. "I just thought I did the right thing." He wanted to make sure she stayed safe. After that badger attack...and, her scarring her face, Tigerpaw felt it was his fought that such a thing happened to her, so he ceased their relationship. It was wrong in the first place because his loyalty was stronger to her than it was to his clan. He knew he would had done anything for her at just a simple command. At least the rain was a lot lighter up here, and she was safe. He was scared to move forward, to warm her up, or give her rasp licks. He didn't want her to feel uncomfortable at his touch, so he awkwardly stood there, thinking that it probably was best if he went back into the camp of his own clan, but...she didn't want him to leave. She probably didn't deliberately speak it, but he could sense it behind her attitude. Right now he was conflicted. He wanted to stay, to her embrace but instead he couldn't even bring himself to look at her.

Elmpaw nudged his terrorized brother,"Help fool." Louder he yowled," Anyone need help!"
Dungpaw shook in terror and he yanked his feet out of the mud, he needed someone one of his she-cat friends prefered to help comfort him as they escaped.

Eclipsekit was caught in the midst of chaos. Water roared through the camp behind her. She had been dragged out by the mob of cats who flooded out with the water. As soon as she was out of the camp, she dug her paws in and looked around. Panic surrounded her all around. She didn't know what to do. It was overwhelming. Her breathing rate picked up and tears filled her eyes. Against her better judgment, the poor little kit felt herself flatten against the wet ground. She squeezed her green eyes shut and wished it would all disappear. She wanted her momma. Then the was a voice. Eclipsekit's large ears perked up. A voice screaming her name. Over the sound of other cat's panic, she heard a tether to the only safe haven in the manic.
Raspberrybubble.
"Momma!" She cried, finally letting the tears fall. She was still afraid. What if that tether broke? She'd be left to drift alone until she drowned. "Momma! Where are you?!"

Amberstorm nodded and gently released the kits, then quickly picked Willowkit back up. With just Willowkit, Amberstorm was able to clime the rise a little bit quicker, until she finally made it to the top. She glanced around for some dry spot to put the kit. It wasn't long before she found a hollow log nearby. Of course, it would be a little damp as the walls weren't very thick, but it was the best place to keep the kits safe for now. She made a nodding gesture at the log to Owlkit and Hollykit, then proceeded to carry Willowkit over there, depositing the tiny bundle inside.
|
Whitestep followed the she-cat up the hill. Berrykit dangled from her jaws, his mews of protests ringing in her ears. When she got to the top, she saw Owlkit and Hollykit rush into the protection of the log. Setting Berrykit down, she watched him follow them before turning to Amberstorm. "I can't thank you enough! My kits would have drowned or gotten hurt if it weren't for you," she purred, though her eyes were distant and darkened with trouble.

Re: ShadowClan Evacuation
@Teza @CandyFlossCat @Constellation
Aspenfall turned his gaze back towards the path ahead of them, taking a deep breath before beginning to stomp through the mud. Rain water kept spilling out from the clouds above, and a raindrop splattered right above the tom's eye. He winced, blinking the stinging water out from his vision as he used his supporting shoulder to push Feathermist through the worst of the sludge. Each muscle was strained from trying to get them both through and to safety, and his mind whirled with how he could get every cat that needed help out as well. His loyalty to ShadowClan, StarClan, and his family came above everything else, even his own well being, so it was no surprise that the younger warrior was pushing himself to the limit to secure safety for his older sister.
Ears swiveling in the direction of a familiar voice, the Maine Coon breathed a sigh of relief, thanking StarClan as Quietdance appeared. "Quietdance! Over here!" he called, raising his voice above the chaotic storm that swirled on around them. Giving Feathermist one more determined shove - gently, of course - he was able to close the short gap that separated the two and his brother-in-law. "Here, can you get Feathermist to higher ground? I'm going to keep checking around," he huffed, sides heaving as he began to hand the job of supporting the heavily pregnant she-cat over to her mate. Aspenfall exchanged a brief glance with Quietdance, knowing the tom would take good care of his sister, before turning his gaze to Feathermist. "I'll be back soon to check on you, okay?" he promised, giving her a swift, affectionate lick over the ear before he nodded and turned, trying his best to leap through the accumulating mud.
@Raywood @Lunacross
The ShadowClan camp was barely unrecognizable now, with the remaining camp debris swirling into the huge mud pool that had grown swiftly in the past few minutes. The next person on his mind was Peachfuzz. He had to make sure his brother was alright. While he didn't doubt the older tom's ability to hold his own against a storm like this, that didn't stop him from worrying over the ShadowClan warrior. He'd left camp earlier, and now Aspenfall saw no sign of him.
A familiar voice caught his attention, and he turned his head to see Tinyfuzz looking around frantically, eyes wide with terror. "Tinyfuzz!" he called, putting all his focus and energy into trudging through the sticky brown mud to reach her. Eyes narrowed slightly and ears pulled back in disgust at the mud that clung to his pelt and slowed him down, Aspenfall barreled through at an impressive pace, never taking his eyes off of his sister-in-law. Up ahead, his pale green gaze darted again to see his brother closing in on his mate as well. Relief swelled in his chest, and he slowed his pace a little, knowing that Peacefuzz would reach Tinyfuzz first. "Peacefuzz!" he called, simply to let his brother know he was there if any help was needed.
After a few more struggling moments, the young warrior reached their side, his breath coming in heavy as his heart pounded in his chest. "Are you both alright?" he asked, voice raised once more in order to be heard over the crackling sound of the storm. There were other cats on his mind to worry about; for instance, his apprentice. But she was a she-cat, and he knew despite that fact that he had trained her well enough so far that she should know her way to higher ground with no potential help. Plus, his family came above everything else, and right now there was a chance that they might be in trouble - which was a risk that Aspenfall was not willing to miss.

"The right thing?" She asked as she squinted her eye at him and shook her head slightly. She was dismayed. Was this not the same cat she had.. had... She stopped at that thought not wanting to bring back more pain. "How was it right for you to introduce yourself to me, start a conversation, then get close to me... then leave me when I needed you most? I wanted to see you for so many moons and you were never there!" She growled stepping forward. "After the badger attack," she sighed, "I went to the border every single day wishing, hoping I would see you again even for just a moment, but what did you do? You fled back to your warm, safe camp... back.... back to that.." She paused as anger flooded her trembling body. She took a breath,"never mind, it doesn't matter who you fled to... what matters is that you had the audacity to break my heart, and you say it was for the best?" She asked as she clawed the muddy ground. "I thought you were dead... or that you never even cared about me," she broke into a pitiful whisper. Desertpaw wasn't the type of cat to want pity or roll in her misfortunes, but it was time to let out the feelings she kept inside for so long. "You used me... didn't you? I was just some quick fling of yours and I wasn't smart enough to see it. I should have known with your flirtatious personality," she said. She then paused. "I should have known..." She whispered. The warrior was now building up a story in her mind to have a reason for her suffering... and she thought that her story was true.

The lean male went to her side, burying his muzzle in her neck gently, a pained smile on his maw. “Thank Starclan.. You’re alive, you are alive!” Pinewhisker knew he was overacting perhaps just a bit, but he didn’t care, “I’m so glad that I could see you again, if only it was in better circumstances.” The warrior sniffed at her pelt, inspecting the she-cat thoroughly and seeing some cuts with some bruising here and there, but compared to him, Needlescar was in much better conditions.
However, he noticed her shaking tone and her freezing pelt as he laid beside the she-cat, both of them were drenched with filthy flood water and practically half-drowned from this madness since they had returned to camp. “I.. I’ll keep you warm, if that’s okay..” Even though Pinewhisker cared for her, they had only met today and he needed to respect boundaries. He was no stingy tom-cat and was quite the gentleman when it came to that, but the warrior just wanted her to be safe and well taken care of. Pinewhisker glanced at his hind leg, stained with reddened blood, but he would pull through - what mattered now was her and only her, in his mind. The tom-cat glanced towards the forest, wondering if the fleeing clan was even in their land anymore or too far gone already to even catch up with at this point. He shook his head though, not worrying about that now. “Let’s just rest here for now..”
|
The pale-furred warrior smiled weakly at him, surprised to see how happy he looked. She herself was joyfilled, though her eyes caught on his wound and guilt sank into her. She waited for him to get down, her eyes avoiding his for a moment before she fixed her gaze back on the tom as he limped over. Guilt raked it's claws into her again, if she hadn't told him they needed to save cats he'd be uninjured and away from this mess. She blinked, pushing her face into his warm fur and letting herself get warmer, her tail swaying gently. "B-But I got you into this whole mess!" She whimpered, ears drooping. Needlescar had a habit of blaming things on herself. "I-I'm glad I could see you again too." She whispered, a tiny smile forming on her face as she shivered and looked at the murky water. Her limbs weren't in the pain his leg was in, but they were sore and numb as she leaned into him and closed her eyes slightly, exhausted.
She was shivering still, and while she hadn't been severely injured, was drained. Her pelt was dripping with icy water, mud plastered to it in some areas. She'd feel much better when she was more dry, less shaken and more energized. She groggily nodded her head to his mew, the thought of warmth making her forget they'd just met. She didn't care, all she wanted was to be able to get out of his dump of a camp and find somewhere nice to stay. Needlescar let out a tiny sigh, leaning gently on the tom as her eyes fully closed. "Five minutes.." she whispered, "wake me up after that.." she added, she'd only allow herself a little bit of time to re-energize, then Pinewhisker if he needed, then they could get out of here. The rain and flood made her tense as she slowly drifted off on the little patch of shore, her breaths slowing. "Okay" she mumbled, half-awake as she buried deeper into his fluffy pelt.

Lucky watched the warrior disappear down the bank and into the darkness and the rain continued to fall. Yowls of fright and dread filled the night air between rumbling, cracking claps of Thunder as scores of cats made their way up the hill, their fur plastered to their bodies. The cold and damp had aggravated her injuries, and her shoulder stung. Here she sat, perched atop a stone to keep out of the mud, surrounded by strangers. This was the most she had seen of any clan cats besides Daypaw since the medicine cat had brought her to their den after finding her half-dead in the woods, and Lucky didn't get the impression many cats knew she was there in the first place. She shrank against the rock as the sky lit up and braced herself for the air-splitting crack that would follow. Though she had tried to put on a brave face, Lucky sat shivered from more than just cold.

After a few steps, though, he looked back at Fallenfeather to make sure she was coming. There was no way he'd just rush off without her. Fallenfeather was relieved to see he tom launch into action and Bearblaze slowly wading through the shoulder-high water, his head high to keep it out of his mouth and nose. His fluffy fur slowed him down and the she-cat easily kept pace, her personality returning to normal. But that was the thing; she still felt that way around the tomcat. She wasn't shy around him anymore.
Do I have a crush on Bearblaze?
She shook her fur out, which had little effect, and trudged after him.
