WindClan: Life Before 2023's Fire

Wing blinked around her at the rolling hills of the moor. Her ears flicked back as she realized that she was probably terribly lost. Taking a breath, Wing continued to explore the moor, hoping that she would accidentally find the way back home, just like how she had accidentally found the way here. Today was clearly not her lucky day, though. A small group of cats came up to her as she was walking. Wing’s eyes widened and she tried to make herself as small and unthreatening as possible.

Thistlewing shook out her fur, water droplets splattering around everywhere. She huffed at having fallen into the stream between ThunderClan and WindClan again. She fluffed out her fur to try to stay warm. She looked back toward the moor. Thistlewing knew that she should get back to hunting. She only hoped that she didn’t slip up again... or trip down.
She held her head up. With those kinds of negative thoughts, she would end up falling down. Sniffing for rabbits again, she forced her doubts from her mind like her mentor had taught her to do long ago, and the scent came to her nose easily.

Hedgekit padded around the clearing quietly. She was a proud little kit, ready to explore. Her curiosity mostly had to do with battle and stuff, but she still wanted to know everything. She was twitching her ears excitedly.

Seedheart had just been walking when she heard a commotion. The guardian looked at Berrywing and at the other cats. Oh no! How did this happen. The molly ran the best she could to catch up to them. The three legged molly didn't even have to ask. She could tell what had happened. "We gotta get away from here, Help me with Berrywing.", she meowed almost in a panic.

The large apprentice nodded and dragged Berrywing onto Seedhearts shoulders. He then stood up and took some of the wait on his own shoulders. "I was stupid!" Halfpaw wailed when they began to walk. "Its m fault! If only I had listened to him, or stoopped when he stuck out his tail! The viper struck for me, not him. He saved my life!" The chimera apprentice sobbed.

~Featherfur sat in snow.. still looking up. Oh it would be great to have her vision. She could imagine what every cat looked like but she could never see if they would true~

Mushy didn’t want to be tooooo mushy, so the warrior straightened up and cleared his throat in that way that dads did when they accidentally showed one (1) whole emotion. (Was that normal or did Mushy just have a bad childhood?) The toyger mix nodded at Stagleech and leaned down to start eating so he didn’t have to say anything and risk being too emotional again.

“Yeah, kid, I don’t mind sharing. You deserve to get some food too.”

The next part was even more mushy and Rushingmoor simultaneously thought he might melt and might die. His sad emotional side was living for this but his tough ‘I’m a man’ side said no more emotion!

“Thanks, Stag... I’d like that too. And I just want you to know that... I’m not going anywhere, bud. Even when you are old and sick of seeing this old face everywhere, I’m still gonna be there for you. I know you didn’t ask for any reassurance or anything, but honestly... I think I needed it. Whatever, we don’t have to talk about it anymore. As long as you know I’m here for you, I’m good.”

SwiftStike padded slowly out of the Warriors den, stretching his body he attempted to shake the morning grogginess that always plagued him. It was the start of a new day and the weather was perfect for it. Closing his eyes and looking to the sky Swiftstrike took a deep breath of air, letting his mouth hang open to taste the breeze as it swept through the Windclan clearing. First order of business was to start the day with a meal. Walking over to the prey pile he searched over and found himself a mouse. He didn't need anything big, after al the day had just started so there wasn't any reason to gorge himself. He would more than likely give back to the pile after his hunting session later in the day. He was excited to really stretch his muscles, after all he had only recently become a warrior. It was his time to really make a name for himself in the clan. But that was later, for now it was time to eat. Swiftstrike found a nice spot in the clearing to sit down and eat, enjoying the smell of the wind and taking in the world around him as he began eating his first meal of the day.

Quiverpaw relaxed slightly as Rosebriar laid her tail along her shoulders and offered encouraging words, nodding her head. She also blushed, her ears burning, not used to such compliments. Rosebriar's charms seemed to have worked well enough. "Thank you." She meowed, looking a little more confident now.
She listened as Rosebrair explained her next test, following her gesture with her gaze to the rock she was indicating. "Got it," She meowed - understanding. Quiverpaw may not have been born a WindClan cat, but she had been gifted with long legs, like her clanmates, and a small frame - making her light and fast. She was fairly confident this would go well, having enjoyed her previous for-fun/practice-runs and running training.
At Rosebrair's signal, she launched herself forward, using her hind legs to propel herself forward and her tail to stay balanced. She took long, purposeful strides, reaching the rock in no time at all. Only then did she skid to a stop to turn and run back. Quiv was back at Rosebrair's side in less than a minute, barely out of breath. She had been in better shape than she'd expected and was smiling - having run the nervousness right out of her system. She had forgotten how cleansing a run could be, even short ones.
