Quailtail's eyes rested on Moonpaw, watching her as she spoke comfortingly. Her paw and touch grounded him in reality. The tom, regaining his footing, looked around the clearing. Most cats had moved on, he realized. No one was looking at him. Quailtail began to sober up, his eyes regaining their focus. Quailtail shook his head violently and blinked away the foggyness that hung over his brain. Thats right, you're a warrior. Quailtail reminded himself. He had to consciously fix his posture; shoulders back, tail up. "You're right." Quail mustered an insincere smile.

"My role is not finished." He meowed, feeling somber. The dark-eyed tom still was not his usual self; the childish vibrancy and playfulness he once exuded seemed to have been sapped away. He was... incredibly tired, he realized. Quailtail glanced behind him; it was difficult to hear Moonpaw over the clamoring of his clanmates. "I'll answer your question if we move over a little." He meowed.

Stormkit sat down in the center of the nursery. His head was swinging left to right as he looked for his sister. The kit perked his ears listening for her voice. He wanted to play a game he had concocted, but she was nowhere to be seen.

SnailCreek looked over to her other kits, "Are you two okay?" She asked with a hint of amusement was in her voice. The calico pulled them towards her with her white tail so she could keep a better eye on them.

So. Many. Questions. Rushingmoor just wanted to sleep. Instead, he was stuck explaining every detail of romance to Stagleech. The old comment earned the younger warrior a light bop from Rushingmoor’s paw but he made sure not to do it hard enough to hurt.

“I’m not old! Twilight and I fit into the middle group- not the old group. But yes, most cats stick with their age group and middle cats have more room. Now, it’s not a rule but I honestly don’t see what a senior warrior would see romantically in a cat young enough to be their child. It would be odd for me to start becoming involved with a cat your age, wouldn’t it?”

Somehow this kid had an uncanny way of picking the most insulting ways to ask innocent questions. Thanks for the reminder that he was going to die alone, kid. Mushy scowled and rolled his eyes grouchily.

“I would be fine, Stagleech. I do intend to settle down eventually as well... I just haven’t found the right cat yet.”

Now this felt awkward, discussing his failures in the romance area with his son. To be fair, there was really only one failure. Mushy had never been too focused on finding love until he’d found it and now that he knew that it was hopeless, he wondered if he’d find someone else who made his heart beat like that. Speaking of twiggy, though, Stag was onto her as a topic.

“Yeah basically. And I definitely definitely condone and suggest that you bust into her den and drag her out. She needs more Stag time! She also needs more time with her clan mates and, frankly, the sun- I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up forgetting what it looks like.
“And warriors do understand fun, Stagleech, we just have to be responsible while we do it. Remember when you had fun with the bee hive? Did you enjoy being covered in stings afterwards? But yes, in the way you are talking about it, we are all similar to kids. No one really knows what’s going on all the time. And yes, Breezefeather has parts of him that are like a kid too. Have you ever seen him with his lady friend?”

Rushingmoor smirked and winked, thinking of the long haired molly who’d recently joined the clan, or rejoined apparently.

“Oh you have friends! What about Coyotepaw? I’ve seen you gallivanting with her before. And whoever Meltingfly is!”

"come come come come come come!" robinpaw exclaimed eagerly, gesturing to snailsie to come along. "let's go look!!" he'd gotten a chance to drag snailsie off on an adventure, and now he was going to make the most of it -- he wanted to look for snakes! snakes were cool and nice and looking for them with snailsie would be extra fun; they always knew how to make him smile. plus, having snailswirl with him meant that robinpaw wouldn't have to deal with any incidents involving eight-legged demon spawn. snailsie was a life saver when it came to those. "iiii wonder where all the snakes are!" he mumbled as he poked around one of the rocks.

hmm. maybe they wouldn't be around since it was cold outside. he didn't know if snakes didn't like the cold, but he knew he hadn't seen his worm buddies in a bit for some reason, so maybe snakes were the same. aww. "hm.." poke. poke. he put his paw on one of the rocks. "where d'ya think they're hiding?" robinpaw asked snailsie, smiling.

Otterberry nodded lightly, facing forward and looking up toward the cliffs rather than looking at her companion. Raindrift gave off a vibe that he didn’t really want to talk, but Ott didn’t let that deter her. She was perfectly willing to walk in silence, but seeing as she was new she thought it best to be amiable.

“Ah, that’s a good skill to have. I’ve done a share of raptor hunting- bumped into a cat once who had spent some time living in the mountains and he gave me some useful pointers. Looks like we should be at the cliffs soon.”

Okay, it seemed a few cats had not listened to what he said... and he felt almost bad for them but right now? he needed cats who listened to him because without a straight line of communication any attempt at forming a well functioning search would be lost. So, listening only to the cats who had actually repeated his words he began grouping them up into the teams that he would need... and he had a good idea of where to begin the search.

First though the territory, it was vast enough for a larger group of cats to cover and so he called out, "Coldamber! [ @Rainquail ] take out Fallenstorm [ @Snow Fox ] and Sparkfire [ @Lionblaze2008 ] and see if you can find any trace of Twilightstar on our territory. I have a suspicion you won't find much but its worth a try and then at least we can rule out she's been on our territory or not."

With that there was another patrol in the territory he was going to assign, and this one would most certainly be interesting, and possibly a tiny bit dangerous.
"Sparkfrost! [ @ghostwriter ] head out to the Cliffs and see what signs of Twilightstar you can find there, take Swiftstorm [ @Willowfern ] , Leafpaw [ @feather lily ] and Robinpaw [ @hope ] with you please. We don't know if there's been any issues up there but stay safe and do not take any unncessary risks. We've already lost our leader we don't need to start dropping around like flies."

Now, there was the foreign borders where he believed the highest risks would be. One could not let the other clans know that they were missing their leader... although remembering Dawnstar's words... one leader knew for certain. But first they had to double check their borders and make sure no trail was to be found anywhere within their borders.

"Seedheart! [ @Angelique ] you're leading the search team out to the Riverclan border, along with you I want Leapfury [ @Gizmo ] , Featherfur [ @~Fox~ ] and Littlepaw! [ @spade ] Take care there and if you see any Riverclan cats do not tell them why you're searching but rather that you're out patrolling."

Moving onto the next borders he decided to do them in quick succession.
"Crowspeck! [ @Kyrieknight ] you're responsible for the search party to the Thunderclan border, take along Puddlesplash [ @Puddle~ ] and Maplebird [ @Panda1440 ]"

"Rushingmoor, dear friend [ @Beau ] I want you to head back out to the Shadowclan border, along with Wolffang [ @TheNyanCatMinecart ] and Morningpaw [ @Mumble ] Be extra careful here, we never know if a strong Shadowclan got tricks up their paws and we will not want to test them at all nor give them a reason to start a fight." The tom was determined and leveled headed enough to go through with all of this and do it safely.

Now he was going to send a group over to a bit more controversial place but this was a group of cats that he trusted and knew would report back and had only had good reports from and therefore he would assign these to this place. "Echowind [ @Trouble ] Hallowstep [ @Fletcher ] and Hailpaw [ @Estelle ] go out to the seastones and see if you can pick up Twilightstar's scent among the rest. I know it might be hard but try to do your best."

Now to the kits, "Kits, I know you cannot go out. Despite how much good I know your search capabilities are. So you'll stay back here, in the camp along with the remaining warriors and me. I'm staying here to make sure the clan doesn't fall apart and to take in any reports. All patrols are to report in here and reply DIRECTLY to me and no one else!"

If cats were going to complain about not being assigned on a patrol... it wouldn't be his fault that they'd not listened to his words and then therefore they could complain but he was not going to bother with them. There was a mission right now and that was to find their leader and if clanmates couldn't put that behind them he didn't know what would happen to Windclan.

EDIT: PLEASE your cat cannot and WILL NOT be able to discover Twilightstar! They'll only be able to find STALE SCENTS! at most]
