Petalfall blinked in surprise, and maybe even, some slight understanding. She snorted, sitting down, sliding a paw in the dirt, a barley visible scuff in the ground littered with decaying leaves that had fallen from the thick canopy of trees above the spot where the two cats where. "Thunderclan is a group of cat basically, and a kittypet is a feline that is cared for by twolegs." She said with a shrug.

Cherrypaw nodded and began to spring upward the way she'd seen Tigerdawn do. She reached a limb that looked sturdy enough for the two cats a pulled herself on to it, looking down toward her mentor. "Should I climb higher?"

Maybe ThunderClan is the surprise, she thought. She had no idea what a twoleg was, but she wasn't going to bother the other cat with any more questions about what she assumed was ThunderClan's strange language. "Are you in ThunderClan?" she questioned, her eyes wide and shining.

She looked down at the kit, eyeing her collar with her ears flattened. Like other most cats in her clan it seemed, she was at kind of at the half way point between hating kittypets and being fine with them. Like other cats, she wasn't all cozy with them, but it wasn't like she would attack a kit.
She blinked. "Oh, uh yeah... I'm Petalfall, who are you?"

Tigerdawn climbed after her and rested on the branch. "This will do." She meowed shaking her head.

"My name's Dusky!" she meowed, then paused for a second. "Sooo... can I see ThunderClan?! Please?!" She begged, her eyes sparkling and gleaming. She imagined what ThunderClan would be like. It would probably the coolest thing ever!

Petalfall nearly snickered, but she managed to stop herself. She blinked when she heard the kit's question. "Great Starclan! Everyone would be looking at me..." She muttered to herself, then hardened her gaze to a glare. "No." She said sternly and flatly "Go back home."

Dusky started to tremble. "What? Why?" she asked in an emotion-choked voice. "It's not like I'm any different from you!" She had come out here to find the surprise, and now that she knew what it was and how cool it sounded, she was determined to see it. She couldn't just go back home and tell her friend she wasn't allowed to see it.

As the two cats sat side by side on the branch, they could see the sun shining over Thuderclan territory: the trees, the streams, even the clearing in the distance where their clanmates would be sharing tongues. Cherrypaw thought again about how lucky she had been to be born in Thunderclan. But a sinking loneliness tugged at her pelt. She had no siblings, and no mother. They were both in Starclan now, watching over her. "Tigerdawn, why did Starclan have to take Brackentail and Goldkit from me?" she asked, her meow sad.

Tigerdawn pricked her ears and blinked in suprise. "Because its just the way that things were..." Tigerdawn let out a sigh. "Come on, lets get back to camp."
