Thistlewing padded over the moor toward the Lonely Pine. Opening her mouth a bit to taste the air, she was met with the delicious scent of hares. She turned to Sagebrook. “You were right, Sagebrook! I can smell so many hares out today.”
Thistlewing turned her gaze back to the moor, keeping an eye out for hares. “How do you want to go about hunting them?”

Sagebrook's eyes narrowed, reflecting back on her past experiences. "If we find a hare, we could always use the good old ambush method. One of us crouches in the grass and the other chases the prey right into their paws. A perfect team setup!" Sagebrook's tail curled up happily, and she scanned the horizon, searching for an opportunity. While she looked she continued speaking. "Would you rather chase it or catch it? I'm fine either way. And-" She glanced subconsciously down at her short legs, forcing herself not to stutter. "I may be small, but don't underestimate me. I'm still plenty fast." Finally, her ears perked up. A hare had just hopped past the Pine, sniffing obliviously in the grass. Sagebrook motioned toward it eagerly and smiled at her partner. The next move was up to Thistlewing.

Hedgekit was asleep. She was flailing her paws in her sleep. She was angry, even in her dreams. Hedgekit is always angry.

Thistlewing returned Sagebrook’s smile. “I’ll chase it,” she whispered. Thistlewing had never been much good at sneaking considering her tendency to trip over her own paws. During the hunt, she’d just have to hope that she could stay upright long enough to approach the hare. Nervousness churned in her stomach. Thistlewing didn’t want to ruin the hunt. She gestured with her tail toward a particularly thick clump of grass. “That clump is downwind. Would you like to get into position before I go chase it?”

Fawnkit poked Hedgekit. Why was there a scowl on her face? She prodded him some more. "Hi! Who are you? Why are you angry? Wanna play moss-ball?" she asked. When Hedgekit did not answer, Redkit stared at Hedgekit. She gazed at her. Maybe if she kept staring Hedgekit would wake up!

Hedgekit lazily opened one eye before jumping back, claws unsheathed. She'd gotten startled. When she realized that it was just some kit who wanted to play, she relaxed again.
"How dare you wake me up. That's really rude. And I'm angry, now even more. Ugh, you know what, fine, maybe I do wanna play mossball." she muttered.
