Heron slowly padded through castle a cold winter wind ruffling his fur. He smiled as he headed towards the room that belonged to Sophie. As he neared his heart started beating faster and he sucked in some nervous breathes. Last training session his instructor, Neon, had told him and his best friend, Sophie, to practice their skills. They were good but weren’t perfect yet, of course they would never be because as research suggests perfect is not really a thing....but anyway. So that they could get better the two felines had organized a date and time they could get together and practice. Heron had been in charge of finding a nice quiet place and Sophie had been tasked(of he remembered correctly) with food and water so they wouldn’t tire out to quickly. The black panther hadn't realized he’d reached the door until he practically ran into it. Luckily Heron stopped himself right in time before he then put on a smile and knocked on the locked door.

Sophie opened the door, yawning. "Wha- oh, Heron, it's you!" She was a bit flustered but gestured for Heron to join her. "What's up?"

“Well uhm oh...maybe...you see,” Heron fumbled. He felt his face flush and internally yelled at himself. “Well you see I though we could do that magic training expedition we organized awhile back,” He mewed this time getting it right. Yes! Wait...why does talking to my best friend seem like an accomplishment? Oh dear! Have a fallen that low?

"Oh yeah. I must have forgotten." Sophie wasn't very good at remembering things. She brushed it off by giggling and sat down on her bed. "Uh.. where are we going again?"

Heron let out a light laugh and nervously entered her room. As she giggled he couldn’t help but think how cute they sounded...that’s when he took in the room. It was similar in size to his own but that’s where most of the similarities ended. Mainly because this one looked lived in...unlike his which he’d only been in once or twice. He still lived with his ma as his sister did. They both couldn’t bear to leave her. Not yet. He quickly snapped back to attention at Sophie’s question. “Oh well I was thinking the woods, there’s a really pretty place there...but it might be chilly. Or this enclosed and inside Royal garden. It’s also really uh...p-pretty,” Heron mewed trying to focus on the training session and not the really cute nick nacks around the room.

“Of course,” Sarah mewed as she hobbled over to a basin and started cleaning the dirt off the clothes. After a moment she asked , “Anything interesting happen lately?”

"Sure! That would be great!" Sophie told Heron, standing back up and padding towards the door. She stopped before she reached it however, remembering something. "I should probably change. Hilda would kill me if I got my sorcerer robes dirty." Sophie flicked her fluffy tail in annoyance as she looked down at her long flowing gown that her mentors had insisted on her wearing. It was getting harder to avoid tradition, especially now since Sophie was older.

Heron winced in sympathy. The servants around the castle always brought him plain white clothes to wear and they wouldn’t listen to him when he said he didn’t need nor want 50 of the same, plain white outfit! H’ed been forced to wear them a lot so he’d had to...adjust them a wee bit. “You should try spicing it up a little! Add some flowers or plants, or maybe stitch some patterns on! It’s what I did with mine! I even add a symbol!” The black and silver feline suggested brightly as he walked out the door so he could give Sophie some privacy.

“Oh no reason!” Sarah said hurriedly. She didn’t want to seem like she was prying. She was honestly just curious. Due to her son and daughter’s jobs they weren’t at home often -though they still lived there-and she didn’t have many people to talk to. The village woman were surprisingly boring. Honestly who talks about what stall is the best for food for HOURS? How?
