Padding into the clearing, Skunkblaze shook out her fur in a small cloud of dust. The last time she had gone hunting she had ventured into the tunnels, and now she was a big dusty. Stretching, she prepared to head out again.

Skyleaf shook her head. "No , I didn't catch that. Haven't been on a hunt yet today." she meowed. "But you can have the rest, if you want. You're right, it is a awesome piece of prey." she added, pushing the prey nearer to Twigkit with her paws. "How old are you? I don't want to be giving you real prey if it's not good for you. I don't want to get in trouble with your mother."

"Alright, then." Skyleaf mewed, happy that she hadn't given the kit anything bad. "Then it won't be too long until you become an apprentice." she added. Kits were normally eager to become apprentices, right? Some even snuck out of camp sometimes.

"That's for Twilightstar to decide." mewed Skyleaf. "But I'm sure you'll get a good one." she watched the little kits. She kind of liked kits, but didn't want any. That would distract her from warrior duties. And that'd be bad.

Skyleaf shook her head. "No. I like being a warrior. Being a queen would distract me from my warrior duties. I don't want that. But I do like kits, don't misunderstand me." she meowed, looking back at Twigkit. Kits were nice to have around, but she just simply didn't want her own.
