Make sure to congratulate Versailles on their promotion from c-mod in training to fully fledged chat moderator! They've worked very hard, and we can't wait to see where they go from here!
Yippie! “No freezin’ for this duckling today!” Take that, Leafbare. Go cry in the corner of the clearing and leave her alone. Who knew hounds could keep ducks away from the cold; and considering the size difference the two might as well be like a duck n’ hound duo! But if they’re fluffy, anything works as a heater. And the Quacky would rather have that! And she had a buddy to talk to. So it’s a win-win for her no matter which way you out it
Oh, another MOON??? Man, that’s like..waiting a whole year in apprentice time! I guess it’s warmer, but the snow not helping with anything. Quite the opposite” they’re only good for snowcats, and even then, the only snowthinhs Quackpaw makes are blobbed-shaped ducks. Let’s ignore that she really only knew ducks from description and never actually saw one. She’ll see one someday she’s sure of it. A duck would just be walkin’ around in Thunderclan and from some bird magic she’ll be able to tell it’s a duck instantly “more bugs come out in newleaf, riiight? Like, more beetles and caterpillars and butterflies roaming around?” If those guys wouldn’t try escaping she would’ve turn them into pets and buddies to bother. But urgh, that’d be bothersome to make happen. And oh yea, guess the flowers would make things look more interesting than..just..whatever was in leafbare

MMmmm, point, the snow was helping nothing, though now that it was going melty in places Mudhound saw one benefit. "Ah but when the snow melts we get mud. When we're not gonna to freeze our tails off doing it Imma show you mud rolling, its the best~" Nothing beats getting dirty and gross for fun.
Bugs were fun too though! "Yep yep! As soon as the snow fades and it gets warm theres gonna be bugs and flowers everywhere! I know some good spots for them if you want me to show you?" It could be a real fun outing for the two of them. Mudhound hadnt got to do outings with their kiddos in awhile, Sprucejumper needed to be dragged to it and they'd been to sick to do things with Wolfhawk. Speaking of...
Looking around for the tom they hadnt seen in a bit the tripod grinned, spotting him and waved wildly except.... He didnt look so good right now, what was up with him. He wasnt sick right? Wolfhawk couldnt be sick. The hornet felt a bolt of panic before stuffing it down into denial. It wasnt the case nope nope nope, sickness had taken their mate and nephew it wasnt going to take their puppy.
Okay, alright. Time to get this show on the road before everyone froze their tails off. Bumblestar did a quick once-over to make sure the kits were actually staying in the nursery like they were told to before moving ahead.
"First things first, Doepaw's swapped back to Fawnpaw." She nodded in the apprentice's direction. "Next, just off the cuff real quick, reassignments - Fawnpaw and Mallowswarm, Beetlepaw and Alpinemoon, Indigopaw and Raccoontail, Darkpaw and Nightwhisper."
A cold gust of wind buffeted her coat, and she shrunk down against the Stormcrest, ears flattening. "Blackkit, Stormkit, Beetlekit, Bluekit, Hollykit! You five hurry on up here so we can get this done with quick."
If you have not posted with your kit approaching the Stormcrest by the time I post on 2/19, they will be skipped over and you will need to resubmit a ceremony request.

The bitter cold sent shivers throughout her body as she watched the meeting continue on. Her emotionless gaze cast over the kits that were going to be gathering up there soon. So far, the she-cat hadn't needed to deal with any of them. Did Bumblestar do that on purpose? Did she realize how poorly of a mentor Treetiger would be? Probably not, but Treetiger's toxic mind couldn't help but think just that. The she-cat would pinned her ears as another cold gust of wind came through the clearing. A warm presence seemed to appear, shielding her and she'd glance over to see Sparrowpelt, a welcomed face. Her attention turned back to the leader.

Both his mate and kit had gone missing from the clan recently. His heart was torn in two. Still, Sparrowpelt pressed on. He had to remain strong for Lynxpaw and for his friends that were still around. Heavy paws led him to one of those friends, today: Treetiger. She seemed to be shivering in the cold and he sat beside her, blocking the piercing wind from hitting her. His thicker, longer, pelt was capable of shielding her a bit. He was sure her short pelt wouldn't last long here. His gaze turned to the leader after a brief dip of his head to her, focusing on the ceremonies that were to take place.
Alpinemoon listened to Bumblestar's announcements carefully. Once she heard her name, she immediately straightened up and looked around nervously. Soon she realized that she had become a mentor...to Beetlepaw. Alpinemoon froze in fear and this was truly unexpected for her. Why would Bumblestar reassign an apprentice to HER?!
Her breathing quickened and her fur began to fluff up, making her bigger than she actually was. She could not think properly. Did she have to go up to The Stormcrest and greet her new mentee?
This was a problem for both Alpinemoon and Beetlepaw! She had never talked to Beetlepaw before and she was somehow nervous around younger cats. How was Alpinemoon going to teach Beetlepaw if she was too scared/shy? She thought if she had to teach a group of kits and/or apprentices, it would be impossible.
Chasmpaw hardly knew Alpinemoon. She knew that Alpinemoon was shy and rarely talked to other cats. Once Bumblestar called on the kits to become apprentices, she started to remember her ceremony.
It felt like a short time ago. Chasmpaw still could remember it clearly. Good for her! She soon felt a bit sad since none of her siblings weren't with her. The young feline tried to look for Dragonflycliff, which was her mother.
It was all a numb, distant buzzing for Creepingpaw. The droning of cats before they quelled for Bumblestar’s high rank announcements were all but a muffled cacophony to the apprentice’s ears. Creepingpaw gazed out of the apprentice’s den apathetically. His eyes once vibrant as new spring leaves were now greyed and muddied with turmoil. The striped and silvery apprentice trodded with heavy paws as he silently joined the gathering but remained towards the back and at a distance as he sat on his haunches and watched like a ghostly figure.
Ever since he learned the news of Shockhoney’s death, Creepingpaw felt nothing but distance. Distance from himself, his feelings and dreams. He left ThunderClan to save Lavendersong who was clinging to life, yet lost Shockhoney in the process. His dear, best and only friend. Could he even protect anyone? The weight of the guilt and unspoken words sunk heavily in Creepingpaw’s heart, the air around him almost palpably overbearing. He couldn’t take it. What exactly even happened? Why didn’t she tell him how bad things had gotten? Creepingpaw’s long claws dug into the earth from pure frustration. It was the irritation of knowing he may never get those answers.
As Bumblestar announced the reassignments. Creepingpaw couldn’t help but cringe slightly. It stung. Seeing these newly named apprentices, knowing that Shockhoney could’ve been here to get her first apprentice… Ah, here it comes.
Creepingpaw’s eyes, like pools of jade, began to well with tears. But he would never acknowledge them. Taking a breath of the icy and frigid air, Creepingpaw exhaled as a single tear raced down his cheek. Lowering his gaze down at his white paws, Creepingpaw shook his head and wondered if it was a good idea to even leave the apprentice’s den today anyways.

Rosekit
For Sparrow
Oh this guy was the one that Drizzlemom was around often, mates, what a weird thing to be. Rosekit didn't really understand love and partners like most cats would at her age, even if their views were childish and innocent about the topic. If love was a thing that was just given, why didn't her stay with the clan, why was her mom a traitor. She's seen how cats look at her, seen how they stared at Kestrelkit and maybe those stares are why her sister has just disappeared. Drizzlemom has also disappeared recently, and her cousins.
"Sparrowpelt!" Rosekit made her way through the crowd and wasted no time or thought about things like 'personal space' as she wiggled closer into his flanks to try and make him shield all of the wind. It was awfully cold, and even though her fur was pretty beyond pretty, it wasn't as thick as she would like it to be. No worries, she still small, so hiding behind a warrior can be as good as sitting in a den... kind of. "What're you doing? Where is Drizzlecloud? Why hasn't she been in the nursery? Are you and Drizzlecloud mates? What does being mates mean? Is it about love? I don't understand love." She spoke her words as though she didn't unleash a tornado of questions very suddenly on a tom that she honestly didn't know all too well.
[ If I am remembering correctly, Drizzle raised the Springkits and stuff after Spring's passing.. ]

Sparrowpelt would glance down at the sudden presence of another squirming around trying to seek warmth in his fur. It didn't take long for Sparrowpelt to recognize Rosekit and he'd press down into her gently to shield her from the wind better. Even scooping her aside to sit between his large front paws so his chest and belly fluff would blanket her. Really, she should've stayed in the nursery, but Drizzlecloud wasn't there to contain them anymore, so he wasn't surprised that they were here.
However, that left him with a sudden realization. Should he be hanging out in the nursery more often? Should he be sleeping with them and ensuring their safety? The world was crashing down around him, but he still held a gentle light in his eyes and a smile on his face. He supposed his family wasn't totally gone. The Spring-kittens were still. They were basically his adoptive kits and family.
"I'm not sure where Drizzlecloud is..." his voice cracked towards the end, but he quickly cleared his throat. He didn't want to scare the kitten, no. "We are mates. I love her very much, I have for a few seasons now," Sparrowpelt spoke more lightly. Unbeknownst to him, their one year anniversary was coming up on them. "Love makes cats a family. When you love someone, they're your family in some way, if that helps," the large tabby spoke, leaning down and rasping his tongue over the top of her head with a gentle purr. Sparrowpelt had always wanted a redo on family and with only the spring-kittens left, they might be his only option, not that that was a bad thing. He just didn't want to mess up or lose them. He'd already grown rather protective over them.
Fernwhisper had been staring blankly into the distance thinking about how she should go about teaching Lightningpaw before being dragged back into reality by the announcements. So many reassignments… Why are there so many lately anyways?

Oakkit had been somewhat comfortable even with the cold air hitting her face from time to time, but when the to-be-apprentices started nearing the Stormcrest leaving the nursery entrance wide open Oakkit decided, even though she really didn’t want to, to go near one of the nursery walls to be protected from the wind just a bit more, though now she didn’t have such a good view of the clearing…
