Bristle was almost in shock that he had actually managed it, hardly believing the reality for a moment as he stood above her. Apple's snarky remark had brought him right back down to earth. Rolling his eyes Bristle stepped off her, his heart still pumping furiously, both at the excitement of catch Apple, and the closeness they had just experienced. "Hmph. I'm not anywhere near as fat as a badger! And you looked like a squirrel." He commented as an afterthought, not really sure if that qualified as a jab back.

Bristle licked at his paws, he had taken proper care not to get them too dirty before making his pounce, not wanting to cover Apple in any filth.

"Uh, yeah!" Appleshine snorted, "I was getting into character!" She noted that he had taken a length to keep his paws clean when he had pounced on her, and she tilted her head to the side. Had he done that for her? Why did that make her belly spin?

The medicine cats yelp was disgusted as it was alarmed, he'd figured it had to be a minor injury that the apprentice was stubbornly ignoring like the small cuts around his stomach; An injury that was better treated but not a critical one. That one on his leg however! Snakeheart gawped at the bone deep gash the apprentice had been refusing to get treated for a moment before recovering and snapping harshly.

Im treating this now before it ends up killing you."

His snapping was more in line with how Snakeheart treated his clanmates and not the polite mannerism he'd been taking during the visit but he'd been blindsided here. The apprentice could take his scolding in exchange for the medicine cat saving his dumb tail here. With that Snakeheart stormed off grabbing burdock cobwebs and a single poppyseed from the herb storage here doing his best to hurry.

"I don't have a mentor, I train myself," Said Mudpaw, ignoring the rampage the medicine cat seemed to be going on. If he died then he died, that was fine with him. He didn't want cats wasting their time on him if he was simply going to die anyway. What was the point? He simply was here to serve the clan. There were plenty of apprentices to take his place if he died.
