Snakepuff sighed in relief. If anything and she meant anything bad would happen to her she knew her kits would be ok. Especially if clouded’paw took care of them. Feeling the pain surge she bit back a snappy retort against starclan and squirmed a bit in the nest below pepperleaf. She gazed at the she cat for a moment before a small smile bloomed on her face. Whatever you family did know it’s not your fault. And whatever they night do in the future will never involve you. For you are pure and kind at heart so if anything where to actually happen to me I entrust my kits to you. I do have another kit from a older litter named clouded’paw. He’s a bit distant but he cares greatly for everyone.

Pepperleaf smiled sighing softly. "Thank you, it means a whole lot. Not many have told me those words. I will care for Cloudedpaw and your kits trust nothing happens.." she meowed. "While we wait for the pushing would you like to give name suggestions? Then we can name them when we see them" she said softly. "It's what i did with mine...you don't have to though." she meowed with a shy flick of her ear.

she thought for a moment before mewing. id like to name one brightkit and another goldenkit. would you like to name one? her voice was softly spoken. for some reason she felt a bit off now. her last birthing wasnt this bad so what was wrong with her. could it be the amount of kits?

Pepperleaf smiled. "Oh beautiful names. Umm...what about Nightkit?" she said. Pressing her paw lightly against the she-cats flank. "Oh! Get ready to push!" she said softly. Giving the she-cat a stick to bite on.

snakepuff bit down heavily on the stick she could feel it starting to break under her teeth. tears flooded her eyes as she heaved. not soon afterwards a small golden bundle was laying next to her. green eyes widened at the kits beauty, golden and back markings swirled on the kits fur. nuzzling the small body closer to her she let the small thing suckle. golden'kit welcome to the world. however the stench of bood was heavy and snake was growing tired by the second.

Pepperleaf purred. "A healthy kit! Good, two more to go" she urged. Looking at the queens stick splinter as a completely black kit was dark blue eyes and a small ring of white around his body slipped out, letting out a screech the moment he was born. "One more to go! You can do this!"

the heavy stench of blood was stronger now. the once green moss was now dyed red by blood and oozed slighting. snakes eyes drooped slightly. her words now somewhat slurred night'kit..ill name them night'kit. its a lovely name pepper thank you for the idea. one more? no it felt like two more maybe even three. this time when the next kit was born it had no life. grief flooded the queen as she licked at her unmoving kit. ill call her hope'kit. in hopes she'll make it to starclan safely. her body shuddered as her eyes drooped. she was tired...and it felt that if she slept everything would be ok. wrapping her tail around her kits she gazed up at pepperleaf. grief and wonder shimmering in her eyes. then her eyes slowly closed and her breathing also slowly ceased.

Her voice rising in a loud wail. "No! Snakepuff no!" she wailed. Her eyes closing with grief as she curled around her fellow queens remaining kits. "No!" she wailed over and over, letting out a little gasp as Goldenkit and Nightkit stared suckling on her. "Oh babies...I'll care for you..." she whispered. Wailing to the nursery walls.
Mintbranch raced into the den at his sisters crys. "Pepperleaf?" he meowed, his eyes growing wider as he saw his sisters muzzle buried in a dead queens pelt and two new kits suckling his sister for milk. He drooped his head to his sister's pelt. "She was a good warrior." he whispered. He didn't know Snakepuff well but he knew she was a good warrior.
Fernkit padded to his mother. "Mama! I'm scared" he wailed.
Pepperleaf wrapped her tail around all three kits as they suckled. Fernkit had joined them. "It's ok darlings, I'm here. It's going to be alright." she whispered as her voice shook.

the small kit shivered at the touch of cold air. letting out a tired mewl he struggled closer to the warm thing, its touch so calming and sweet. goldenkit what was that? he didnt know but what he did know was hunger. inching closer he began to suckle. a few moments later and another squirmy thing was next to him. what was it. night'kit? pepper'leaf? hope'kit?! what where those things. letting out a confused mewl he felt the body he was next to grow cold. then another body had wrapped im and the other wriggly thing up. fernkit?! so many odd thing. it hurt his head to think so he didnt think and instead focused on nursing.

It was easy for anyone with working eyes to see that Dappledleaf had been nearing the kitting phase for days. So now, as the cream-furred queen settled in her nest in the nursery, Larkfire found herself pacing the floor outside. Her mother was kitting. Did any of these lunatics know how dangerous that was? How risky and uncertain? For all Lark knew, Dappledleaf could be dying. That was a thing, right? Queens died during the process? Cold sweat teased the corners of Lark's face, causing the former loner to halt in her tracks.

But her worry soon proved to be for naught, as Dappledleaf's voice drifted out of the nursery, and Lark ducked inside the dimlit den. Within moments she was beside the forever queen, brow drawn together with concern. Peering over Dappledleaf's shoulder proved that there were new additions to ShadowClan; five young, healthy.. (aside from the one) kits. Settling down beside Dappledleaf, Larkfire offered her adoptive mother a small smile. "They're lovely." She murmured softly, fiery hues darting to the entrance as a lean figure appeared in the doorway.

Seriously, Butterflybrook was getting rather tired of being left out of her sisters schemes. Really, she was a part of the family too! Huffing, the cream and grey damsel slunk over to the entrance of the nursery, heterochromatic hues catching a glimpse of three cats slipping inside. Oh, that had been the silly baby enforcer, the er..whats-his-name-kid, and Foxcall. She would have known the other kid's name too, but Dappledleaf had so many children it was getting hard to keep track.

Slithering her way over to the den, Butterflybrook pasted a grin on her face before stepping in, split-colored orbs picking up the cluster of cats at Dappledleaf's side. "Why hello, sister!" She yapped cheerfully, tail swishing behind her. Making a show of peering down at the five kittens, Butterflybrook offered her older halfsister a mock pout. "Oh, come on. You didn't think to invite me? Hey look at this one," Here, a gesture towards Sunflowerkit. "Looks just like me, what's its name?"
