This, this felt like a really bad time, but it was too late now, wasn't it. And on top of that, he'd started becoming more and more aware of just how many cats had crammed themselves into this den. And for both those reasons, the young tom was rather glad when some of them began leaving, Particularly that angry Rat. Although, he really wasn't sure what to make of any of this, however amusing it might be from his viewpoint. But once Lionstar addressed him directly, his icy gaze settled upon the other tom once again, eyeing him carefully for a few seconds before giving his answer.

"I've been looking for a place to settle down, but I also want to actually accomplish something. This, your Riverclan, it seems like the best place that I could actually do that," He paused here, still a bit unsure himself of his exact reasons for wanting to join, but he truly did. to give himself a moment longer to think, the white furred tom passed his tongue over his thick shoulder fur a couple of times until it was neatened out. But for the time, he both had no idea how to continue, and was soon distracted by yet another cat asking to come in. Seriously, how many cats were there that needed to speak with Lionstar? Although, Mire was more shocked by it than anything else, if also quite amused for whatever reason.

See, here was a cat Lionstar could get behind. Ambitious and he had the capacity of intelligence? Lionstar liked that a lot, now that Fallenstorm wasn't here to try to sell him.

"You may join.." he began to tell him, making a point to ignore the rude cat that barged into his den mid-conversation. "But you'll be starting off as an apprentice, meaning you'll undergo training before you earn both your warrior name and free reign of the territory. I require apprentices to be accompanied by a warrior if they're to leave camp unless you have permission from me." Dirtfur, having fallen from Lionstar's favor, no longer had this ability. "Go ahead and find Fallenstorm-- have her show you around camp and get settled in. I'll do a Clan meeting shortly to officially make you a Clan member. Sound like a plan?"

Mire couldn't hide that faint excitement that'd seeped into his expression before he composed himself again. Or at least, as much as he could. He gave a quick dip of his head after Lionstar had finished speaking. That seemed reasonable, although a good bit of it left him with a few questions. But those he could just as well ask Fallenstorm, rather than take up more of this cat's time than he had already. “Yes, that sounds just fine,” he purred, whiskers twitching as he got to his paws. And, giving the tom a final nod, he'd turned and slipped from the den.

And now, there seemed a light spring in his step. He was excited, understandably, but also a bit anxious. That, however, didn't really show at all. You would've had to really know him well to have noticed, or be very keen on picking up at such things. And as it was, there was a pretty good chance that nobody would've.

Now that the Mirecat was gone, Lionstar could turn his attention to Rudeflight. "When has it ever been socially acceptable to barge into someone's den while they're having an important discussion?"

He was annoyed by the behavior of this warrior, though it probably didn't help he had just been swarmed by a bunch of idiots.

Owlflight was extremely embarrassed. "I'm sorry for barging in." The tabby tom shuffled his paws and looked at the ground. His ears fell against his head as he struggled to find what to say next. "I came in to talk about my apprentice, Ashpaw, but I can leave if your having an important discussion." It was hard to make eye contact with the leader as he looked to the ground again.

[BEAR.]

"I was having an important discussion when you barged in." Lionstar twitched his tail impatiently, gaze locked on the tom. "Ashpaw..? The outsider that joined?" More quietly, "did you lose her already?"

Sandwhisker was really excited. She had always wanted to help her clanmates. "Lionstar, I'd like to be medicine cat because I love helping my clanmates. I'm enthusiastic to learn, and even though I only know a little about herbs, I'm compassionate and eager to share with StarClan. I'd really love this position to get a chance to give back to the clan. I've been so fortunate to be a RiverClan warrior, and now I would like a chance to help everyone who has helped me on my path." Sandwhisker stopped and waited for a reply.

After settling into a seated position following the meeting, Lionstar cocked his head at the warrior that entered his den. "Okay.. so what makes you stand out.. from the rest of the crowd? I'm not looking for a generic medicine cat, Sandwhisker."

[ @Morningstar -- don't mention or quote me please! ]

[aspen.]

"Well, I'm really enthusiastic, and I want this position so I can REALLY be a help to my clan. I don't want to look ambitious, but there are many warriors in this StarClan blessed clan, and a medicine cat is a really important position. Also, I'm able to adapt to change, work under pressure, I am really good at handling sick cats! I'm not afraid to get messy, and I'm not afraid to get sick. I'm willing to risk my life for my clan and other clans if necessary. I also have a mind of my own, and I'm not afraid to speak up for what I believe in front of a gathering or Medicine cat meeting." Sandwhisker finished.

[BEAR.]

"I just said I wasn't looking for a generic medicine cat, Sandwhisker!" In a flash, Lionstar had hooked a piece of moss with his claws and flung it at Sandwhisker! "If you can't find something unique about yourself, why would I want you as one of my colleagues??? We're not here to be bored to death. lady!!"

By now, he was disinterested in her audition and lashed his tail. "I've heard enough.. you're dismissed! Next!"
