Watching him leave, Snowypaw couldn't help but feel baffled by the entire situation. The apology had been nice, but the discussion after it was... interesting. Regardless, the young apprentice gave themselves a shake before trotting towards the fresh kill pile, picking through it until a small rabbit was spotted. They pulled it out from the pile and took it over to the edge of the clearing, settling down for a quick bite.

So much had happened in so little time. Wolffang's head felt like it was spinning as he padded across to the clearing. Why was WindClan always the one that was targeted? Was it because the other Clans, specifically ShadowClan, viewed them as "weak"? His lip curled angrily. Why couldn't they stand up against them and prove them wrong? They had to have the strongest cats at the front lines, to put ShadowClan in their place. In fact, WindClan had driven ShadowClan out of its territory once. Angrily, he found his paws taking him in the direction of one of the corners of the clearing.

A flash of snowy-white fur caught his eye and he recognized Snowypaw. Wolffang blinked and stopped. It was odd to think that the mischievous apprentice was actually his half-sibling through Featherwhisker. He actually had a lot of those. If his mother were still in the Clan, she would've made a much better permanent queen. She liked having kits, and didn't want to get any scars that would ruin her pretty appearance. Just like Rosebriar, although his sister hadn't managed to find any toms who had bothered to stay around. Wolffang never knew why he'd never acknowledged Snowypaw as a relative. He'd been so focused on all the stuff with Deadpaw and Morningpaw that the other cat had slipped his mind.

Maybe he could change that? Wolffang padded over to Snowypaw with a quick dip of his head. "Hello, Snowypaw," he meowed to them. His broad gray head inclined to the side somewhat. "Do you mind if I sit next to you? We... haven't gotten to talking much." That much was true. Hopefully, Snowypaw would accept. Wolffang could use some cats who he was closer to in the Clan. That could smooth some things over for him, hopefully.

~ ASHFEATHER ~

Ashfeather stretched out in the WindClan clearing, looking up at the sky with a small sigh. It was greenleaf, so why was it always so cloudy? Sure, the clouds were scattered right now, hopefully marking an end to the bad weather that they'd had previously. It was also getting a little warmer, though not as warm as it should be in greenleaf. It made her worry about the amount of prey that could be caught; if they were all hiding in their holes, then what would happen when a patrol came out to catch them? At least the newfound sun might drive some of them out. There, that was a more positive way of thinking.

After her breakdown in the clearing, Ashfeather had gotten better. Watching over Twilightstar's kits, as well as some time for self reflection upon herself, had lightened her mood and made her feel better. She'd been trying her best to think happier thoughts to combat the negative ones that kept appearing. It was hard, and sometimes it felt like a single strand of grass was holding her together. But other times, it worked. For example, the sun was coming out now. Prey would come out for the sun, and if a cat was hunting, they'd be able to come back with a lot. See? Wasn't that more positive?

Ashfeather didn't like excessively hot weather, but she could deal with it. Cold, damp, dreary weather was not her thing, though. Her mangled, frozen-in-place tail, as well as her crooked jaw, always ached and got stiff if she was in that sort of weather for too long. That was why she loved greenleaf: it was warm, there was plenty of prey, it was hopefully more dry, and cats just seemed to be happier. See? Happy thoughts. Ashfeather took a deep breath. When she'd been a kit, apprentice, and younger warrior, she would've tried to hide herself. Sometimes, she still wanted to. However, now... now she was trying to accept who she was and what she looked like.

She couldn't stop wishing that things had been different. If only she could see out of both eyes, use her tail without it being stuck in a tangled mess that haloed her, eat properly without food spilling from her crooked mouth. But she had dealt with this for so long. If her Clanmates hated her, then they had a reason. Ashfeather couldn't change that, as much as she might want to. But WindClan seemed to be really accepting toward her. Twilightstar had entrusted her to look after her kits, for StarClan's sake. That in itself was a shock. Ashfeather loved looking after them... but she missed her biological kits every day. If only they could return to WindClan, and she could see them again...

Happy thoughts. The skinny black she-cat took a deep breath, staring down at her paws, then looked back up. She was so grateful that she was in WindClan. Even though they faced troubles, they always came out of them. Twilightstar was a good and fair leader. Wolffang, as deputy, did scare her; however, surprisingly, he hadn't used his power to abuse her. How come? Maybe it was because of that one outburst... he'd been a bit... nicer lately, it seemed. Although he always glared at her with disgust. Some things never change. But things were hopefully looking up. Ashfeather had to go along with life and roll with what happened. No matter what they thought, and how badly their words hurt, she would work strongly to be the best for her Clan. She'd do anything for them and put all her effort into doing it right and benefitting them.

Breezedapple

Breezedapple cheered for Mushrrompaw and Bearpaw. They looked all so happy. There mentors, too. Two more apprentices, on their way to become warriors. “Mushroompaw! Bearpaw!”

Dirtpaw

Dirtpaw called out Mushroompaw and Bearpaw,s names, glad to have to more denmates. He remembered Mushroompaw. He was really funny.

Twigpaw

Twigpaw jumped around joyfully, shouting his new denmates names. Yay, new apprentices! And Mushroompaw was one of them! Mushroompaw was aewsome, it would be great to share a den again.

Cricketfire did his best not to flinch. His poor kit, he failed Twigpaw. "I, uh, just wanted to see how you were doing?" Wow, he sounded... stupid and awkward, like a angsty kit. "I haven't been able to get to know you very well, and I um, wanted to? I mean, if you want to, I understand I've been a crappy dad..." It was the bitter truth, but he didn't know how Twigpaw would take it. Hopefully he would notice the blatant sincerity?

Twigpaw lanes over and rubbed his head underneath Cricketfire’s shin, something he had always wanted to do. “But you’re still my dad!” He chirped happily, which was the truth. And he still loved him, too. “And I do want to get to know you, I really do.” Still the truth, plain and simple.

Snowclaw stared out from the warriors den, her eyes studying Ashfeather. Ashfeather had lay in the same spot for a long time, unmoving. 'She's probably just lost in thought' thought the pondering she-cat.
Snowclaw never knew Ashfeather that well. "A freak" is what she once heard another cat call the deformed she-cat. Though she had never thought of Ashfeather as that, that was the only thing she really knew about her.
'I should check on her She is my clanmate after all, who I should try to help' The frosty cat thought 'Not that I care that much' She was quick to add. With an unpleasant face, she got up, lifting her heavy body off the ground. She padded over to Ashflower, her shadow hovering over the scarred cat. Hesitating, she asked "Why do you look so gloomy?"

Padding along, Swiftwinds mind had left the moor. Instead, thinking about her new apprentice, Bearpaw. She wasn’t sure if Twilightstar had made the right choice appointing her as a mentor for a new apprentice, she was sure there were plenty of other older cats with more experience that had the..’why was I picked again?’ blinking, she struggled to remember as that thought rang, ‘ah, right, because Twilightstar said I have a caring and attentive nature’.

Of course, she hadn’t spoken out against herself becoming a mentor, instead during the meeting she had kept her jaw sealed. She didn’t want to make Bearpaw feel bad, but she also didn’t want to fail him. Sighing, Swiftwind plopped down in the place she had been walking.

Originally, she had come out to hunt. She wanted to contribute while allowing her mind to take in everything, but now it was only her thoughts that kept her here. She was going to do her best, that’s all she could promise to herself, she just hoped her best would help her apprentice succeed.

Yet, with all the thoughts stirring in her mind, it made it easy for this she to be snuck up on.

Snowclaw watched Swiftwind. He looked as if he was lost in thought. 'Strange. Seems a lot of cats lately are having difficulty doing their duty' she thought bitterly. 'Guess I'll just have to "help" remind her' Padding softly behind the she-cat so as not to be heard, the frosty she-cat opened her mouth and barked in a loud voice "What are you doing!" in less of a question way.

Hearing the voice of a fellow clan mate, Swiftwind nearly jumped out of her skin. Turning around, she let out a soft scoff “I'm hunting and thinking, you didn’t have to yell!” Swiftwind didn’t like the loud noise, taking a breath. Why couldn’t she find a moment of peace to think over everything? Sure, the clan was a bit more on edge, but everyone needed a chance to think.

Swiftwind, being unusually small for a cat her age, didn’t look much intimidating as she puffed her fur up. It was to look intimidating at all though, she was quite annoyed that Snowclaw decided it would be a good idea to sneak up on a unsuspecting cat “why did you come up behind me? I could’ve clawed you.”

"If you came out here to hunt, at least act like it" she stated in a harsh, but quiet voice.

A hiss rose in Swiftwind’s throat, her tail tip flicking as she takes in a breath. Flattening her fur, Swiftwind blinks her yellow eyes towards Snowclaw “of course I came out to hunt, but out here also allows thoughts to be picked through.” she was quite upset that she was being bugged.
