Re: ThunderClan Stormcrest
 Wasppaw
#TheWasp
#BugFamily
She's still not quite over the death and near death of people important to her, and she doesn't know how to talk about it so uhhh yeah.
TW: Guilt, Thoughts of Death, Grief
She's been quiet since the patrol arrived into camp and she had thought she was watching her father die in front of her... so much has happened, her siblings, her dad, Bumblestar, the yelling, the idea of his death that she was so sure about as she watched him collapse. Wasppaw was grieving, even though Spiderthroat had gotten up and now in the present she was staring at him as the deputy addressed the clan and made a plan of attack. It felt like a ghost. It felt unreal. Like her mind was so convinced that something was wrong but everything had turned out fine and... did she want Spiderthroat to die? Is that why her brain seemed so stuck on the notion??
No. No. No. No. NONONONONO! Wasppaw didn't! She didn't. She couldn't. She loved her dad, she loved her siblings- everything has been distant but it was never out of fading love, she loved her clan and her family and her leader and everything Thunderclan. She didn't want anyone to die- she wanted the otters to die for what they did, and painfully at that. But then why was she grieving something that didn't happen? Wasppaw was frozen to the ground, watching as her siblings swarmed after their father for affection before he was off once more even though he shouldn't be... not so quickly after what happened.
Wasppaw.. couldn't move. Her head dropped, golden eyes refusing to pick up from the dust around her paws. Something was wrong... something was wrong with her.

DRAGONFLYKIT
Thunderclan Kit ~ 10 moons ~ She/Her
"If you're going to be mean, then do it elegantly."

Dragonflykit had purred slightly, and rubbed her soft head against Spiderthroat when he came to see them, but otherwise had refrained from speaking much. She was a little unsure at where she stood with her siblings and family, currently, but knew she would find her place again soon enough. At least Cricketpaw was pleased with her.
The dark russet and brown, cream speckled she-cat let her gaze drift, sunrise coloured eyes not missing any detail, the usual dark twinkle still there. Soon enough, Dragonfly noticed Wasppaw. She didn't look all that well, so after only half a heartbeat of hesitation, the pretty she-cat drifted elegantly towards her sister. "Wasppaw." She said, putting a cream paw gently on the apprentice's shoulder. "Wasppaw, sweet sister, look at me." Waiting half a second, for Waspy to receive and respond to the sweet instruction. "Something is bothering you." Dragonflykit was careful not to let her own face show any feelings other than concern, and graceful nonchalance, partly because she didn't need Wasp to see how freaked out she was inside.

Re: ThunderClan Stormcrest
• she/her • 12 moons • thunderclan/apprentice •
primal instinct
She hadn’t been showing her face. She had been trying to catch up, trying to be seen…but she was also trying to hide away. Quite the contradicting one she was. However, she listened from far enough away, watching her siblings all..be together. She needed to spend more time with them. She missed them. Then papa—she knew of his previous injury…he should still be healing, yes?
This caused a small, frown. FireflyPaw didn’t care who she had to push by to get to him, she brushed through the crowd, then her siblings, before bumping her head to papas chest.

Re: ThunderClan Stormcrest
Cicadapaw
| He/him | ThunderClan Apprentice (36/100) | #BugFamily @sleepyjax @Dolomedes @Starfall
ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ○ꊞ
Cicadapaw felt Hornetpaw lean into his touch, heard her speak so highly of their father and suddenly there was a lump in his throat, unable to speak. His ears flicked back, and his chest felt tight. He wanted to speak - wanted to tell Spiderthroat off for being reckless, for pushing through pain like he was invincible. He even opened his mouth to try, the words on the tip of his tongue, but nothing came. No sound as he took in the sight of his father; wary, tired... yet solid in a way he couldn't describe.
[Tap]. His father hopped gingerly down from the Stormcrest and leaned in, pressing his forehead against Cicadapaw’s. The apprentice went utterly still. Then Spiderthroat moved on, doing the same for the others crowding around for their own silent touch. Cicadapaw’s breath hitched.
You’ve got to be strong. Look how good Dad is holding it together. He tried to convince himself, clinging to the thought. Dad was still standing. Still leading. But Cicadapaw wasn’t like his father. He wasn’t unshakable. He wasn’t fearless.
The tears came, unwelcome and burning. He ducked his head as they welled up and rolled silently down his cheeks. He didn’t sob, didn’t make a sound - but he couldn't stop the trembling in his shoulders. Couldn’t stop feeling like a scared kit as he tried to accept the fact that his father was going back out there.
The apprentice turned away in frustration and, by chance, caught sight of Wasppaw - her face crumpled in anxious grief, breaking apart without a sound. It was like a slap to the face.
You have to get it together. Now wasn’t the time for tears. Not with his siblings watching. Not with his father watching.
He knew five things. Their father was alive. He was strong. He loved them. And no matter what Cicadapaw said, there would be no stopping him from doing what he'd set his mind to do.
But there was one thing he could do. He remembered his father’s words from not so long ago - words that now carried more weight than before:
Be sure to watch after your sisters.
That, he could do. That, he would do. Not just for his sisters, for all of his siblings.
