Strange day today, first he woke up, then he talked to someone smart enough to understand him, and it’s not every day that that happens. He walked over to the prey pile and almost tripped over an apprentice. “Hello- M edrfware.” He said with his mouth full of a vole he was going to set down and eat, and he did just that. “What’s your name?”

Dustypaw swallowed. "Hi, there. I'm Dustypaw. What's your name?" She pushed the lapwing closer to the kit. "You want some?"

Dustypaw looked up. "Dustypaw. You're Elderflame, right?" She felt a bit self-conscious, talking to a warrior as if they were equal. But he was a warrior, why would he want to talk to her of all cats?

Dustypaw shrugged. She was still confused as to why Elderflame was talking to her? "Um, eating," She replied. "Before going out and train. You know, to become a warrior, like you."
