WindClan: Life Before 2023's Fire

Owltalon jumped when Twilightstar yowled out the summons. She was very unlike herself, tail thrashing and pelt bristling. What had happened this time? He meandered over, a bit late to the meeting, and sat on the outer edge. He definitely wasn't going to miss this meeting.

~ WOLFFANG ~

Wolffang heard the familiar meeting call and knew exactly what this was about. He was still filled with a multitude of emotions after discovering the four dead cats - and Skyleaf, later on. The tom still felt his fur bristling and the deep, mixed feelings of anger and grief that had settled within him. Skyleaf had been a good friend of his, and her life had been taken. And then there were three good warriors and an apprentice in training. Fernpaw. A goof, but a good one, despite him endlessly annoying his sister. The tom stalked over stiffly to where the Breezerock was and took his place directly beneath it.

Any cat could tell that something was wrong, and not just from Twilightstar's rage. Wolffang's fur was ruffled, and he made no effort to lie it flat. His bright yellow gaze was narrowed and filled with a deep pain and fury that no cat could miss, while his long, sharpened claws dug into the sand beneath him. He couldn't stop his tail from lashing, stirring up sand.

ShadowClan would pay for this.

~ ASHFEATHER ~

Ashfeather poked her head out of the nursery. A Clan meeting had been called - and her pelt bristled. Twilightstar looked absolutely furious. Slowly, her good eye drifted over to Wolffang. She still got chills looking over the tom. She knew that he hated her, even if he had seemed to be softening up to the disabled and mixed-blooded cats of WindClan. The sight of him still made her nervous - his tendency to be grumpy all the time and get angry easily - but this was something entirely different.

The tom looked furious and... was that grief? What had happened this time? A chill ran through the temporary queen as she padded up to the Breezerock. Most of the other cats looked oblivious to what was going on. Ashfeather went up to the mass of cats nervously, her black fur prickling. She swallowed and sat down, trying to stay away from Wolffang's piercing, furious, grief-filled gaze. Her broken, crooked, twisted tail hung over her like some sort of mangled tree branch, with the light gray tip twitching between her undersized ears.

What was going on? Had the dogs returned? Or, even worse... had ShadowClan terrorized them once again? Had more cats died? Ashfeather felt terrified just thinking about it. Why... why them? Why did ShadowClan hate them so much? Couldn't they get peace? When her life was looking up, something had to come and force the whole Clan down...

bluesea emerged from his den; he hadn’t been paying attention recently, so he was unsure of why the leader was so angry. then as he sat at the back of the crowd, it came to him. shadow clan. the clan who has always been evil. his fur ruffled. what would twilight star do?

Duskfire tredded slowly around the clearing, clearly bored.
What a sad day.
He sat down on his haunches, bewildered at his thoughts.
Nothing to do. I just want to shred someones fur, or die in a hole.
He nodded in agreement with his thoughts, not minding if he looked strange to his clanmates.
His ears perked up as a pretty white she-cat padded into the clearing. She seemed to have come back from a patrol, after all she looked a little ruffled. He tilted his head slightly as he watched her pad into camp.
Hmm. She looked interesting. Cloudsong was it??
Standing up, he quickly scanned his surroundings before he headed over to who he thought was Cloudsong.

Cloudsong paused to look at the tom approaching her. "Hello." She said. I think his name-Duskfire, isn't it? "You're Duskfire, right?" She asked.

He nodded, and tilted his head "Your Cloudsong I believe??"

"Yes, that's me." Cloudsong smiled.

He attempted a smile back, and quickly straightened his posture. "How was hunting? Did you run into anything troubling?"

"No, not really. I caught a rabbit though." Cloudsong said, motioning towards the freshkill pile.

Duskfire nodded in approval at the plump rabbit sitting at the top of the pile.
He sighed, "Well uh, want to go on a walk with me?? Tensions are high in camp because of Shadowclan, and I was wondering if you would want to get out."
