The dark tom forced himself to make eye contact - as best he could, anyways - and his yellow eyes seemed to soften a little. Lotusheart had such pretty eyes. They were a soft color that almost soothed his nerves… Jasperpelt had always liked that color. Mainly because it had reminded him of his friend, but he liked it because of the soothing effect it seemed to have as well. The tom’s ears warmed again as she apologized, and once more, he looked down at the ground, breaking the spell her eyes seemed to have on him. ”Oh - no, no, it was… it was fine,” He mewed with a small smile. Jasperpelt was disappointed in himself. He’d been doing so well with not stammering, and now here he was - nervous again!

Lotusheart seemed to relax a little when he said it was fine she was acting this way and that she was saying things like that. The Maine Coon felt herself relax as she loosened how tightly her tail was wrapped around her paws. Green hues raised up to meet his again noting the way he got nervous all over again. Panicking a little knowing she caused this, she shuffled a little. "Oh Jasperpelt!" she started, pricking her ears towards him. "You don't have to be nervous around me!" she spoke, her gaze softening a little.

Liking someone was complicated. Feelings were complicated. Jasperpelt might not have been a complicated tom, but he could definitely have complicated feelings. Such as right now - he liked Lotusheart, it wasn’t too hard for him to realize that - he had had little apprentice-crushes before, and even when he had first met the she cat, he had thought she was very nice and pretty and sweet… and getting to know her better had been great… but Jasperpelt didn’t feel like it would be right for him to say anything about it. Not… yet. Not until he was sure that things were going to be okay with them. The last thing he wanted was to lose her friendship, and he knew that with her old mate being dead, it was bound to be hard for her to truly develop feelings again - so he would take his time. ”I know.” This time he was able to smile when he looked over at her again. And, he didn’t stammer - the statement sounded truly confident. It was a beautiful sound for him… Jasperpelt had worked really hard for that, so anytime he could speak that way, it was just wonderful.

Cloudsky who stayed closer than she needed to in fear he’d freeze and fall over helped him drop the prey off in the fresh kill pile before being herself, turned to face him,” I really think you should go see Juniperpaw. I can fetch your mate for you and escort you their, if that’s your problem. I just don’t think you should go without being inspecting. And if your one of those warriors who won’t go to Juniperpaw meerly because she’s an apprentice, remember she has more exerience in herbs that you do, and she’s working really hard and praise is what helps cats without mentors learn.” She meowed realizing she went on a tangent, she felt her face grow hot in embarassement,” Sorry about that tangent.” She muttered

"A-all Juniperpaw w-will do is t-tell me to get d=dry and warm up," Firehawk said. "T-there's no herbs to cure being cold, and it's not like I'm sick! Experienced o-or not, it's not worth paying her a visit. I w-will if it goes beyond just a chill." Right now, Juniperpaw had more important things to worry about. "Don't be," he responded lightly. "There's no need to apologize. Thank you for the o-offer, though!" It was quite nice of Cloudsky to propose getting Iceflower for him, but Firehawk already knew she'd be in the warmth of the warriors' den. In their shared nest. Waiting for him. "I-I suppose I'll catch you on another patrol, preferably in warmer weather."

Cloudsky nodded,” Alright.” She meowed, but fully intended to see him make it into the den.” She meowed. She knew she sounded like a nucense, but she wanted to ensure that he made it to the den safety, but ofcourse...she’d let his mate Iceflower handle him. She braced herself for him to fall or whatever horrible effects.

Firehawk started toward the warriors' den with the fish still clamped between his paws. His movements were slowed by his stiff muscles, but the tom was able to make it to the mouth of the den and vanish inside without assistance.

of course it’d move on; that was the way things were.
she’d grown to accept many truths, brutal as they were— she’d grown wiser, as things that grow and learn do. things that grow and do also learn to do and die; it was a cruel predicament, but some of those.. things deserved to, contrary to many popular schools of thought. and someone had died, except honeycomb had no sympathy, no feelings as they dug up a hole and dumped her body into it, aside from some relief, and an almost perverse sense of joy. even if she had forsaken minnowgaze’s words while she had been alive, there wouldn’t be as much catharsis in being able to be there as she watched the earth take that glassy-eyed blue stare and put it where it could never see her love, live, and just be.
so she was in camp, and she was pretty pleased with the way things were going with wolfdancer; she’d managed to squeeze her way back into her good books, somehow. the immense molly’s scent hadn’t changed at all, the feeling of her coarse neck-fur pressing into honey’s back as they slept in a messy pile feeling the way it always had. the amount of scars on her pelt, however, had been steadily rising. as she padded into camp, honeycomb’s lips turned into the slightest frown, but she looked around riverclan’s camp, searching for the aforementioned molly.
aside from all of that, she could say she was.. happy. it was a testament to wolfdancer’s loyalty that she had doubled down in her attempt to stay just as close to honeycomb as they used to be, even if she thought her feelings were unrequited. honey wasn’t sure if she wanted to rebuke the belief that they were just yet, but she would work up to it. kit-steps, after all.
olive-green eyes falling onto the place where wolfdancer lay, honeycomb’s ears perked, her concerned expression morphing into something all the more pleased-- the she-cat looked beautiful as she sat there, her dark fur looking more like the silverpelt on a clear night. quickening her pace, the bicoloured molly raised her docked tail, chirping a nonverbal greeting to her long-standing friend. she’d missed things like this more than she could say.
|
she had scars but they were fading.
she had tear stains that were worn and old.
she didnt feel longing anymore.
things seemed to move along. they were both trying, that was for sure. they were trying and thats all the wolfdancer wanted. she was tired of trying to push honeycomb away and be angry at her. because she could if she wanted to, she could snarl and scream and she would still stay. so there was no point. there was no point in trying to remain bitter. she was going to try and be happy. that was the point. so, she was, she didnt think to much about the past and was going to try and look beyond that, towards the future. her kits were growing older and moving on to better things, there was no need to check in on them as often. she truly could focus on herself now. she caught a robin earlier! she felt so proud of herself for that. it felt could to be out doing things again, feeling the bitter yet soothing breeze seep into her fur, the rush of the prey under her claws. it felt nice. it felt good.
her eyes opened more from their relaxed state seeing honeycomb approaching. honeycomb. hmm. she missed her greatly. she missed this. even the smallest of things like a chirp in greeting, or eye contact that wasnt filled with regret and broken hope. it was casual, as if nothing happened. cause nothing did happen. they were still in the same place regarding relationships as they were before all of the drama. and as much as it stung, wolfdancer was okay with that. whatever her honeycomb wanted.
she smiled back, lifting her head and give a loud purr in return.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
many say that fear runs rampant.
it's true.
pain seemed to be pleasure
she needed to move on
she'd learned to accept what had happened, she didn't live with it, she couldn't, but she accepted it. so greengale sat there, her family was dead, her mate, kits, everything.
she had nothing to live for.
she wanted to push everyone away, but she couldn't, she wouldn't. she felt like she needed this, but she didn't want it. so she still lay there, pushing those thoughts away like they were nothing, because they were nothing. she let out a sigh. her words were nothing, it seemed, all lost in an empty void.
she needed to stop.

Cloudsky noded in satisfaction and turned to part. She was trusting Iceflower to handle it from their. Whoever she was. (Should we end it here?)

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Riverkit was sleeping, tired from the game of moss ball she'd played with Frozenkit so her brother was sitting by the nest protectively. The white tom kit would do anything to protect his sister, Frozenkit was just that kind of cat. He'd protect what he cared for and fend off everything else. There was no one else, well Icebelly was razing them, but that wasn't the same! Riverkit and himself believed that their parents had died and Icebelly never told them otherwise. So,
why would they question it? Well if they did they'd learn that Icebelly was really their aunt and that Feathercloud and Whiteflash are their biological parents. Sitting there his tail flicked back and forth, a bit bord.
(No this is late and I got writer's block!)
