WindClan: Life Before 2023's Fire

Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no. This was bad. This was very very bad. Ashnose was likely going to be killed. ShadowClan knew her. They wouldn’t let her live, especially because she was a part of WindClan.

Chestnutchip sits by the fresh kill pile, a rabbit in his jaws. He flicks his tail-tip absentmindedly, enjoying the sounds of the Clan milling about. It's a beautiful Green-leaf day, and he's got no plans.

Breezedapple

She gasped, horrified. Why would a cat even consider that? Breezedapple dug her claws in hard. Usually, she didn't like to result to violence. Killing a cat, taking a life, was something you could never shake. But it had gone to far this time. Breezedapple could see know other option, no way to avoid a battle. And, to be honest, she didn't want to avoid it. ShadowClan would pay for this.

Dustypaw

Dustypaw stepped back in horror. "No!" She whimpered. Not her Skyleaf! It couldn't be! Why would Shadow clan do something like that? It was a horrible, unforgivable act. Dustypaw crouched down low, grief and fury overwhelming her. They had killed her mentor, her friend. Dustypaw would kill them. She would kill them all for killing Skyleaf. She would make sure of it.

Dirtpaw

Dirtpaw gaped. What in StarClan? It made no sense! This was an act of war that had been a complete surprise, at least to Dirtpaw. He had thought they were becoming...friend-ish with ShadowClan, or at least not hated enemies. But ShadowClan had gone and ruined Al of it. WindClan would surely attack ShadowClan now. He would have to talk to Swiftfire so they could train and Dirtpaw could fight in the coming battle between the two Clans.

Twigpaw

All around him, Twigpaw's Clanmates shouted out, as horrified as he was. This was all just a dream, he told himself. ShadowClan wouldn't do that, would they? They weren't that cruel, right? How could they. He had thought WindClan and ShadowClan had sorted out their differences! And now he would have to fight. Oh no!

yellowpaw gasped why would shadowclan do such a thing they had to be stoped

He frowned, almost positive that he upset her.
Sighing, he mewed "Yeah. You're probably right..." He stood up, shaking out his pelt. Opening his jaws for an enormous yawn, he settled his tail on her shoulder and smiled at her reassuringly, and began to head back to camp.

Cloudsong entered the clearing. As she walked, she thought about what had happened.

Duskfire flexed his claws, then started licking his pads.
Yowch! Is that a thorn? He began to dig it out and eventually popped it out with his teeth. Satisfied, he spit it out and layed down.
I hope the next gatherings canceled... If I see a Shadowclan cat I'm bound to shred them.
He was craving the thought of bloodshed, as he looked back at Cloudsong, he saw she looked a bit into her thinking, and wondered if he had said something wrong.
Mother always said I was quite oblivious to the cats around me...

Twilightstar hissed in warning at the apprentice's attitude. "No, you may not go. With that mouth, I'm wondering if I should take you back at all. I've made the mistake of allowing an ungrateful apprentice back into the clan before and she up and left us when we could have used her help. You remind me of her, which makes me wonder if it would be better to not bring you back at all."

The young molly's smile drooped a little. She knew that her leader was gonna ask that. Looking away slightly,
she pawed the ground with a forepaw. "Well..let's just say I got lost and I couldn't come back for a few moons because I lost my way. Although I did learn some new stuff while iI was gone!" She admitted, a sudden loud purr rumbling through her chest.

"How is everything doing in WindClan? Did I miss any new kits coming into the clan? Any new arivals?" She wanted to chatter away, but the thought of kits made her tailtip curl with excitement. She LOVED seeing newly born kits. Or any new kit at that matter. Although,
Cloverpaw's eyes immediately clouded with sympathy as she noticed how much Twilightstar lost from her body. From missing a paw to missing an eye.

"I'm still used to the way you used to look Twilightstar.
No offense." She raised a paw, waving it a little. Although she still hoped to see Ashfeather again. So she had decided to ask the leader where the molly was. "How's Ashfeather?" a little bit of worry and sympathy crawled into the molly, digging into tone as she spoke.

"What is with cats and get lost all the time?" Twilightstar muttered that bit to herself, obviously not very pleased with it, but tolerant. At least she wasn't a warrior. The switch in the subject was interesting, most cats don't ask how the clan is doing upon their return.

"We could be doing better, ShadowClan's been... trouble but it's nothing that we can't handle." Hopefully, but she muttered that bit to herself. "As for new arrivals you can meet them upon our return." Cloverpaw concern about the clan and genuine delight that could be seen in her eyes at the thought of new kits won Twilightstar over. Clearly, she had missed being WindClan. Twilightstar merely hoped that the apprentice would take more care with her surroundings in the future.

She gave dismissive ear twitch at the common to her appearance. She's long ago adjusted to lack of body parts and her clanmates no longer seemed troubled by it. The slender lilac she-cat began padding off, calling the apprentice to follow with a flick of her tail. "Ashfeather seems to be doing alright, but you can ask her once we get home."

Thistlewing padded over the open moor. I can’t believe I got lost again, she thought. She hoped that Cloudpaw hadn’t gotten into too much trouble. Thistlewing almost laughed. Just a quarter moon or so ago, she had been teaching her apprentice the landmarks in WindClan territory so the young cat wouldn’t get lost. Now she had lost track of those same landmarks.
But not for long. Thistlewing squinted and spotted the Breezerock in the distance. She was almost home. Now all she had to do was wait for Twilightstar to find her.

Found her. Twilightstar through to herself as pushed through some overgrown heather and followed the fresh scent trail. She spotted the white and ginger splotched she-cat, and padded right up to her. The leader had thought that she had smelt someone familiar and she had been right.

"How did this happen again?" Twilightstar's growl was full of aggravation considering that she really didn't enjoy cats going missing more than once. She started throwing harder questions and judging just as harshly when it came to second-time offenders. Clearly, nothing had been learned the first time.

"Sleepwalking," Twilightstar meowed, seeming skeptical. "You should get checked out by Peachfrost then." That one kit should probably be looked at as well. Sleepwalking wasn't something normal in cats she was sure.

Brownkit's green eyes lit up as she heard and saw Twilightstar. She scampered over to her, tripping over her paws on the way. She skidded to a stop in front of her. "T-twilightstar! I'm so g-glad I found you! I w-was chasing a butterfly and I d-didn't realize that I had l-left camp." She meowed, her stutter all over the place in her excitement.

"Why were you..." Twilightstar trailed off shaking her head after Brownkit explained her absence. The leader never really understood kits clearly. Perhaps someone needed to teach kits where the entrance of the camp was, although she felt that it should be clear as to where it laid considering cats come and go from it all the time.

"How far... never mind. Do not go chasing anything unless you're supervised from now on." Kits apparently could gt hyper-focused on stuff, they needed to be watched better. "Come along." The leader meowed, ushering the young one towards the camp.
