Re: WindClan Nursery
[open]
Flashes of.... red.
A jolt of indescribable terror...
Screaming.
Where did they go?
Her breathing overlapped with wailing, and sobbing. Her littermates were far away, most likely snapped up within the slavering, frothing jaws of the mutts. Teeth ripped into her tail, and she opened her mouth to scream.
No sound came out.
The dog was pulling her back, but something distracted it long enough for her to run towards the moor.
Why did she run to the moor?
It just felt.... right. Safe.
The familiar screech echoed from behind her, and she whirled around. The screech was pained, agonized.
"Mommy!"
--------------------------
"No!" She screamed, eyes opening, and mouth gaping, gasping for the air she didn't need. Her claws held the shredded remains of her nest, and her light gray fur was covered in the nest litter. Looking around wildly, Windkit could almost see the dogs running from every direction. Tears seeped out of her eyes, and she stood up on shaky legs. Heart throbbing painfully against her ribcage.
Her tail, only half as long as it was originally, as it had to be chopped off because it was too mangled to be saved, lashed side to side. Hate swarmed her senses, as terror had done those three moons ago, and she let out a throaty growl, willing her heart to slow.
These nightmares had to stop. Her always present fear of the dogs coming to finish her off, that had to stop too. She barely left the nursery, she had no reason to leave. But she had to... Stumbling over to the den entrance, she hesitated in the entryway. What... what if the dogs were out there?
No, they were not. Things would be louder. And it would smell disgusting, too. No, she was being dramatic. There were no dogs. But... there were no family members out there waiting for her. No friends, either. So why was she doing this to herself? There was nothing for her to press on for.
Shaking her head, she stepped back. No, she couldn't do this. She was strong enough to survive the dogs. She was strong enough to live her tail being cut off. But she wasn't strong enough to leave the nursery? That was stupid. Stepping forward again, she almost left, when a cat started talking loudly in the clearing. She jumped, then ran back to her nest, burying her face under the shredded remains.
Maybe tomorrow, she would be brave.

Re: WindClan Nursery
@ poppy.
"Nightmares..."
Jaykit knew that facial expressions all two well, not that they had
seen it on them self of cause but it was the same... the same fear and
desperation in her voice, claws gripping the bedding, trying to cling
on to the real world, and the eyes... like small pools of horror and... sorrow?
They looked at Windkit for a moment, unsure of what to do as they
watched the other kit stumbled towards the entrance but stopping
right before it. They wouldn't go up and talk to her, there wasn't
enough courage for that, but maybe catch her eyes and give a sympathetic nod...?
Jaykit couldn't see her parents beside her and hoped, really wished
that they had just gone outside for a bit... and that they would return...
They made up their mind and rose up before slowly padding over to their
den-mates nest where she'd rushed back to and gently, as not to scare
her placed the tip of their tail on her shoulder.

Rosebriar had to admit, seeing her brother had made her feel a tad bit better. He'd been shocked to see the extent of her injuries, but had promised to stay by her side. Of course he had. Wait, no... he shouldn't have! Was he straying so far away from the righteous ways that Featherwhisker had taught them?! Shock pulsed through her. He'd already been drifting away, hadn't he? Hadn't he been speaking to Deadpaw without any scorn? She'd also caught him talking about Morningpaw and wanting to see her again. But why? Those half-siblings were a disgrace! The only good one was Snowypaw, but Rosebriar didn't know them very well.
She let out a sad sigh. I'm not a good one, either. How could she ever be loved, missing an eye and most of one ear, one side of her face mauled, and an unusable hind leg? How would that ever work? Sadness pulsed through her from claws to tail-tip, and she couldn't help staring down at her paws. Her paws... broad and sturdy, so unlike her slightly small, very slender build. Rosebriar had been a mixture of elegant and cute, her slightly odd fur colors matching perfectly, but now she was ugly.
Stonemask had helped... a bit. Rosebriar didn't know anymore. She just didn't know. At least that talk meant that she had to move forward, but... but how could she cope? With the irony? Becoming the things that she most hated? It was painful to look in a puddle of water or to twist her head back to look at her leg. The snapping jaws of the dog echoed in her mind, and a shiver ran through her.
Nevermind that. She'd mustered enough courage to get over to the fresh-kill pile. Teetering on three legs, her fourth dragging awkwardly behind her, Rosebriar managed to stagger over to it. Her elegantly bushy tail, which she used to carry with such grace, was now waving wildly in an attempt to balance her. When she reached it, she couldn't help but feel a pang at how pitifully small it was. Those hunting patrols had to be much more competent!
There was a small mouse, though. Rosebriar thought of taking it, thinking that her poor elegant self deserved it, then paused. Should she? Did a pathetic cat like her deserve prey? A wave of grief and depression swept over her and she flopped down to the ground, eyeing it. She hadn't eaten for what felt like days; maybe it had been. She'd just been so sad, how could she think of getting anything down?
Taking a deep breath, Rosebriar hooked the mouse with one claw and brought it closer toward herself. Aware that she was in the middle of the camp for all to see, she picked it up in her jaws and awkwardly scooted backward. Then she put it down. A shudder ran through her body. If they saw her, they would laugh at her. They're somehow okay with other cats like me... But once again, she'd been adamantly against cats like that, and where had that gotten her? StarClan had laughed in her face.
Tears welled up in her one remaining eye and her appetite disappeared. Oh, why her, why her? Of course every perfect cat had to be punished by StarClan. Look at her, with her perfect looks, wonderful name, great family - Featherwhisker and Wolffang, anyway - and a sense on how to be perfectly pure. She loved her Clan, too, but also prized her beauty. That mattered most. WindClan was good, too, but she hadn't been on the best of terms with them lately.
So what had driven her to leap out in front of Beeblaze, to attack the dog that maimed her? Her snappy, hot-headed apprentice who obviously didn't dislike her? She had taken the risk of getting maimed for him. Rosebriar's claws sunk into the ground. This is all his fault! Bitterness rose in his chest. But somehow, the wisdom of Stonemask and maybe even Wolffang rubbed off on her. Who had jumped in to take the blow? Me.
Rosebriar shook her head to clear it and ignored the tears, instead bending down to take a bite of mouse. Hopefully, the path got clearer. Maybe in StarClan she'd be beautiful again. She deserved to go there, didn't she? All that she'd wanted was to keep WindClan fresh and pure. But now she was part of the problem. Yes, she was a nuisance who was so vain that she tried to care about herself when she couldn't be cared about.
Her Clanmates were nice to impure cats, but that didn't mean Rosebriar should... right? After all, cats with mixed blood or something that hindered them from acting or looking their best should be a bad thing. But her warring thoughts made her think, too... what about her? She should probably ask Twilightstar to retire, or to even exile her. Life on her own was scary... but she deserved it. The Clan didn't need one more impure cat. Any cat could be impure and she didn't care, just so long as they didn't affect her.
Stonemask had told her that those thoughts were wrong, and Rosebriar knew that to hate cats like that would also mean to hate herself. I do, don't I? she thought wretchedly, staring down at her front paws with a fixated glare. The mouse still lay there, with one bite taken out of it. Her stomach yearned for more, and without really thinking, she took another bite and chewed it harder than intended.
I'm so sorry. I can't believe how you must be coping with this. [...] It's okay. I'm here. You... well, we may have our mental differences, but I'll be with you every pawstep. [...] You're still my sister, and that's what matters, Rosebriar. I'll never stop loving you like I should any member of my kin. [...] Yes, even them. You might remember me when we were younger, and I... well, the feelings have been confusing. [...] I'm not trying to insult Featherwhisker's memory, for StarClan's sake! I just... don't know. I've seen disabled cats fight. If they take the time to learn, then they're... [...] They're just as good as any other Clan warrior. I want to accept that, even though it's hard. [...] That means accepting you, Rosebriar. Please. I know you disagree, but... well, you... you aren't worthless, okay? If you took some extra time to learn... [...] Take as much time as you need to recover. We might not agree, but I'm here, okay? I'm your brother. I should pay more attention to you.
Wolffang's words from their chat rung in Rosebriar's head. He really had changed, hadn't he? She wasn't fully ready to accept that what she looked like meant a world of change for her. Would her thoughts change, like Wolffang had, now that she knew what those cats felt like? But just the thought was dreadful! Walking around like... like Twistedface! It gave her a shudder. But she swallowed nervously, her claws working in the ground, and took another bite of mouse. She had wanted to be popular and loved, but her thoughts hadn't been, well, popular. And her Clanmates had mocked her. Stonemask was nice, but most of the others? No, they weren't.
I'll figure it out. Oh, how I wish to go back to the past... I don't want it to be so confusing!
And then Rosebriar briefly wondered if Wolffang had been having thoughts like these when he became deputy and the Clan had started paying more attention to him. She didn't know why, but... she felt like something might change. But she wasn't sure. How could she know?

She walked over to the queen. "Hey.. rosebriar are you ok?" She asked sympathetically. She hoped rosebriar was ok.

Re: WindClan Nursery
- @Singing Jay
Fear pulsed through her as something touched her shoulder. She was about to turn around and rake her claws over the creatures eyes, when the scent of a Clanmate wafted around her, and she just crouched there, tense, not even turning to look at the cat. Windkit's fur raised slightly, and after a moment, she finally did turn to look to see who it was.
Who was this? Some kit with a bird name.... Finchkit.... Swallowkit.... Jaykit.... Oh, yes. Jaykit. "Sorry." She said softly, not sure what she was apologizing for... but it felt like a moment she needed to apologize. But she didn't need to. It was confusing, but she didn't want to mess her life up- more.
Not bothering to move from where she crouched, she just froze. What if she did something wrong? They might judge her, or... or something. They looked a lot like someone she knew, but who? Furrowing her brow suddenly, she tipped her head to the side. If she had forgotten, it probably wasn't important.
Pent up emotions threatened to overwhelm her, and she took a deep, steadying breath. It didn't work, terror still raced through her, part of her waiting for the frothy jaws of a canine to snap her up and finish the job. She curled her short tail closer to her body, as if wanting to keep the remains of it around.
But what if her wishing didn't mean anything? It never seemed to before. She wished for her family back, she wished she wasn't lonely, she wished that every second of every day wasn't filled with the horrible fear of death and pain...
No, she had to stop thinking about these things. So instead, she focused on Jaykit, who miraculously hadn't ran away from her, so hopefully she didn't seem too crazy.

Stars Crowtooths throat was beginning to hurt a bit, the tom wasnt really used to talking this much and it clearly was a bit of a strain on his already damaged voice to now be rambling away when normally he didnt say all that much. Suppose his voice was like a muscle in that way, if he stopped using it often like he had been with few cats to talk too it grew weak. Would that mean he should go and get something from Peachfrost for the pain or just rest it after this and try and talk more in general? No clue thought for another time he supposed. For all he was rambling Twilightstar seemed to be taking everything in in stride even as he bounced from topic and sometimes sidetracked himself. It was pretty nice if he was honest and he had his ears pricked attentively for the leaders response to it all.
Only to find those ears drooping as she started off with a totally valid and probably correct scolding session about his expectations. For all he held a rather unique rank in the clan at such a young age and generally didnt get questioned all that much (for some reason. Was he intimidating or something?) Crowtooth was indeed a young warrior who didnt have nearly the same experience as Twilightstar and this was a clear reminder of that. The tunneller had expected too much and maybe thats why he'd been struggling so far. Still despite how much of a slap to the snout this was and how much the skunk striped tom was clearly a bit ashamed by making a blunder as much as he was trying to take in the mollys words. And he was trying! For all Crowtooth could be thick at times his respect for Twilightstar alone would have driven him to try and take this in even if, when processed, her reasoning didnt make sense (which it did). So while his ears staying in their drooped back position and his eyes dropped from the older mollys face while she spoke they were flicking about the entire time in thought occasionally mouthing a word silently to himself as he tried to internalise the impromptu lesson.
After all this all made sense in a way even if he didnt entirely understand and wouldnt have reached this realisation on his own.
"I guess I get it." He rasped voice low and serious even as it was tinged with embarrassment "I mean I'd never expect Maplebird to just leave or a shadowclan cat to ever help us but that weird guy Beastspark did. And Stag for all he was.... Well Stagleech was pretty capable when we both ended up in the tunnels so cant judge a cats skills down there by their personality. I just- You've trusted me with this huge rank despite everything and I want to make sure I and whatever tunnellers I train end up the best they can be and can do the best for windclan they can do. I suppose this is me not knowing how to do that and going about it the wrong way biting me though huh?" Once again the warriors complete lack of understanding on other cats and how they acted and grew struck as it combined with his other complete lack of knowledge on how to train anyone to create this unholy mess. For some reason that didnt feel like all it was though.
Sure enough once again Twilightstar hit the nail on the head and Crowtooths ears shot up eyes connecting once more as they blew wide in shock at the question. What! Afraid?! His reaction of instinctive denial was instant. "Im not afraid! Im never afraid I've stared down shadowclan and every threat since apprenticeship without hesitation! I- I......" He really didnt get far before the lie caught in his throat strangled by his own inability to lie to a cat he respected so much. As the bulky tom trailed off into silence he seemed to shrink into himself tail lashing before it curled tight around his paws, shoulders hunching. Eventually gaze dropped once more he spoke again in a far more quiet wheeze. "I just.... Ive seen so many clanmates die from accidents or be killed or just be taken before their time by being stupid and its horrible and frustrating and so often I can never do anything. And I can do something here. I can stop them from going down into the tunnels that might kill them if theyre not ready or suited for it even if it's stupid. Im the first cat to ever hold this rank and I stumbled into it, if I end up messing it all up isnt that on my paws? I swore to protect windclan...."
Crowtooth finally let out a raspy sigh shoulders dropping as his head tipped back to look at the roof of the den. "Im being thick again arent I? Like when Harefoot was such a bad mentor I didnt go to get help until he made me so mad I swiped at him.... Ugh and Im supposed to be a warrior and better than this. Im sorry Ill do my best to fix things."
|
It seemed that she was hurting more than helping. Twilightstar watched the tom's expression with concerned one of her own. She was not speaking her mind to belittle or cause doubt within the tom, though it appeared that she hadn't done a very good job of that. Had she been too harsh? She had tried to keep her tone even, had she failed. Twilightstar often didn't mind her blunt mannerism though in these instances she wished that she was more thoughtful. She fell silent for a time, letting him process everything, and frowned gently when he responded that he understood, but she wasn't sure that he fully got what she was trying to point out.
Twilightstar relaxed a tad bit as he carried on, he didn't sound particularly upset, more embarrassed than anything else. She could relate to him being thrust into a rank that he wasn't sure how to handle, she probably should have insisted that he take an apprentice all those moons ago. Perhaps if he had someone to actually teach and stick around him, he'd grow more comfortable teaching others. If anything the more upbeat apprentices helped greatly with building social interactions. Stagleech had always been impressive with how easily he interacted with everyone around him. Not everyone was like him, though. Building connections and talking to others could be a chore to some and down frightening to others.
Twilightstar knew the pressures of being something that you weren't sure you could be. Stepping, teaching, leading, others, it was rough and a bit scary. But worth it in the end. As Crowtooth promptly denied his own fear, she had opened her maw to reassure him it was completely okay being afraid, but he changed his tune not long after. She took a turn listening instead of commenting for once, letting his words wash over her.
"Don't apologize, you don't think you're wrong. I feel terrible for putting such a weight on your shoulders. I'm uncertain how to ease it from you. Though know that I would never blame you for anyone's death" Twilightstar dropped her eye down towards her paws, flexing her claws as she scowled to herself. She disliked that he seemed to feel so alone with all of this, and Twilightstar knew what it felt like to be blamed for someone dying. It hurt as much as learning that someone was suddenly gone from your life. It felt like she was grasping at air trying to reassure Crowtooth.
"I try not to come off too harsh or cold, however, I feel like I've failed there. I don't mean to make light of your words, I truly do not, but bearing the weight of every death in the tunnels, accident or not, your fault or not, it will start to weigh you down to the point where you'll find it hard to get up one day. You can feel however you want, but you should understand that can't protect everyone. That sense of responsibility will never go away, no matter how old you get. You'll learn to mourn your losses, move on, but never forget. Sadly, I'm uncertain on what to tell you to ease whatever pain that comes from bearing this rank." She'd help if she could, yet she couldn't think of the words how to. "Your voice is going to give if you continue chatting with me." She took note of the tom's wheezy meow.
(That's alright, not sure why but I had troubles with my reply. So apologizes if it feels off.)

~ WOLFFANG ~
Wolffang padded inside of Twilightstar's den as he had multiple times before. His mind was still racing and multiple emotions were fighting a war inside of him. But he could feel all of them tumbling into a mind-numbing mixture, one of them occasionally pressing hard against him and making him feel a strong flash, then disappearing into the harsh tumult. Grief. Shock. Fury. They made his mind feel like a mess as the shadows of the den engulfed him, seeming even darker than the clouds massing above the sky outside.
The scattered remains of his Clanmates flashed in his mind. Nettlespark, Deadpool, Fernfrost, Fernpaw, and Skyleaf. Stripped of their pelts, their bodies torn to pieces so that the faint tufts of fur, eyes, and scent were the only distinguishable marks of what they had once been. One who had been taken so young, and the other who had felt like a formidable friend and ally to him, who he had valued as a loyal warrior. The other three having been good warriors, cats who should not have died and been disrespected in that way.
Wolffang had stormed into this den before in anger, but this was different. So much different. His paw steps landed on the floor of the den hard and his whole body was tense. His mood was gloomy, but more than that. His posture and burning eyes showed that he was angry and grieving for the lost. It came off as more, so much more. The situation had been atrocious. It was clear how bad, how serious, things were based on his mood alone.
He spotted the lilac-gray pelt of Twilightstar and knew that she wasn't going to like this news. Wolffang stopped in front of her. It was hard for him to remain formal. How could he, after what had just happened? His fur was ruffled, every prominent muscle tensed, long claws unsheathing and digging deeply into the ground beneath him. His eyes were narrowed. The more the bodies replayed in his mind, the more his grief and rage grew. ShadowClan will pay for this. No matter what happens.
"Twilightstar," he growled. His voice was heavy and grim. No cat could hear it and expect good news. Wolffang decided not to wait and ponder. Even though dropping the news would be like shoving a heavy boulder onto the leader, there was no point in delaying. She had to know, right now. There was no delaying.
"Nettlespark's patrol went missing. None of them were seen anywhere around camp. So, I sent out a rescue patrol to go and find them. And we found them, all right - inside of WindClan's territory." The scene showed in his mind and he couldn't stop the fur along his spine from starting to rise, his claws to dig even deeper into the ground until they felt like they might snap off, his ears start to flatten against his gray head.
"Dead. All four of them, stripped of their pelts, surrounded by ShadowClan scent. Nettlespark, Deadpool, Fernfrost, and Fernpaw - all of them dead, their remains too scattered for us to even bring them home. We buried what was left of them on the spot. But that's not it." His voice was low, shaking with obvious anger, but grief was plain in it, too.
"On the way back, we encountered the corpse of Skyleaf - also stripped of her pelt and mutilated so that we barely could tell it was her. She was murdered before them, and once again, left to rot. We buried her as well; there was no hope in bringing anything back to the camp. I doubt by that time that anyone would've recognized her." The shock at the bodies, the revulsion of ShadowClan, caused Wolffang to straighten to his full height. His grief-filled, anger-stricken eyes fixed right on the leader's single green one.
"This is the final straw. They not only killed five cats, but they took their pelts and mutilated them so that their Clan could not even mourn them. The least we could do was bury them where they lay, but with them being so scattered, there was no hope in ever being able to bring them back to their family and friends in WindClan. ShadowClan must be punished for this
- and we're definitely not going to show them any mercy."

Twilightstar raised her head as a cat walked into her den unannounced, the lack of a leg had her recognize Foxpaw immediately. That had her wondering if the apprentice wanted to talk about Skyleaf. Rather than jumping to conclusions, the leader figured it would be a good idea to hear her out. "What do you need?"
-----
As Leafpaw walked in, Twilightstar blinked her green eye and took notice of how concerned she appeared. The tom had grown rather big, it would be time to give him a new name soon enough. The leader shoved aside that random thought and gave the tom her attention. "Go ahead, I'm listening."
@Pheasantflight @~Fierceclaw~ @Undertaker
Lionkit crept up behind Leechkit and Midnightkit with a curious expression. Any icky feelings she had held for Leech were pretty much gone, she was already intrigued with their newest task, which involved mama was it was a pretty important one. After Leechkit stopped in front of a den, she grinning at Midnightkit's bold word, waddling over to her larger sister attempted to stop the molly from just walking into the den.
"Midnightkit, Mama will be upset that you--you--you got no...." Lionkit trailed off thinking long and hard for a second. She couldn't remember the word that she needed. It was a good word, on the tip of her tongue, and not coming to the front of her mind as it should. The tiny lilac's tongue dipped out as made a troubling face. She gave up feeling an ouchie forming inside her head, some said there was something called a brain living inside her there and it that it could hurt sometimes.
"I don't gots the word." She moaned to her littermates, obviously expecting one of them to give her a word to help Midnightkit understand what she didn't have.
"Manners?" At the offered word, Lionkit smiled brightly, that what it was manners. Turning her head she opened her maw to thank the cat but had to stop to grin ear to ear.
"Mama!" Lionkit screeched, swiftly waddle/tripping over to the older she-paws for some much-needed licks. Twilightstar chuckled to herself at the purring chunky little one circling her front paw.
"You took a bit longer finding my den than I was expecting." Twilightstar commented, bring her tail up behind her, she swished it to the side of her and reached out with the tip to lightly brush her other daughter's ear. "Even if it's my den, although I don't mind, it polite to at least call a greeting before walking in Midnightkit." The leader advised her eldest daughter gently with a fond smile before looking at her sons.
"Did you bring me something to eat?" She trilled softly a little proud of her kits, such considering little kits she had. The bird didn't look all that large, but she was sure it had been a bit of a task to bring it all the way from the fresh-kill pile to her den for baby cats.

Re: WindClan Nursery
The Nursery Den bustled with activity. From the whining, mewling voices of hungry kits, to the exasperated sounds of the Windclan’s queens trying to wrangle each of them up and try, fruitlessly, to get them to behave. Among these rowdy kits was Palekit, a sandy furred fluffball springing with energy. She wriggled out of the Nursery Den’s brambled coverings, taking advantage of the busy queens’ attention focused on the louder of her siblings.
Palekit giggled, proud of herself for being so clever. Her legs were stubby, close to the sandy ground as she waltzed over to the killpile, looking this way and that before snatching a small field mouse. She’d already proved a troublesome young kit, stealing from the already scarce pile and causing mischief. With even more earned pride she trotted across the clearing hastily, paws kicking up a small amount of dust.
As she settled, tucked away with her belly to the ground, she sat her newest ‘kill’ between her paws, ducking her head down and picking at the mouse with the two little teeth that poked out from her upper lip. She made sure to check every few moments for the sound of an angry queen coming to scold her, or perhaps curious denmates that followed Palekit’s scent to her hiding place.

Re: WindClan Nursery
@ North @ windtail
Ratkit's tail lashed in excitement, and she darted up and out of the nursery as Rabbitkit started to count. Drykit had already gone to hide, so she moved in the opposite direction through the trampled grass of the clearing, looking for a good place to hide.
The warrior's den... she'd get in trouble. At the elder's den the elders might talk at her until her ears fell off, and the apprentices might yell at her if she went into their den before her apprenticeship.
She looked around, considering, and finally darted into a gorse bush. She crawled under, flattening herself as much as possible, giggling softly. She swept her tail over her paws and peered through the leaves.

Re: WindClan Leader's Den
@ Moonraven
Foxpaw looked twilightstar in the eyes i wanted to say im sorry. I snapped at you at the meeting when I should have been mad at shadowclan for killing skyleaf. Yelling at you was not something a warrior should do and not something skyleaf would approve of and im sorry she tried to hold back tears as she talked about skyleaf. She wasn’t over her death even though she had met her in a dream and they were able to talk.

Leafpaw tried to calm himself down a bit mudpaw has gone missing and… I want your permission to go look for him. With all of the things with shadowclan I’m worried and I know that something wrong. He wouldn’t just leave without saying anything. he explained no smile on his face like normal he was upset and worried.

Re: WindClan Nursery

Rabbitkit heard his friends' hurried steps as they both ran off to hide, and he began to count. Up to ten, then to 20. He always made sure not to rush his seconds too much; he was always fair, it was just in his nature. He also never cheated or tried to peer through his closed eyes to get a glimpse of which way his friends went. It was no fun if he figured out where they were hiding without trying! "Ready or not, here I come!" He shouted, much too loud for the queens' of the nursery preferences, but, he didn't care too much - his excitement had him bounding out of the den's entrance at surprisingly fast speed for the tomkit. Standing out in the open air of the clearing, he looked tiny. He was almost an apprentice, but his height said he was younger; the only thing that seemed to grow were his ears, and they looked comically disproportionate to the rest of his body. He was a slow grower, but he would face his growth spurt in the coming moons, he was sure of it!
The brown fuzz moved around the clearing frantically, pausing every now and then to look around at possible hiding spaces. Maybe Ratkit had gone into the warriors' den? He made his way over but was quickly told to "get lost" by a rather grumpy, half-asleep warrior. He didn't need to be told twice and scurried away in a huff. So, Ratkit and Drykit couldn't be in there; not with Mr grumpy pants at the entrance. His green eyes searching the clearing. Where are they?? He wondered, a little lost. He was never really any good at hide and seek, but that didn't dampen his enjoyment of the game! Finally, he got an idea! Those bushes looked mighty suspicious and...were they moving slightly?! Rabbitkit let out an excited laugh and bounded over clumsily, pushing the leaves apart and announcing loudly, "Found you!" Was that his fastest find yet?! How exciting! He giggled, looking down at Ratkit's flattened form with glee. "I haven't found Drykit though, I don't know where he could be hiding..." He explained to the she-kit, looking around the clearing once again.
