It didn't take long for a queen to try and usher him back into the nursery. Mintkit took in a deep breath and searched Nightshiver's eyes. To his relief, he found nothing but care and concern. Blinking his eyes to try and adjust to his surroundings after such a large show of red, the grey tabby stumbled towards the nursery, his mouth shut for once.
"How- What happened?" He repeated his earlier question. What did Foxtooth do to deserve such a... such a fate? Surely no cat deserved to die? Maybe it was an accident, from a dog or fox, and now Dawnstar was going to send out a patrol to track it down and make sure no cat ever got hurt again, and Elmshadow would clean Foxtooth up and the warrior would be better in no time and up and about as if nothing had ever happened-
Mintkit dug his claws into the dirt below him and blinked back his tears. Since when did he get so soft? He knew that cats died, and that it was common for warriors to experience death... so why was he making such a big deal out of it? I'm probably getting in the way of the warriors, he realized dully. He needed a distraction from all this...
The grey tabby tom nudged Nightshiver's flank with a paw. "Hey, could you tell me that story you mentioned?" He asked meekly, his voice uncharacteristically soft.
Much to Nightshiver's relief, after a moment of looking into her eyes, the kitten quietly complied and began stumbling towards the nursery. A certain anxiety fell off her heart the moment Mintkit looked away and headed in the nursery's direction, the young queen right behind him. She looked over her shoulder a last time - eyes stopping on Foxtooth, Marshhowl and the other warriors, another lump forming in her throat. What happened? The question weigh heavy on her mind, though something told her she wouldn't want to know. A breath escaped her lips, eyes tearing away from the body and momentarily downcast, when Mintkit repeated a question. She lifted her gaze, eyes falling on the young kit. For a brief moment, her brows knit with worry, but the expression was quickly covered and gone. She gave him a sad smile. "I... don't.. know. But,.. whatever.. it is.. I'm su-sure... it'll... be..solved."
She replied with a gentle and quiet tone, so only the kitten could hear.
Soon enough, they finally found shelter in the nursery. The scent was overwhelmingly strong, yet also familiar. She hadn't been in here since... The queen shook her head. No. She had to stay focused, on Mintkit. Her eyes lowered back down to the young kitten, only to not find him beside her. For a moment, fear filled her heart and quickly she looked over her shoulder to find Mintkit there, a light breath of relief leaving her maw. But the kitten didn't look like he was fine; tiny claws dug into the dirt and tears welling up in his eyes. Nightshiver's heart broke at the sight. She hurried closer to Mintkit, gently looking the kit over but her words got stuck in her throat. She didn't know what to say.
Before she knew it however, a light paw came to carefully nudge her flank. Nightshiver hesitated for a moment, but a kind drew on her lips. "Of course."
The queen mew. She sat down, turning around to pull an empty nest closer. With a single white paw she padded the nest, offering it as a comfortable sitting spot for the young kitten before she began her story. "Once.. upon.. a time,... long ago.., there... was a.. warrior. A.. very.. strong, and... m-mighty warrior.., who p..protected... his.. clan.. with valiance. But most... importantly, he.. was kind. Willing to... help any... creature... in need. Do you... hap..happen... to know... this warrior's... name?"

Re: ShadowClan Nursery
Mintkit climbed gratefully into the feather-soft nest, proceeding to curl up beside Nightshiver and laying his head on his paws. His worry and shock was slowly wearing off as he focused on the story before him. The warm scent of milk and moss of the nursery soothed his heart, and the kit found himself trying his best to stay awake.
Mintkit shook his head no. A great warrior? How could a great warrior help every creature they came across? Helping others was for the soft who couldn't ignore others' pain, wasn't it? Questions in his eyes, the tom waited for the next part of the answer.
@Estelle
Lostkit was cuddled up in the nursery. In the warm nest, her mother made for the rest of the kits. Lostkit hated the idea of not being an Only-kit, but at the same time, she didn't really mind. Her siblings were not much of a problem yet.

Tonight was the first night that Shadowfur was sitting guard outside the nursery. He didn't trust his Clanmates to keep the young of their Clan safe. If any outsiders wanted to get to the kits, they'd have to go through him first.
He sat stoically and quietly, his claws unsheathed in preparation for a possible threat. His ears swiveled on his head, listening for any odd noises.
[ Open for one kit to approach him if anyone wants ]

Willowkit was feeling the absence of her family tonight. Her Dad was gone, Nec was gone, Woody was gone. Flowerkit, her one and only friend, was in the medicine den healing from the midnight attack that Willowkit was still pissed off over. After a moment of debate, she decided to leave the nursery, to get some fresh air. She rarely slept, anyways. So the molly padded silently out of the nursery, and almost had a heart attack when faced with a large cat standing beside the entrance, claws out. Fur spiking, Chub decided to investigate, creeping forward, before she recognized the tom as Shadowfur. Silently, the mottled kit stepped over, sitting down and staring straight out into the darkness.
"See anything?" The apprentice aged molly murmured to Shadowfur, dark amber eyes surveying the darkness. She was going to protect the kits tonight, like she should have protected Flo.
It's been a few moons since she was last in here; well, not exactly, she'd returned to the nursery just the other day, and before that too. However, truly being back now, in the sense that she was to sleep here again, it felt like she was back for the first time. And gave her quite the anxiety. The nursery was meant to be a place of life and joy, yet for her, it was a place of guilt and regret. Oh how she wished she'd done a better job keeping Bunnykit and Mothkit safe. How she wished she'd done a better job helping Brackenfire watch over her kits. Maybe then they wouldn't all be missing.
One may say the fault wasn't hers; that what happened was out of her reach of influence. But Nightshiver would disagree. If she'd stayed with Stonehollow, if she'd never gone to see Elmshadow, if she'd spent more time with Brackenfire -- maybe all of this could have been avoided. But, try she might, the young queen can't change the past. These feelings of guilt and regret, and these 'ifs', she now had to carry them with her, ever resurging whenever she lay eyes upon a kit or parent alike. That was her fate. Then why become a forever queen? Because she wants these children safe from harm; they deserve better than her, and yet she couldn't but be selfish and wish to protect them herself.
So now, here she was. It's been a few days since she officially joined Dappledleaf and one of ShadowClan's forever queens. Now, it was time for her to move back into the nursery. Standing the entrance, the white feline took a deep breath before ducking her head and heading inside. The hustle of the milk-scented den was familiar and warm, though she couldn't help the creeping cold feeling in her heart as she padded through the crowded area. ShadowClan had quite a few kits, Nightshiver could see why Dappledleaf might need the help.
But she was here on a mission. A simple one, yes, but a mission nonetheless: settled back into the nursery, thus arose the need of finding a free area and empty nest. This task wasn't easy, each nest smelling of various kittens and queens. That is why the feline had taken a few clumps of moss with her, so the may braid her own nest together. Finding an open area was easy enough; in a corner of the den, overlooking the rest of the nursery, and out of anyone's path, the queen found a suitable area. There, she sat, beginning to assemble a new and clean nest for herself.
