Frostberry just smiled softly, placing a paw on her swollen belly. "Morning." She chuckled warmly. "You seem lonely, Cricketfire."
(this feels awkward lmao)
(yeah... he's a depressed boy, so everything is awkward with him lol)
The skinny black and ginger tom blinked. Was he really that transparent? He thought he hid his emotions well, but obviously not enough. "Why would I be lonely?" He said dully. Miststone's face flashed in his vision, and he winced. Spottedkit and Sweetkit and Twigpaw were next, and he stiffened, clenching his jaw. His subconscious was trying to kill him, or something. He had been so happy. So... fatherly, even before Miststone had his kits. And now, he was lost, flailing about in a dark void of memories.
the elder den was cold and empty, leaving Shadeblossom alone, quietly laying in the corner of the elders den. she was the only elder, and cats would never vist anymore, but the old she liked the quiet nature of the den, so she didn’t complain

//this thread is horribly dead\\

BlueSea padded into the elders den, nodding at the elder as they approached. “ShadeBlossom, hello. could you come to the clearing to talk? it seems that everyone in wind clan is always complaining about shadow clan, which is no surprise” complaining does nothing! we should be tearing out shadowclans throats and- the warrior pulled themself out of thought, and waited for the elder she to respond.

ShadeBlossom raised her head, smiling up at the warrior. some company wouldn’t hurt i guess then. “ah right! the dirty fleabag clan, they smell like trash, those flat faced mouse brains killed so much.” the elder paused to think, then nodded. “i may be old, but i haven’t lost my legs young one.” ShadeBlossom padded out the elder den.

Frostberry saw him stiffen, and licked his shoulder. "It's fine, Miststone and your kits are happy and healthy in StarClan.." The slim mollie comforted him, even though she didn't know him that well. She could feel some kind of betrayal to her ex-fling.. to Wire. Wire was never the loving type cat Frost had hoped for, but nonetheless handsome. She had grown to love him and he had to. Until..
The accident.
But nevermind that, Cricketfire needed comforting, not her. She rested her head on his shoulder. "Calm down, Cricket."

// what if they vv slowly become mates?
(maybe if they vibe good, but it'll be hard for her to take Miststone's place, he was like, madly in love her)
In... StarClan? No, they couldn't possibly be dead. He seemed to deflate as the possibility of their death sank in. A freezing wave of nausea washed over him, and Cricketfire squeezed his eyes shut. The world was too colorful, too bright for a time like this. He just wanted them to be safe... and if he moved on, he would be betraying them. He remembered asking Miststone to be mates under the stars, and her telling him she was going to have kits.... how happy and terrified he had felt, he didn't know the little babies but he already wanted to care for them.
Frostberry's head rested on his shoulder, and he could feel a sad feeling radiating off of her, past his own grief. She was hurting too, so he didn't pull away. He didn't want to hurt anyone. His throat was dry, and he didn't try to speak. He just wanted someone to take care of, he needed to be needed by someone.

Cricketfire was sad, no.. More than sad. He was depressed, sad and lonely. Frostberry could relate with most of his sorrows, but her background wasn't as bad as his. His mate, the lovely Miststone, and his kits, Sweetkit Spottedkit, and Twigpaw. He had lost everything, hadn't Frostberry to? Her mother, Birdsong, and her father, Ospreyflight, were still alive, just distant in relationship from her, Flurrywind and Hailstorm, her brothers, who are rather closer than ever to her, are still here.
But, out of all of them, could she rely on them? Could she trust them? She never knew the answer to any of those questions, but she would find them out evenutally. But the overwhelming grief she felt about Wire was to much for her to bear especially alone. She need someone to lean on, someone to help her with the death of Wire..
Frostberry dug her face into Cricketfire's shoulder, tears threating to spill.
