Dragonflykit watched her father call forth Flintclaw. She had seen him around- Not often, of course, since she hardly ever mixed with.. Such brash types. Well, sometimes. But still. The cream speckled kit allowed her lips to twitch with something like the beginning of a smile, though it never fully formed. Flicking her fluffy tail elegantly, the dark she-cat dipped her head respectfully to both Spiderstar and Flintclaw.

This was well. This was as it should be. Thunderclan, would have order restored once more. Her father's next words, however?

Dragonflykit was not prepared.

'Dragonflykit. Step forwards please.'

Wait. Wait what?

Sunrise coloured eyes widening, the silky kit, just for a moment, let her perfect facade slip away, and for her shock to be openly displayed upon her features. After a couple seconds, she regained control of her features once more, and stood up gracefully.

Head held high, the dark, russet and brown she-cat stepped toward, approaching the Stormrest with smooth, silent confidence. The grace of a snake was imbued in her every move, and though her heart was hammering, her stride was steady. Dragonfly stopped, in front of Spiderstar, yellow eyes glinting.

"Bumblebreak, Flintclaw, Dr—"

Ah, wait, Dragonflykit hasn't technically accepted yet. Peachpaw awkwardly maneuvers that little whoopsie by feigning a short cough and rolling into a few more repetitions of those good Flintclaws and Bumblebreaks, then quieting down. Do we say anything for Spiderthroat yet? Fleapaw had, but that's different. He decides, no, probably not. Nobody else is.

Peachpaw adjusts himself. This feels like a great deal of change in an impossibly short amount of time, but the fact that it's being handled just as quickly keeps him from really being worried by it. It's just different, is all. A lot of different, all at once.

There she was. One of the kits of his that had gone missing, than come back. It took everything in his power to not get emotional. He had to keep it sensible. Truth be told, Treetiger was already in the med den, that was one of his brats already. What's another?

"Dragonflykit. Do you promise to heal, protect, and care for any ill, weak or fallen clanmates. As swiftly, and as justly as you can. No matter the number, no matter the ailments?" he asked. Claws digging into the sides of the Stormcrest.

Dragonflykit used all of her self-control to not burst into tears. That would be most improper. Swishing her tail, the beautiful speckled she-cat met her father's gaze evenly, sunrise coloured eyes bright, but still hiding that same dark twinkle she always had.

Raising her head proudly, Dragonfly said, in her clearest voice, "I do." And she would. When she put her mind to something, she stuck to it, no matter what. And maybe, it was also a personal vengeance that drove her to stick with this decision- She would not fail like Wolfpaw. Her father would never die at her paws. She would die herself first.

It wasn't enough just to think about this, just to process it in her head. So suddenly, the spirit walked into the clearing she had lived in for so long before just dying. "Spiderthroat," she yowled, "Flintclaw!" she cheered, he deserved that. Spiderthroat was making good decisions. And then Dragonflykit was called up, for presumably medicine cat apprentice. She was glad a name like hers was somewhere important. She was glad she would be remembered. Bumblebreak stepped down, but that was okay. Understandable. She was treating this like a normal day, because she wanted it to be. She didn't want to be dead. But she was here anyways. Then waited patiently until Dragonflykit said her "I do!" and cheered, "Dragonflypaw!" as well as if dead cats coming back to celebrate this was a normal behaviour.

His gaze caught what seemed like Dragonflycliff in the back of he clearing. Instantly his eyes welled. He couldn't cry. he wouldn't. The sting of loosing someone, after fighting so hard for her to live. She could have if she'd gotten seen first. If her wounds were a priority. Instead she was left to sit for far too long. She held on so long, only for her to fall asleep for forever. It was beyond frustrating. A deep, shaky breath, an attempt to keep the tears at bay. Just barely winning the internal battle.

"Than by the powers of what the Medicine Cats use, an by the ancestors that are probably watchin this ceremony and wondering why I'm tryin to fill all the ranks so fast, your name is now Dragonflypaw. You will be apprenticed under Treetiger as medicine cat apprentice." a pause. "Your name has a heavy meaning. Use it with care, and wisely. I won't hesitate to re-name you if I hear that you're doing Dragonflycliff injustice." he packed on. He loved his kids. he did. Truly. But he also needed to make sure that just because they were his brats, it didn't mean they could get away with anything and everything. Rules were there to be followed, and respected.

Now. Finally. With that out of the way, he could continue on with ceremonies. First things first. Warrior Ceremonies. Many needed done. Many apprentices more than deserved their ceremonies, many waiting for a moon. Far too long.

"Now. If you hear your name, step fowards. you will be recieving your Warrior names today." he bellowed once the commotion for Dragonflypaw calmed down.

"Rainpaw , Lightningpaw , Cloudedpaw , Sagepaw , Dawnpaw , Sunflowerpaw and Butterflypaw please step forwards." he called. A lot to get through. But believe it or not. Even more kits. Whoo boy. His throat was going to be dry.

So much had honestly happened so quickly.
Ms Bumble Stepped down, dad was leader now(honestly that's so cool!), new deputy, and then Dragonfly is the medicine cat apprentice!
She starts cheering quickly.

"DA-" She quickly realizes he should at least use his actual name for the cheering "SPIDERTHROOAAAAAT!!! Flintclaw! DRAGONFLYYYPAAAWWWW!"
Oof, lungs.

And then it's the warrior ceremonies.
She listens to the names and-
WhoWHA???
ALREADY?

Butterflypaw briefly pauses where she is for a moment, processing.
And then she steps forward.

Alpinemoon cheered on for the new promoted clanmates. Then, Dragonflycliff appeared. She thought, "What? Is this even possible? How is Dragonflycliff here even when she's dead?"

Chasmpaw's heart was beating hard due to her mother Dragonflycliff's death. Once Dragonflycliff appeared out of nowhere, she lost it and ran towards Dragoncliff. "Mother! Why didn't you chat more with me when you had the chance?! I feel..." Chasmpaw suddenly stopped and she breathed hard. How can her only family die without spending time with her? Tears swelled up and it was very rare for anyone to see her raw emotions.

"Why did you leave me behind...all by myself? I have no family who is alive anymore...I miss my siblings and father...But, why didn't you seize the chance?! To spend time with your only family?" She said with intense sadness and anger. Chasmpaw stared at Dragonflycliff with hopelessness.

Flintclaw was still a bit in shock, but took his seat beside Stormcrest as clanmates resumed cheers. It only burned him to hear of Dragonflycliff. He wasn't quite so vehemently angry at Hollowpaw. It was probably best for the clan, in all reality. Spiderthroat called for Dragonflykit. His own daughter. The dark tabby watched and kept his head high while he sat. He didn't care that his chest still burned. It didn't matter than he couldn't feel his left paw anymore, nor that an ear that no longer existed burned like the sun.

It was certainly a choice... but could he really blame the new leader for hand-picking those in such a precious position? One that always seemed to fail in Thunderclan? He didn't know exactly what he had done to be on the newly made leader's radar, but he knew he would continue to prove it to be the correct choice. He cheered Dragonflypaw's name along with the clan, regardless of the pain of his ribs.

It was strange how Reddove could go from insults to cheering his name. Something told him, though, that he would certainly continue his prodding another time. There was certainly no doubt that Dragonflycliff-

Wait, that wasn't the cat he was thinking of. His eyes fell on the calico she-cat at the back of the crowd and his chest clenched painfully. He heard her call his name. Call Dragonflypaw's name. He knew she wasn't there. She couldn't be there. He turned his attention away as best he could, focusing on the announcements that were quickly resuming. Maybe it was time to rethink his understanding of Starclan. His chest only tightened more as Chasmpaw proved that he wasn't seeing things.

He made a mental note to find the 'paw after this meeting was over.

There. Now he can say it. A-hem.

"Dragonflypaw! Dragonflypaw! Dr—agonflycliff??"

IS THAT ALLOWED? So, what, she's not dead? Peachpaw cranes, big eyes catching and sticking on the spectre. She's literally right there. Maybe she just didn't feel like hanging out on the floor of the medicine cat's den until sundown? It does seem like a pretty harsh sentence, even for a corpse. Which that is not. A ghost? What, of a good, well-meaning clanmate? Peachpaw didn't think they got those.

Recently deceased Dragonflycliff coming back to celebrate Dragonflypaw, new medicine cat apprentice. Peachpaw's no expert in these matters, but if that's not a good omen, what is?

He opts not to say anything about it, but he can't help his staring. In an effort to tear his eyes away, he catches Alpinemoon evidently spying the same thing that he has. The bobtail picks his way over and seats himself closer to Alpinemoon.

"That's fine, right? Dragonflycliff's a 'good' ghost?" He asks urgently, paying half-attention to the apprentices now being gathered up for their warrior ceremonies. "...............Because you see her too, right? Like, what Chasmpaw's doing?"

Stars he sure hopes so.
