"Not really anything.... Yet!" She said, smiling. "Well... I don’t really like ShadowClan, but I know there are some good cats there!" She mewed, nodding. "Yeah! I'd like to hear your opinion!" She said, flicking her Fluffy tail back and forth.

Hemlockhill | @Moonraven | Tunnel Discussion

Ears pricking in heed to a voice sounding from behind, Hemlockhill turned, meeting the eye of her superior who seemed to question her reasoning for occupying the tunnels. For a moment, she did not speak, a heartbeat of silence inhabiting the air between them as Hemlockhill sought the words that would secure her from punishment and much more, exile if Twilightstar found it appropriate for her absence. However, the shaded warrior opted to shake the apprehension from her pelt, clearing her throat and taking steps to meet the fair leader where she stood. Bowing her head, Hemlockhill parted her jaws to speak, words even and solid despite the erratic beat of her heart.

"My apologies, Twilightstar, I did not mean to cause alarm. It is in my nature to venture beneath the surface as my kin before I have done long ago." Hemlockhill spoke sincerely, giving mention to her relatives and how it had also been them who inspired her exploration of the tunnels loitering in the WindClan terrain. Hemlockhill found herself built for digging and for navigating the world beneath the pads of her clan-mates. Her small stature was key to maneuvering through the tight spaces and crevices others could not, and her polydactyl paws made digging the soil much simpler than those who did not possess such mutation. The underground delivered peace to Hemlockhill, a peace that she was uncertain Twilightstar would understand if she ever attempted to explain it to her leader.

Swaying her lengthy tail along with the autumn hues of the moorland floor, Hemlockhill continued, drawing her sights to the tunnel that she had exited from mere minutes ago. "Fret not, however. I know my absence may have been discouraging for WindClan, though I swear I was beneath your paws the entire time." She paused. "ShadowClan has caused us quite the casualties from their... gruesome attack. I suspect Dawnstar lacks any guide that may lead her down an ethical path of morale and honor. Forgive me if you find me repeating what you have declared, but if they dare to attack so unjustly with tooth and claw, it is but our right to attack with an equal force... If not more." She glimpsed at the expression of her leader, watching her features intently to catch her reaction to her words.

Hemlockhill was unsure of how her leader would respond to her encouragement to fight as ShadowClan had done, ripping flesh off bone and spilling blood from the jugular vein of their enemies. But what other choice did they possess? Hemlockhill motioned to the tunnels, continuing her thoughts and emitting them aloud. "While I was in the tunnels, I found a variety of small trails that led towards the border of our enemies. It formed an idea in my mind... an advantage that we could use against the brutes of ShadowClan. Would they expect us to ambush them? Surely, they are aware of our means to seek vengeance, but what if we deliver a surprise attack from beneath the earth?" Hemlockhill paused. "I fret that there are more ShadowClan than WindClan, but if we gather ourselves and create a pathway towards them underground, we can ambush ShadowClan without them having been prepared. Even more so... We can have decoys, Twilightstar. We can take out multiple cats at once by leading those mouse-brains underground only for them to be crushed by our ploys of the earth falling upon them. Certainly, Dawnstar would not have anticipated that."

Unprepared cats expect the worst and most get it, mangled and slaughtered along the border. ShadowClan are psychos, but they ARE Intelligent, not the brutes we make them out to be. We send them their prey and they joyfully hunt...It is very, very scary to think about, but it is the truth.”

The molly nodded, thinking about it carefully. "It's true. I do agree with you." She mewed, nodding gently. She flicked her tail at the smell of rabbit. She crouched down, carefully making her way, and leaping onto it, biting it's neck and snapping it's neck. She smiled, and brought the rabbit back to Elderflare.

Seeing what each cat focused on and knew allready was fascinating to the tom and his tail flicked amused at what responses he got. "Yall are correct in some ways; Sound does travel far an' ya cant see so scent is best but be quiet because what ya do will echo, good job Jaypaw but that's not the biggest reason. Ya see in the tunnels theres not much prey can do ta run from ya and cornered prey is dangerous prey. Why? Cornered prey fights back. For the larger prey you'll find they will put up a hell of a fight and its more of a battle then a hunt but the returns are worth it especially in winter when a lotta prey will be sheltering underground. Rabbits will kick but you can find them bunched up in their warren dens so ya can catch like five at a time, groundhogs will scratch and bite hard but their systems hold colonies meaning if you find one others will be around. Voles dont do much ta be honest but the risk there is diggin' smart." The tom took a moment to kinda cough and clear his raspy throat that'd been growing a little too rough at the end there before starting again.


"Which is why we'll start with them, as ya follow me keep an ear to the walls and if you here scratching in em you've found a vole wall. We just need to dig em out to catch em and Ill show you how. Light paws, good luck, and follow me we'll head off now, to move faster keep your head low and whiskers brushing against the ground to guide you theyre your eyes down here. If ya loose me head up and go back to camp but I wont be runnin' so ya should be able to follow, yell or do somthin to tell me if you hear scratchin' an I dont." With that final rasp and a wheeze of fresh breath the tom turned tail and ducked into the dark making a decent pace on light feet as he kept his head low and ear pricked.

She watched the tilt of his head. His words struck a slight chord with her for some reason. Perhaps because of the fact that it was traumatizing, and had left Swiftwind fearing tight spaces. It always felt like they were closing in on her, and yet somehow the drift of Bearbranchs scent, and knowing he was nearby was oddly comforting. Being snapped from her thoughts, Swiftwind gave a few slow blinks before a soft breath drifted from her muzzle. It was amusing to think no one seemed to like Bearbranch, when he was willing enough to put with with the small brown she-cat. “No, no really,” giving a small shrug, Swiftwind shook her head as she thought over what she had been doing. “Lately I’ve just been doing my duties and hanging out at camp,” some days, Swiftwind thought this was more of simple life. When Windclan didn’t have to deal with Shadowclan breathing down their necks, it was like life had gone dull almost. But it was also quite a bit of a relief to know the clan was safe.
