Meeting With A Kiwi

Ivy was a bit too far away at first, but once she came back with food she heard Kiwi's call of distress. Now? Wasn't it a little early? Ivy bolted to where she left her mate in the sun, but by the time she got there, Kiwi seemed to not need her help.
"Kiwi! I'm here! Are you alright?!" There were already 2 squiggling bundles near her mate's belly, but she was poking at a third who didn't seem to be moving. Was it...okay? She poked at it with her nose with a sad look on her face. Poor thing... @Minty @Home Alone @Echo

Kiwi shook her head, remaining silent, then her eyes peered up. They were dull, not a even flicker of light in them.
”She’s gone.” the marbled she-cat whimpered.
She curled the other two kits near her stomach, still gazing at the third one. Why did this happen? She was lucky to have her other two kits, but why would the third one be born if only to die? She swept the thoughts from her mind away, occasionally trembling. She was guilty for the dead kit, but Kiwi had to focus on caring for the other two if she didn’t want them to die as well. She ripped her eyes away painfully, and looked down at the other two kits, snuggling by her. She sighed a sigh of sadness, but decided to push it away. She would forever feel it, but right now she didn’t want to.
”You were right,” she mewed softly. “They are dark colored.”
She looked back and forth from the first kit, a black she-cat with a white belly, paws, and face, to the second kit, a black tabby with brown paws. They were quite beautiful.
“This one will be named Midnight,” she mewed, pointing the the black and white kit with her nose. ”While the other will be named Raven.”

Midnight sneezed and curled closer to her mother. She had just finished suckling but was freezing. She shivered as she hugged closer to her mother to get warm.

The small kit raven wailed. She nudged her mom a bit. Raven began to suckle from her mother.
