Cypresskit sat calmly as she listened to the other kit get a bit frustrated as he explained his thought process. She nodded and looked at Bugkit with a friendly smile. The she-kit didn't care that it took a while longer for some cats and took a short amount of time on some, she'd wait and listen. "In chase, the way to win is to get everyone else playing." The light-brown cat replied, "For mossball, you have to get so good that you never drop the ball. Then you'd be the best at the game." She stood up a moment and moved a little before sitting back down with her tail on her paws. "Both are just fun to play too." The kitten added. She had a feeling her friend already knew the last part but she said it anyway.

Bugkit thought for a moment,"Makes sense... I guess.. Well, then lets play mossball since i don't see any other kits nearby," they laughed, looking around.

Nightsong stared at her sister for a moment, then followed after. "Don't see why we have to go... We could drown! Or get eaten by wolves, or BIG fish, or foxes, or get lost, or—" She clamped her mouth shut, figuring her sister wouldn't listen. She never listens to my perfectly good reasons to stay in camp, Nightsong thought.

Feathercloud starred down at her kits, pain rushing through her heart as they spoke. "We're your parents. Rather you like it or not!" snapped the queen, running away as fast as a bolt of lightening. She kept running until she reached the place she hid away at which was the one place between a couple of bushes. Frozenkit's breath caught in his chest. It all made since but there was so much mystery. The white tom kit stumbled back pressing against his sister harder. That all knew? All of them and no one told us? He thought his claws digging into the pebbly ground. He took no notice to his mother running away
Riverkit was silent not sure what to feel. The silver tabby felt very small at the moment her pelt prickly. "You, you mean you all knew? Even, Ice, Icebelly. " She asked her quite voice full of mixed emotions. The molly didn't know what to make of it. Should she behappy? Sad? She didn't know what she felt. Why did they leave us? Was it me? She wondered feeling better with her brother pressed to her.
Whiteflash watched his mate run off. Why did this have to be so hard? Taking a breath he looked at his kits. "Yes we all knew." He meowed. Frozenkit made some noise but he took no notice. " Tour mother and I regret our decision-" He started but was cut off by his son.
Frozenkit's tail lashed. "She was never ours mother nor you our father! Icebelly was and always will be!" He hissed the emotion behind it unreadable.
"Frozenkit... " Riverkit bethered but didn't finished her sintince. Whiteflash gave his kits a pitiful look of either pain or grief then he turned and left to find his mate. Soon enough he did and pushed though the bush. The white tom hated seeing Feathercloud like this. Bending his neck he prested his muzzle to her cheek. "Are you alright?" He asked in a whisper.

Cypresskit meowed excitedly, "Great. Wait right there. I'll be right back." She looked at Bugkit with a grin before bouncing away towards the opposite end of the clearing. She scraped up a few bits of moss, making a semi-round ball of moss. The kit held it under her chin lightly and headed back to her friend. She set the ball of moss down by Bugkit and backed up a bit, grinning. Her tail lashed with excitement.

Feathercloud looked up at her mate, pain rushing through her eyes. Shr felt her paws began to shake. "It's all my fault. Thry hate us and its because of me." meowed Feathercloud, letting out a cry. She stumbled to her paws as she walked over to the nursery, her head down, trying her best to avoid making eye cobtact with her older kits. Feathercloud was so ashamed that she felt like nobody wanted her around. Would the kits she was expecting rehect just like Riverkit and Frozenkit. Flowerpaw walked over to her aunt, seeing what had happened. The apprentice followed close behind her. "Are you okay?" asked Feathercloud's neice as she gave the queen a quick lick between the ears.

Shocked murmurs sounded around her causing her ear to flick in irritation. Now really wasn't the time for something interesting to be happening. she squeezed her eyes tighter and pinned her ears to the back of her head trying to block the murmuring whispers. Clan cats where annoying when it came to the way they talked about others, the way they whispered and how they seemed to have the best news about somebody and you could find it everywhere. Even in the nursery there was talk of other kits constantly. She had remembered how horrible it was to go back there that night, to lay awake imagining the fear starlingkit must've felt. He was running away from all he had known only on the peek of his apprenticeship, memories flooded back quickly causing her heart to speed up. I miss you. Please come back. Please be alright. it was almost like there was nothing she could do to get him out of her mind, he had been her only friend considering everyone else thought she was too short to be a warrior. She bit the inside of her cheek as sour memories started replacing the sweet ones.

It was painful to think about, being an older sister and having known you did nothing to keep her younger brother here. She had begged him to stay, begged and pleaded but she could've done better. There was os much to say about it, so much she could've done. To keep him away from the harsh and unforgiving world that seemed to creep in on all sides, just waiting for you to slip and fall. He was so young, so innocent, why did you take him a way from me? her fluffy tail gave another irritated lash as the voices seemed to perk up causing her anger to spark. Why can't you shut up?! her eyes popped open a moment later focusing on the main source of the noise but what they fell upon was not what she was expecting. Not whatsoever.

Her heart rate spiked ridiculously and she suddenly found it as though she couldn't breath. Starlingkit had come back to her? Is it true? She didn't hesitate to stand as the mysterious cat came towards her. The curve of his chin, the gait of his walk, the spots on his fur. It's him. her legs where shaking now as she struggled to keep herslef cool. Am I angry? Am I sad? Am I happy? What am I?! When he stopped a few pawsteps in front of her she felt her heart stop- temporarily freeze as she clamped her jaws shut and she held her breath. No one said anything for the longest moment and they just stood, golden eyes studying each other's for a painfully long few seconds. 'Hey... Did ya miss me?' her bottom lip quivered and she leapt bowling the Tom over despite being half his size. She rolled him over and forced him onto his back "i- it's you! i- it's really you! You've come back!" she cried out tears threatening to spill over her cheeks as she gazed fondly down on him.

The tom stood there, frozen in fear. The look she was giving him, he couldn't read it, couldn't tell what she was feeling, what she was thinking. Not like how he could when they were kits. He wanted to run back into the forest, run away like the coward he was, but his legs were rooted right where they were, he couldn't even make them twitch. It hurt. His breath hitched and he opened his maw to say something, anything. 'I'm sorry.' 'Forgive me' 'Is there anyway I could make it up to you?' 'Am I still your little brother?' the words clumped in his throat, keeping him from spewing a single thing, emotions all jumbled up. "M-Marshy I-" just as he had managed to choke something out he felt the wind leave his lungs and suddenly he was looking at the sky, at the sun. He let out a wheezed gasp and screwed his eyes shut, a slight grimace on his face. He wasn't expecting the wind to get knocked out of him, much less get tackled by his older sister. Maybe she wanted to cuff him, scratch him, bite him, anything to vent her anger. He kept his eyes closed and waited, but, when no claws made contact with his fur he peeked an eye open, and what he saw instantly made his stomach churn and his own golden eyes water. A tear drop hit his cheek, than another, and soon it was like steady rain. The tom sniffed and managed to give her a weak smile, tears now rolling down, landing upon the camp floor "Y-yeah, it's me, I'm home." he sobbed the last part and pulled Marshfoot closer, hugging her, hugging her tightly.

Starling let out a sob and buried his face in her shoulder. He was unable to tell her how much he missed her, how much he wanted to come back a long time ago, how much he wished it was different, but the words just came out as incoherent sobs and wails. All sense was lost. He was home, that's all that mattered at the moment. The fresh scent, the smell of the morning dewdrops, the fish, all of it, it was perfect. He felt nothing but this numbing fuzziness spreading throughout his entire body, suffocating his soul, his heart. He held onto his sister tight "I'm home, I'm home, I'm home, I'm home." he continued on and on, each filled with more and more joy, more raw emotion. He didn't want to leave ever again, he didn't want to experience the loneliness, the hatred, the guilt that ripped a gaping hole in his heart ever again. He wouldn't be able to bear it. "Don't let me leave again." he sobbed, pleading words muffled by his sisters ebony coat.

"Silverkit!" Someone called. Silverkit turned her head towards the sound, but couldn't see where it came from. That wasn't her priority right now, though.
"Now, at least we're back inside the clearing."Nightwhisker sighed.
"But I really have to talk this out with you, and I will tell Stormlily about this later."He explained to Silverkit. Silverkit braced herself for Nightwhisker telling her off, but the yelling never came. "Why did you go out there? Didn't Stormlily tell you that you can't go outside the clearing yet unless you are accompanied by a warrior?" He asked calmly. Silverkit saw her chance to get away without the blame and nodded. "But I thought I saw you entering the clearing, and then just leave. I thought you forgot that you promised to tell some stories... So I went out there to remind you."The lie rolled of Silverkits toungue smoothly. "But clearly, it wasn't you. Maybe it was a leaf or something. I'm sorry..." Silverkit meowed. She was suprised that they hadn't yelled at her, when she has been close to that red berry they had been in a complete panic.
Though, when she told them that she hadn't touched it, they seemed to recover. Rainpaw looked at her with empathy. "You didn't mean to do it, and every cat makes mistakes." Nightwhisker nodded at the words. "Yes, the most important thing is that you are okay." He told her. Silverkit got a slight weight in her chest when Rainpaw believed her so easily, but she tried to ignore it. She stretched her claws down into the earth, she wouldn't get lost or anything. Why did they have to be so worried? "I wouldn't have been completely defenseless! If some cat tried to enter our territory I would have scared them off. Like this!" Silverkit fluffed up her pelt, and tried to leap forward as she had seen one of the warriors do in the clearing before. She accidentally stepped on Rainpaws tail in the process. "The foxes should be careful of their tails." Rainpaw purres, his eyes glistening with amusement.
Silverkits pelt grew hot in embarrassment. "I'd claw them of then!" She exclaimed. Nightwhisker silenced them with his tail. "Foxes aren't usually seen this time around, and the the other clans would be busy taking advantage of the new-leaf thats coming closer. But that's not the danger. That berry that was in front of you. Do you know the name of it?" Nightwhisker asked with a tone of seriousness in his voice. Silverkit shaked her head. Why was that important? "They are called death-berries." He began. Silverkit warmth from a moment ago was lost in a second, and even though the sun was shining she felt like she had gone swimming in the winter water. Deathberries?! "Only medicine cats learn the names of the herbs, but most cats know to avoid the deathberry. Only eating a bit of it could kill you, especially since you are a kit. Thankfully, you didn't touch it, but you should go see the medicine cat just in case." He explained.
"I'll have to tell Stormlily what happened, so Rainpaw will acompany you." He told them, before turning away and padded towards the nursery. Rainpaw put his tail to her shoulder. "Don't be too worried, this is just in case." He assured her. Silverkit didn't answer, but followed Rainpaw numbly.
Herbs could kill a cat easier than claws! And I wouldn't even have had a chance to fight back... She shuddered.

Bugkit hooked the moss ball with their claws, studying Cypresskit and the area around her for a moment before throwing the wad of moss right above her head,"Heads up!" They laughed, hoping she would catch it.

Quillbreeze sat calmly on the earthy floor, her out-of-practice claws digging into the soft, viridescent vegetation under her paws. Ever since she finished training, she hadn't had to use her claws for much of anything, and the cool, relaxed, almost tingly feeling she had when she stretched them felt good. Quill glanced around the clearing, her chartreuse optics flickering happily. The camp seemed quietly buzzing with activity; kits playing games, warriors lounging and chatting, apprentices daring each other. However, the young warrior felt she didn't quite fit in with any of these groups. Too mature to play with the apprentices, not mature enough to play with the kits (only adult cats play with little kitties!), and yet, not old enough to fit in with the casual warriors' conversation. Instead, she sat silently, watching, waiting.
