High Rank Announcement [#hrannouncement]

It's been a little since she was missing one of the furballs. The leader's amber gaze tracked each kit as they made their way to the front. None of them look petrified, so that was a win in itself. Dawnstar glanced in the direction of the dark enforcer as she moved away from the crowd of cats to talk to two individuals that had no right to be here. Dawnstar wasn't going to bother getting involved, Mirehound was fine on her own. Still, considering Calmriver and Silvershadow were trespassing, Dawnstar could technically have them killed. Dawnstar sighed to herself, pushing her more violent thoughts away, and gave the kits the full attention they deserved.

"We're missing Smokekit, but that's a problem he'll have to deal with." She meowed. "Smolderingkit, Vulturekit, Mousekit, Hollowkit, and Spiritkit. You've all reached the age of six moons and it's time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forth until you receive your warrior names, you'll be known as Smolderingpaw, Vulturepaw, Mousepaw, Hollowpaw, and Spiritpaw." She felt silent as the clan congratulated them in their usual traditional way.

"Vixensnarl, your nearly done with Frigidpaw's training, so I know I can trust you to train Smolderingpaw well." Despite thoughts, Smolderingpaw was not her favorite out of the batch of newly made apprentices. He was simply the most entertaining. She felt like Vixensnarl would be a decent fit for the tom.

"Shadowfur, you're proven to be a hard worker with a desire for responsibility. Mousepaw will be training under you." Little by little, Shadowfur was showing Dawnstar that he was a loyal member of ShadowClan and to her. Despite his conflicting feelings regarding Mousepaw, she knew she trust him to actually finish the paw's training.

"Ivysnake, I know it's been a while since your last apprentice and that you're recovering. However, you've always exceeded my expectations when it comes to your duty to the clan. I am certain the results will be the same as Vulturepaw's mentor." Dawnstar had no doubts when it came to Ivysnake teaching Vulturepaw. Vulturepaw had a similar drive as his brother, Smolderpaw, so it was only fitting that Dawnstar gives them mentors of similar talent and devotion.

"Spiritpaw,"golden eyes peered that the haughty apprentice. It was not uncommon in a clan like ShadowClan to have arrogant apprentices, just look at Wildpaw. Dawnstar wasn't overly fond of arrogance since she felt it went paw-in-paw with insolence and that often cause mistakes and problems for her. "Iciclestrike will be serving as your mentor. Hopefully, they can keep your attention far better than I can."

"Finally, Larkfire, I know you are young, and naturally you'll still have much to learn. However, you've shown great promise and maturity beyond your age. I know you'll have no problems taking on Hollowpaw as your apprentice." Larkfire has shown bits of vulnerability and self-doubt here and there, but nothing Dawnstar had considered overly weak or crippling. She knew the Enforcers had worked on training apprentices in the past, so taking care of her own shouldn't be difficult.

Once the clan has quieted down, and mentors and apprentices moved out of the way, Dawnstar twitched her air commanding Cougarpaw to stand at the base of the Shadowledge. "I, Dawnstar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of the warrior, and I commend him to you as a warrior in their turn. Cougarpaw, do you promise to serve and protect ShadowClan even at the cost of your life?"

Shadefrost watched the ceremonies take place with little to no interest. It wasn't as if it had anything to do with him, so why should he care. Then, just as he was about to tune everything out and stare off into space, he heard his leader mention a familiar name, one that brought him back to reality as quickly as a claw swipe.

He looked over to Dappledleaf and whispered with one of the widest grins he'd ever mustered, "is what I think is about to happen actually about to happen?" A simple question, yes. But one that filled Shadefrost with more pride and joy than he'd usually have.

Darkpaw saw Mouse, now the little one was an apprentice. He was happy to see Mousepaw there
and decided to go congratulate him. He hasn't know Mousepaw but between him and himself, he might
have a soft spot for the new apprentice. He'll see Mousepaw a lot from now on.

After the ceremony finishes he finally made it over to
Mousepaw. "Congrats," He meowed in a deadpanned voice
even though in reality he was happy for him but Mouse
didn't need to know.

With a grateful glance towards Aspenpaw, Mirehound returned his look with one of approval before shifting it back towards the cat in question. Ah, so she did seem to know how long she had been missing. The Enforcer also wasn't a fan of the expression she wore either. Ears swiveled back briefly to catch the way Dawnstar continued with the meeting. That meant the queen had likely seen what was happening, which meant it was being placed with her what to do. She knew she couldn't just send them back out into the territory, less she wanted the knowledge of a cat who did not belong lurking in the shadows.

There was no smile evident on the shadow's face as she regarded the she-cat. Tail tip flicking side to side as she tried to figure out what to do, she finally settled on escorting the trespasser out. "You will be coming with me to the borders. It will be in the outskirts you wait for either an Enforcer like myself, or Dawnstar. Cross a paw back into ShadowClan territory," she threatened in a low, calm purr that only the cat before her would hear, "and you will forfeit it. Understood?" Not that Mirehound was actually waiting for an answer. Normally she would've sought reason as to why the she-cat had been missing, and given her an opportunity to explain herself. But seeing as she had tried to slip in during a meeting undetected and rejoin that way, the Enforcer was less inclined to offer patience.

Oh - Shadowfur was getting another apprentice? Shock registered briefly in her gaze as she glanced over her shoulder to find her former mentor. An unreadable gaze rested in her eyes as she stared at her former mentor for a beat or two. Unresolved emotion churned within her stomach but she had gotten better at squeezing it out and squashing it down into the bottom of her heart. Stars be with that apprentice... Alongside that it appeared several of her fellow Enforcers were also getting apprentices. It reminded her to finish up Sedgepaw's training here soon since the 'paw was climbing up in age and was only one moon off from the age she had been when starting her training.

Looking to Dawnstar, she gave a single nod to the queen with a sharp flick of her tail in the direction of the trespasser to indicate she had it handled before turning back to Silvershadow, signaling her to come along. "Let's go." With that she began to lead the she-cat out of camp at a brisk pace; she wanted to get her out of the territory and back to the meeting before her challenge to Cougarivy was announced.

[ @nykyrian @Silvershadow13 - Mire will be escorting Silver out to the outskirts where she has been instructed to wait for another Enforcer or Dawn to continue her rejoining. I'm not entirely certain how this will affect the current joining though so if there are any issues @Undertaker definitely let me know! @Cherry~ In case Shadow wants to feel eye daggers to his back skdjfs

Cougarpaw stood up very straight and looked up towards Dawnstar with sincerity in his eyes. “I do.” He said confidently.

He was very good at making it because on the outside he seemed calm, cool, and collected, but on the inside he was stirring and buzzing with excitement

She gave a sly smile and nodded,
"Of course, I wouldn't want to intrude on my home clan, how rude of me. Please, lead the way Mirehound" she signaled with her tail to the entrance of the camp. And waited to follow her, walking behind the Enforcer, she started a petty conversation,
"So why exactly are you the one escorting me out, last I heard you were a plain warrior" her voice was filled with nagging, as though she was trying to anger Mirehound, which in this case she was.

For now, her worry was put at the back of her mind, and pride welled through her as Dawnstar spoke the traditional words, officially bestowing upon her son the name Mousepaw. Shadowfur, Sunsetthorn knew she should be proud that her son was chosen to be mentored by one of the enforcers, but she didn't feel she knew enough about Shadowfur. All the same, of all the Shadowclan warriors he could've got, she had nothing against Shadowfur and found herself hopeful. Rather than overthinking too far, she gave Mousepaw a bright smile and a congratulatory cheer as he ceremoniously moved on to the next stage of his life.

**Elmshadow**

The dark medicine cat watched the apprentice ceremony, with particular interest paid to the grey kit as he walked confidently up to the Shadowledge from where he'd been outside the nursery. Elmshadow's green eyes had lingered on his daughter for a brief moment before following his grandson up. The pride was clear on her face and it struck him how much she looked like her mother in that moment. Goldenstep had always been so proud of their kits. He pulled his thoughts from his daughter and watched Mousekit earn his 'paw. His only other grandson wasn't there beside his brother, which struck Elmshadow but he that was a matter her knew little about and wasn't worth thinking on in the moment. His first grandson was moving into apprenticeship. His face remained flat but he watched Mousepaw and silently praised the young tom, approving of his draw of Shadowfur as mentor. Mousepaw was feisty though he wasn't as arrogant as his brother. He'd have to learn to grow thicker skin but Elmshadow felt sure Shadowfur could get him there. Nevertheless, he'd keep an eye on the young tom's training as he did with all of his kin.

Meeting be darned, Larkfire had not expected to gain an apprentice. Not in the least, no. But as she cocked her head and listened to what Dawnstar had to say, it was hard to ignore the swell of pride - of belonging - that she felt. Her leader, who was often labeled as scary or mean or unforgiving, had bestowed upon her the greatest gift she could ask for with just a few words. Dawnstar had gave her a gift, all those moons ago, had given her somewhere she could really call a home. It made Lark itch, to feel in debt of someone, and the youngest Enforcer resisted the urge to actually reach up and scratch her neck.

Standing, Lark let her long limbs carry her over to Hollowpaw, lowering her head to gently touch her muzzle to the apprentice's own. It was apparently custom in ShadowClan to do so. She'd seen many a mentor do it, including Sorrelflare with her.

Mossy.. was a paw now? Elation, undiluted and pure, lit in Wrenkit's eyes as she beheld the meeting. Her friend was a paaaaw!! How exciting was that?! Wrenkit hadn't even known one could go from -kit to -paw. But now... Mossy was a Mossypaw! No.. no, she had to get her friend's name right, at least. Brow furrowing as Wrenkit tried to recall Mossy's proper name, it only took some inspiration from the chanting cats around her to remember - Mousekit! Or, in this case, Mousepaw! Small mouth opening wide, the little she-kit giggled happily, cupping her mouth to let out a shrill shriek. A shriek of delight, if you will. "Mossy!!" Wait no. That was wrong. Stopping her wrong name-labeling for a moment, the young kitten let herself form the right name for a rare moment. "Mousepaw! Mousey!!" Oh dear, there she went ruining all the names again.
