Re: ShadowClan Evacuation
(( @ Wyldfire ))
(( I don't know what I'm doing so I'm just going to mention you, not do the longest post, and hope this all doesn't go to hell ))
Goldeneye was still glancing around for any cat that needed help. He was almost planning on ditching everyone else and getting Halestar, but that thought made him sound like he was a pathetic coward that clung to the leader. He didn't want to be like that, after all, if he became leader, what was he supposed to do? Go crying to the other clans? No. He would not do that. He was strong. The deputy glanced around for any cats that needed assistance that weren't getting any. Upon not seeing anyone, he decided to look around for Tempestjay. Sure, he didn't want to exactly look for a cat who had his own problems probably, but Golden was going to do it anyways. The Tom had saved Golden from drowning anyways, and if that wasn't something to be grateful for, he didn't know what was. Taking a deep breath, he looked around through the crowd, trying to watch for others too, but mostly looking for Tempest, his golden and green eyes darting back and forth as he looked around.

The golden warrior giggled a little and was pleaseed with himself, even though he made a fool of himself he managed to calm the Molly's nerves. He shook himself off and once again placed his tail on Redpaws flank, and began to trudge forward. "How about we both look together? If we find my family then you could stay with us till we get to Riverclan, and if we Find your mother or mentor then we'll stick with them and do the same thing." he suggested. The tom didn't like this, the roar of the rain, the screeching and yelling of his clanmates around him, he wanted it to stop. It was all to much to take in, the feeling of the mud beneath his paws, the noises around him, the many, many voices yelling and crying, all of it was too much, sensory overload. The warrior grit his teeth and let out a huff, he was exhausted, both mentally and physically, he didn tknow if he could keep going, but he didn't plan on stopping anytime soon, after all he still had to get this apprentice to safety and he himself planed on seeing his brothers and sisters again...alive. He had been thinking about Redpaws question, and in all honesty he had no clue, although he ruled out a few options. Hills were bad, he didn't plan on getting the two stranded, crawling into the underground tunnels were also bad, they could collapse, crossing the river bad, climbing the bare trees, bad. There was really one way to get out, and it in it's self was dangerous. Blazingsky turned his focus on Redpaw for a moment, his blue optics flickered with unease "Comparing all out options...there's only one way out and even gen it's almost just as dangerous as the rest of the options." he said, skidding to a stop once they got close the the cluster of Shadowclan cats, gathering around the only safe exit. "We're going to have to cross the log if we want to get out. But even then..." he trailed off, his ears flattening as he watched one of his clanmates fall into the raging water below.

(Wildfire and Moon just tagged me, is it alright if they join this Rp? )
The molly turned to look at the tabby for a few seconds, the light coming back to her green eyes. She was brought back to her senses by that one word, that single word. Although it was short it held emotion, emotion that was enough for two cats. The white warrior lashed her tail and jumped out of the muddy water that was as high as half her leg. Sheepface looked at the tom and then quickly looked down at her muddy paws "...Thank you I was.....my mind was....I'm sorry." she whispered, her ears folded back and tears once again pricked at her eyes. How could she have been so selfish? She was about to give up her life just cause she had lost three kits, in fact, that wasn't even true. A miracle had just occurred, she had spotted her son, not Sugarkit, no, the one kit she hadn't expected to see alive. "Lambkit" she cried, her heart racing, she could practically feel it in her throat. She turned to look at Bareblaze and smiled as big as she could muster "If..of it weren't for you then I wouldn't not have....lambkit he would have..." she gave up and just skipped over to the tom and nuzzled his shoulder in thanks.

Re: ShadowClan Evacuation
@Raywood, @Lilly
are you alright with starfall joining in as bumblebear?
Sloshing through the rising water as he neared the entrance to camp, Peachfuzz's gaze scanned the emptying camp. In their panic, cats were scrambling to flee; to follow Goldeneye to safety, and he wondered how many of his kin already left. It did not matter though. Tinyfuzz was his priority, and he continued towards the nursery, where he knew she would be. By now, the water was high enough to cover a standing kit's head, and it was difficult to walk in the combination of sticky ground and moving liquid.
"Tinyfuzz!" he called out her name, glimpsing her light colored fur by the collapsed den. "I am here! Are you okay?" Upon closer examination, his small mate seemed fine-- albeit scared, but that was to be expected. "We need to leave." The sound of Aspenfall's voice caused him to glance in his brother's direction. "We are fine," he assured his younger sibling. "But we need to get out now before we are swept away like the dens." Or the rubble of the den crashes into them. "Come on!" Peachfuzz started back where he had come, looking back to make sure the others were following.
Was the rain StarClan's Tears, weeping for the Sins of the Clans they loved? It was a heart-wrenching thought, knowing that this would not have happened if the Clans were Pure and obeyed their Ancestor's Wishes.

Redpaw quickened her pace as Blazingsky sloshed through the mud, eyes bright with determination despite the mud that clung to her fur, trying to stop her from moving forward. Each push of a forepaw felt ten times as hard, and her muscles strained at the effort to pull herself through. Once they got closer to the exit, it became a little easier to maneuver through the sludge, though the rain that still pelted down from the sky blinded her vision and drowned out her normally good sense of hearing. "There are too many cats trying to escape at once... Not all of us will make it," she murmured, eyes going wide as she surveyed the scene in front of her. Cats were scrambling every which way to get atop the log, that eventually lead out onto higher ground. Some of ShadowClan had already made it and were looking back; others were clawing their way up inch by inch. Terror flooded through her once more as she realize that this might be the last time ShadowClan was a whole. By the time they reached RiverClan, not all of them would be accounted for... She swallowed the lump in her throat and blinked the tears away. "We have to go now."

He winced, blinking the stinging water out from his vision as he used his supporting shoulder to push Feathermist through the worst of the sludge. Each muscle was strained from trying to get them both through and to safety, and his mind whirled with how he could get every cat that needed help out as well. His loyalty to ShadowClan, StarClan, and his family came above everything else, even his own well being, so it was no surprise that the younger warrior was pushing himself to the limit to secure safety for his older sister.
Ears swiveling in the direction of a familiar voice, the Maine Coon breathed a sigh of relief, thanking StarClan as Quietdance appeared. "Quietdance! Over here!" he called, raising his voice above the chaotic storm that swirled on around them. Giving Feathermist one more determined shove - gently, of course - he was able to close the short gap that separated the two and his brother-in-law. "Here, can you get Feathermist to higher ground? I'm going to keep checking around," he huffed, sides heaving as he began to hand the job of supporting the heavily pregnant she-cat over to her mate. Aspenfall exchanged a brief glance with Quietdance, knowing the tom would take good care of his sister, before turning his gaze to Feathermist. "I'll be back soon to check on you, okay?" he promised, giving her a swift, affectionate lick over the ear before he nodded and turned, trying his best to leap through the accumulating mud.

Ashpaw! Ambercrackle!" she called, hoping they could hear her over the storm. Her voice was straining, but she refused to give up on her mate and kits. "Quietdance, Creampaw, Ashpaw, Ambercrackle!" she called again. She kept calling their names, glancing around in-between and searching for her family. They had to be okay. Feathermist wouldn't forgive herself if anything happened to them.

The water wasn't so high where they were, so Quietdance simply nodded towards Aspenfall as the tom left him with his mate. Quietdance turned back to Feathemist giving her a nudge with his muzzle as he sniffed her all over. He made sure to sniff her stomach to make sure that the unborn kits are alright. "Come on, Feathermist." He said, his breathing heavy as he waited for his mate to lean on him. "Ashpaw and Creampaw made it to dry grounds. A little bit of a drizzle, but it's better than this heavy drought." He said, keeping his voice low, but ready to continue to get to their kits. He only hoped that Ambercrackle was also up there.

Although, the reassurance of having her son near-by did help to improve her mood, the adrenaline was still coursing through her paws, alerting her to get out, to escape, but she knew she had to make sure the rest of her family was safe. "I'm alright, I'm alright." Her voice was wavering as she pressed herself against Honeythistle, the rain continuing to pour down around them. Her head was swiveling rapidly around as she tried to catch glimpse of any more family. Jumping slightly as a large crack of lightning lit up the sky, the molly slipped closer towards Honeythistle. It was difficult to hear him, due to the pounding of the rain and screeches filling the clearing, but Cedartuft was able to process what he told her. High ground, Mothflower and her kits. Thank Starclan. Although it seemed petty to have such a thought during such a devastating catastrophe, the senior queen couldn't help but be relieved to hear Mothflower's name. Out of all her sons mates, Mothflower was definitely her favorite and the presence of the other queen would help calm her. Not to mention, having her grandchildren around would also help her feel much better. Taking care of them would take the focus off of herself. She knew her son had seen her frail frame, something she desperately tried to hide from even her mate, but again, all that mattered now was survival.
"Have you seen anyone else? Your father? Brothers? Sisters?" Clinging to the other and entwining her tail with her kit's, Cedartuft slowly lead the other forward, more confident in her steps. They were basically swimming across the rest of the clearing, the water rising around their ankles. The queen cast her gaze downwards as an assault of stinging rain pelted them. It was unrelenting and painful, but only lasted for a second. What had they done to make Starclan so mad? She winced quietly, lifting her head back up to continue their trudge towards the small group. It seemed so far away. So much energy to exert for such a little distance.
"I don't think I'll make it!" She cried out, slowing down significantly than her original pace. It was an empty threat and the maine-coon did continue to climb, but damn was it a struggle. She was caked with mud by the time they made, her breath coming heavy and strained. Her lungs were bursting, they felt as if the were on fire, but at least she had some inkling of safety as mother and son made it. Taking a deep long breath, Cedartuft stumbled away from Honeythistle and over next to Mothflower, crumpling to the ground like a wet piece of paper. Spitting a mouthful of mud, she lifted her face up to the sky, letting the liquid slowly begin to wash away the gooey substance.

She had been sleeping when the deputy had called out to the clan and only woke up a few minutes after. She wasn't sleeping through the whole thing, even she could sleep through a flood, but her copious amounts of white fur had soaked up what seemed to be a river's worth of water the moment she'd stepped out of the warrior's den. The sodden molly struggled desperately against the water lapping at her long belly fur, the mud that seemed to grab hold of her paws and tug at her with enough force to drag her down to the Dark Forest, and the driving wind that flung daggers of rain into her eyes. I hope Sheepface is alright. The she-cat worried inwardly, not sure of her sister's whereabouts. Cloudstrike wanted to stay and help any cat in need, but her heavy, wet coat would just get in the way. Besides, she suddenly realized she was a cat in need.
The squelch of mud sucking at her paws when she lifted them was getting hard to hear over the thunder and general shaking of her world. Shivers wracked her body as her dense fur insulated the water and cold. Suddenly, Cloudstrike lost her balance as a particularly stubborn patch of mud refused to release her fur. The reeling wind managed to rid the snowy warrior of the last of her balance and she tumbled forward into the muck. Her face landed in the mud and it splashed into her eyes, blinding her. Oh Starclan! She gasped silently, as the sticky mud clung to the fur of her legs and belly. It was hard to even see the white of her fur under all the mud, and for Cloudstrike, it was hard to see anything at all. She tried to wipe the mud away from her eyes, but her paws were covered in the same disgusting brown substance.
Is this how blind cats always feel? She wondered, adjusting her position. The she-cat had the attention span of a flea and was no longer concerned with the storm. Seems impossible for a cat to forget about a flood happening around her, but that was Cloudstrike. Hmm, maybe my other senses are heightened now! She thought excitedly, straining her ears to hear of any way to safety. All she heard was the crashing of thunder, whipping of branches, wailing of cats, and splashing of water. Guess I can't hear my way to safety, she thought, undeterred, I know! I'll try my nose. The she-cat tried to smell the air, but the rain blocked out all other smells. She tried opening her mouth to let scents reach her scent-glands, but that was a bad idea. She just ended up with a mouthful of mud. "Yuck!" She hissed, spitting out the mud. What now? She thought to herself, until she felt an itch on her muzzle, Aw, now my muzzle is itchy and I can't scratch it! Her muddy paws would just end up transferring more mud to her face, which definitely wouldn't be a good thing. The scatterbrained warrior continued to try and think her way out of her situation, but it was hard with her itch constantly interrupting her thoughts.
And those were the thoughts of the snowy warrior as she sat, trapped in a mud puddle in the middle of a flooding camp.

Honeythistle kept close to his mother, guiding her towards Mothflower and the kits. At least where they were, the water wasn't very high. The tom kept pace with his mother, hearing her words of unbelief. He didn't know what to say about it, and he bit down a growl that she was going to make it. Why wouldn't she? Honeythistle held such a high confidence--knowing that Starclan loved him too much to allow any tragedy to happen to his family. But, as they trekked him, him keeping his tail wrapped firmly against his own mother's tail--they did make. They both were safe, and most of the flood had been left behind them. He scanned around the area, his eyes landing on his kits and mate. Even though there was a light drizzle, the tom heaved himself up, shaking himself like a dog and and spluttering the water to other places around him. Once that was finished, his fur was ruffled. Almost making him look like a spiked ball, but for now he didn't care for such. The tom watched as his mother went towards Mothflower. He checked over the others, emitting out a deep breath. Gosh! He was tired! His bones were aching, but he didn't give up. Sunrisedapple gently put Twilightkot down, nosing her for a moment before she got up and went over to her grandmother. "Here...let me warm up." Her voice was soft--like she always used to ranks above her own, yet Sunrisedapple held a lot of respect for her grandmother, and she knew how much Cedartuft meant to Honeythistle. So, cautiously she began to lick the senior queen, hoping to at least dry or warm her up a bit.
Honeythistle stepped forward, giving his own fur a couple licks. He padded towards the small she kit, bending his head down to sniff her over. Carefully he gave Twilightkit a couple warm licks, hoping to warm her up. He could tell she must have been cold, hoping to be in a warm best and nursing from her mother. Honeythistle wanted his nursing mates to be settled within warm moss with the kits at their stomach. His heart had ached knowing it was a long while before anything ever became safe, so the tom continued to wash her in licks. Then, he lifted his head. "Royalflash try to keep everything in order while I'm gone. I'm guessing Crimsonblaze and Ferretfrost are with Strawberrythorn--I'm praying to Starclan that they are safe," he tells his son, then turns to his mother. "I haven't seen any of my siblings--or, dad. I'm going back. I have to make sure my own family is out of this chaos." He blinked before hopping right back in the dreadful situation.
It probably wasn't smart for him to hop back into the predictament, but the large Maine coon was hoping that his mates and kits made it to safety. Rosenose couldn't be in this fray. The water would be too much for her to bear when her stomach is heavy with kits. Aside from that, Strawberrythorn just had a litter of small ones. Flykit and Palekit just had to be safe--just had to! His fur was heavily drenched as he tried his best to swim through everything. He spluttered out water, avoided any cat that was in his way. When he saw a large branch in the distance, the tom ducked his head for a moment, allowing the fallen branch to past before he lifted his head, desperate for air. He surveyed the other yowling cats, trying to see if he could spot any of his own loves or his little ones in sight. Honeythistle prayed to Starclan that he wouldn't see any of them. After all, that would be a bad thing. Yet, he feared that they possibly didn't make it. "Nope!" He breathes heavily, spitting out water every now and then as it tries to get into his nose and mouth, but soon he changed the course, trying to find shallow water to run along. He managed to less water, but it was a more muddy area. He trekked on though, finding family matters more imprortant than the feeling of a cleanly pelt.
The mid was thick, that was the first thing that came to his mind. His paws stomped through the dirty substance, but he carried a determined look on his face. Scents were mingled, but he had to make sure that everyone--meaning his own family were safe. He couldn't care less about other disgraces of the clan, but as he continued on, he didn't notice another cat within his path. The tom caught himself as he almost slipped into the muddier source. He grimaced at seeing the other cat. What an unfortunate situation for...who were they? Honeythistle leaned his head down for a moment, tilting his head. "What are you waiting for? A cat from Starclan to save you?" His voice was rough, deep. He sounded like he had better things to do--in which he did, but seeing someone in need? Sure, he would walk away. Honeythistle didn't care about many others, but this cat was in his way. "You need help?" He asked. His coat was already dirty and drenched, and his tail was heavy, almost weighing him down. But his muscles rippled as he stood there, panting for a second. Why did he even think that? Obviously the feline needed help, and Honeythistle could tell this, but he didn't want to get in that muddy bath. He was already too dirty for his liking. "Come on, I'll bring you to safety." He grunted. "Hurry up! Before I change my mind." He muttered. He wasn't usually this mean, but he was agitated. He was worried about his family, but it wasn't in his heart to leave others to die...most of the time.

Feathermist nuzzled her mate's shoulder for a bit. She had been so worried. The drenched she-cat leaned on Quietdance lightly as they moved to safer grounds, hoping to Starclan that Ambercrackle was okay. "You're sure Ashpaw and Creampaw got to safety?" she asked quickly, glancing back behind the couple.

Cloudstrike was drawn out of her thoughts by a gruff voice. She moved her head to look up at the stranger and could just see a maine coon tom through the mud around her eyes. He asked her if she needed help and the molly looked around her, "It appears so..." She said in her usual dreamy voice, "wait...or do I. Maybe I'm meant to be here." The molly fell silent, pondering that for a moment. Did she really need saving? Was this mud real or just a sign that something in her life was holding her back? Wow, Starclan really is mysterious! She thought with awe. The tom's grunted words stormed into her ears, igniting the touchy she-cat's temper.
"Now that is no way to talk to a fellow cat!" She scolded in a loud voice that was quite the contrast from her earlier flowy, dreamy tone. "I know we are in the middle of a crisis here, but that's no excuse for you to throw manners into the river! Now imagine if every cat did that. We'd all be trampling each other on the way out! That wouldn't help very many cats, would it?" Cloudstrike pulled at her paws angrily, the squelching of the mud accentuating her angry words. Her fur would have bristled, but it seemed the rain and mud had flattened it and was dragging on it so hard that it couldn't rise up. That's odd. I wonder how that happened. Is this how Riverclan cats feel all the time? Is this how fish feel? I don't know if I'd like being a fish if this is how they feel. Then again I guess I shouldn't judge them since I don't really know what their life is like. You do you, fish. Her mind scrambled in dozens of different directions, intertwining like a bundle of fur, but suddenly, a big fat raindrop landed squarely on her mud-caked nose and the warrior was reminded of her anger.
Cloudstrike shifted again and craned her neck upwards to sort of see the tom she was talking to. "You know, cats like you make me so angry!" Cloudstrike continued with her rant, "You think you are the only cat that matters so you can just be rude to everyone else, but you never know what's going on in another cat's life, buddy! You could be the push that sends a cat off a cliff into darkness or the push that moves them back onto stable ground. All it takes is a smile or a frown!" With that, she realized she'd just judged the tom and the warrior's thoughts scrambled once more, "Oh, but I shouldn't say that. I don't really know anything about you. Fine, maybe you don't just care about yourself, but you were quite rude! And I think you could stand to learn a thing or two about manners but if you need somecat to talk to about the feelings that led you to be rude to me, I'm always here to talk to. I may not know who you are, but I can help you." The she-cat's brain suddenly focused on her anger again, and Cloudstrike finished her rant with, "But not right now. I'm still angry with you."
Cloudstrike had managed to get out her entire rant over the sounds of the building storm. Water was starting to lap at her chin due to the mud getting her stuck close to the ground. But the she-cat hardly noticed, she'd managed to talk and think her way to completely forgetting about the storm raging around her.

Re: ShadowClan Evacuation
@ starfall
(oh, yeah, i don't mind!)
As he saw the light of realization spark to life in her green eyes, he felt relief wash over him. "Don't thank me," he responded, "I'd have to be a very cold cat to just leave you like that. He lifted his front paws one after the other, feeling the mud become stuck in the long, tangly fur on his legs. "Don't apologize, either, there's nothing to apologize for." He gave her a smile, which disappeared as an expression of confusion replaced it when she called out a kit's name. He glanced around, following her green gaze to the kit he assumed was a son of hers. The smile he saw from the white molly brought his own back, and gave her a nuzzle in return. He didn't say anything towards her last statement for a few moments, before giving a simple reply: "I'm glad to have helped." He followed the response with an overdue introduction. "My name is Bearblaze."

(that... pun.... *dead*)
"I can help if you need. D-Do you need to lean on me?" Her stuttering was quite bad, and she must've been freezing. The water had soaked through his own coat as well after his swim, and he layed there a little longer, feeling the warm pelt of the warrior beside him. After a moment, though, he got up. "We should get to following the rest of the Clan," he mewed tiredly, "So, what to you say?" He was referring to his earlier offer. He backed up a bit, before shaking his dripping pelt out as not to hit Fallenfeather with even more water, before he returned to his previous spot. The shake hadn't done much, but it had helped ever so slightly.
