Gullpaw snorted. "From your muzzle to Snowpaw's ears. You're right, though. Darkpaw," he added, testing out the name. It was...suitable. "Like I said, she'll get there. It's just a matter of if I claw her ears off first or not."
He blinked as he realized he hadn't actually introduced himself either. "Uh, and I'm Gullpaw. Nice to meet you".

Dark'Paw looked at him before speaking."Well, Gull'Paw I guess it's nice to meet you too... Considering your surprisingly different from other cats I have met, less annoying to be exact". She said bluntly as she thought about it, her facial expression was blank.

he followed her, hesitantly, but he honestly should’ve expected dappledghost to take the lead. it was his plan to escort her out of camp, but of course, she stole his thunder. smirking inwardly, the warrior wobbled beside her. his leg was still bad from the previous war, but it barely bothered him. once they were at a comfortable pace and far away enough from the clearing, chestnut cleared his throat. now...what to say? his eyes wandered the greenery around them, admiring the dappled morning light. it was a rarity to enjoy small moments like this - he wished he could wander more. his green irises eventually fell back up at dappledghost, inspecting the faded colorful patterns along her face and backside. granted, she was a gorgeous molly, no doubt. surely she knew that herself. when he felt he was...staring, the warrior withdrew his gaze and immediately piped up. “so um, how’s life treating you lately?” he stature tried to meet her own (she was very tall compared to him). “are you...happy?” he wanted to simply ask how she was. you know, like 'how are you'. so much for that plan.

all the water that had splashed around slithered back into the river, her eyes following the trail it left. she then sat down and turned back to oakflame. "so," rosewater began, "what do you want to do now?"

dappledghost admired the scenery. the air felt light as she walked, paws bouncing off of the snow covered ground effortlessly as they walked. the greens of the tree leaves that decided to stay stuck out against the pure white trails. they were bright against the sun; and dappledghost had come to the conclusion that they reminded her of chestnuts eyes. she was taken back by the question at first, remaining quiet. "happiness is a very interpretive emotion," she answered. in reality, she didnt really... know. she did the same thing almost every day, the same routine, minus chestnut coming into her life recently. she was a hard molly to impress; therefor happiness was hard to gain. "but, life for me has been rather plain. youre possibly one of my main source of happiness. not because im a sad person, but life just... is what it is, perhaps i dont find joy in the small things like i used to,"she answered honestly. she wasnt sad, but like anyone she had her baggage. growing up she had standards placed for her, her whole life planned out. it made her hard to impress, hard to find joy, because it seemed nothing ade her standards. but chestnutfall had not been apart of her plan, and perhaps thats why she found so much joy when with him. "you?"

Pebbleflame smiled back. He took her answer as a yes, tending to stick to the positive side, unlike his brother, who was such a worrywart. He sat down next to the molly and licked her fur slowly, the wrong way round to warn her up. He decided to mumble out a conversation. "Nice day, isn't it? Especially after the battle"

Pebbleflame nodded. He needed to find something interesting to talk about. "I haven't seen you around camp before. Probably my memory" He flicked his ears, amused, and continued licking the molly's fur. He didn't have the greatest memory of any cat.

He had once met the medicine cat in the territory, Heatherfur was her name if he remembered correctly. A pleasant cat; however the dark tom was more so interested with the leader. He's heard whispers of the tom and was thoroughly interested in speaking with him himself. Hannibal wanted to know what kind of tom this leader was, he wanted an in-depth analysis of the personality; truthfully he wanted that of all the leaders. As well as to document information on how their apparent nine lives worked, however he'd save that for later in the future.
For now, the dark grey tom settled himself in Riverclan's territory. Either a patrol would come by and take him to the leader, or he'd meet the leader alone out here, regardless, he was going to get to Fallenstar. So, sitting down, the former Dusk Syndicate tom would survey the territory. He was already getting a good feel for the layout after journeying in multiple times. Why, just the other day he had killed an apprentice that strayed beyond the borders. He was fairly certain her disappearance hadn't been noted yet. They wouldn't be able to find the body for obvious reasons.
' Leaders often take journeys out into their territories alone or at least with a patrol. After all, that's how I met the Skyclan leader, and that's how I met this clans medicine cat. It's safe to assume that eventually the leader himself will journey out here.' Hannibal thought to himself, justifying his reasoning for simply sitting there instead of actively trying to flag down a patrol. ' If he's aggressive and rude right off the bat, I'll have to conduct my experiment early. Lets hope he isn't.'
|
Why was it that sketchy felines suddenly found Riverclans borders to be the perfect to hang about and scare his apprentices? The fluffy tom strode towards the spot where his apprentices claimed they saw a "brown scary feline." Once the mystery feline was spotted the ebony tom narrowed his eyes and perked his ears, listening in case he had some buddies lurking about. "What are you doing on the Riverclan Border?" Fallenstar bellowed, giving the brown tom a look over before approaching. At this point the Riverclan leader was a fox length away from Hannibal, lapis optics swimming with curiosity and worry. Last time some mystery feline was lurking around their borders he declared he would kill his own brother, and demanded that he be appointed deputy afterwards. He was kind of expecting this one to claim he'd kill Blazingstar himself, but then demand the Leader position. "If you're looking to join Riverclan, we are still rebuilding our clan, no newcomers."

If he couldn’t get it on the first try, what was the point of getting anywhere at all? Then again, Ploverpaw was probably a terrible hunter because he was horrible at paying attention. He got distracted too easily; an example being now as the tom rather go in circles each time his paw left prints below him. He was quite fascinated by it greatly.

Hunting was boring. And tiring. The last place Swanpaw wanted to be was out here, in the cold, practicing something she was already good at. Her mentor had said she was good at it, right? She was fine! ”This is idiotic. What am I doing out here, why shouldn’t I just go back? He’ll never know, anyways. Stupid, stubborn old-” Swanpaw cut herself off as soon as she caught sight of another pelt through the trees. The tom looked young (possibly an apprentice, maybe around her age) and looked like he was focusing on something that she couldn’t see. As she got closer, she stopped suddenly, realizing he was… chasing his own tail? What was he doing? All she could see was that he was going around in circles, zeroed in on something on the ground. Better than hunting, she thought with a shrug, settling in to watch this crazy tom. Who knows, maybe he’ll actually be interesting. At least I’m not being forced to do something stupid. I’m doing what I want to do. It wasn’t her first choice, not by a long shot, but StarClan forbid she should have to do any actual work. She was naturally talented, wasn’t she? Her mentor had said that. True, it was to get her to stop sulking about failing (this was a long time ago, when she’d first started training) but that didn’t make it any less true!

Breezepaw leapt over Ploverpaw out of nowhere, but quickly screeching to a stop after realizing Ploverpaw was there. "Hey, Ploverpaw! How are you? Are you trying to hunt? Seemed like it!"

He knew he'd get stopped any time now by a Shadowclan patrol, and most likely attacked like before. He bore the mark of the Thunderclan cat's claws on his shoulder. Great, as if he wasn't already ragged enough.
Thorn was growing exhausted and hungry. He determined he should just go along and hunt. It wouldn't matter anyways, the cunning and prideful cats of this clan could tear him to shreds even if he was in better shape by their sheer numbers.
Thorn dropped into a low crouch and followed the sent of a mouse. He treaded lightly on the grass, trying not to alert the mouse. In the back of his mind he gnawed on a worry- it was only a matter of time before the warriors of this clan would find him.

Breezepaw was nearby, following the same mouse scent. He wasn't hard to see, considering his tail was sticking upward.

Which wasn’t unusual for how sweet natured she could be. Albeit, most times her natural kindness was easy to take advantage of since she had a peculiar sense of naivety of a small kit, curious and observant all the same. She made footprints in the snow, a light breeze ruffled her fur up the wrong way and she refused to succumb to the shiver. Dandelionglow thought it was the perfect time to hunt. She wasn’t very good at it, especially not in these weather conditions, but she would try. Her ears flicked casually, snowflakes dropping from them.
She padded slowly through the snow, her jaws parted when the scent of something familiar wafted into her nose, but since she wasn’t all that great at hunting, she kinda had a hard time distinguishing the scents of different prey. It was really hard for her and she didn’t know why. With the snow, it didn’t make it all the better. So, when she assumed she smell mice, she recklessly powered through to try and clamp her jaws around the critter, but ended up missing the killing blow. She almost cried out in frustration. So many cats made hunting seem like a no big deal but it was certainly a big deal for this beaming ray of sunshine. And, that mouse she thought it was? It wasn’t even a mouse.
|
Breezepaw landed on his back right next to Dandelionglow out of nowhere. It seemed like he was trying to get up a tree. Breezepaw spotted Dandelionglow and jumped up, a nervous look clear in his eyes. Breezepaw backed away a bit.

A white and black blur ran by Thorn, chasing a Shadowclan apprentice who was holding a mouse in their jaws. The white and black tom easily caught up with the apprentice, and snatched the mouse away. "Stealing is no way to hunt, you Fox-heart." snapped the tom, holding the mouse by its tail.
