Mistykit bounded into the apprentices den looking for someone interesting, she wanted to play with someone old. Her pale-blue fur spiking as she almost slammed into someone, her paws skidded to a stop. She looks up, “sorry!” She yelped.

Jumping up and hitting the ball of moss at Mistykit with his paws the fluffy tom-kit laughed his tail swishing. His fur was fluffed up with excitement as he smile and laughed.

Fallownose had been lying in wait, crouched in the grass with only his ears poking above the tips as he waited for Lilacdawn to scare the rabbits down the hill. The second she did he darted out, long legs easily covering the ground towards the rabbit that was closer to his side. It swerved to the side and the tom easily followed, zig-zagging back and forth across the slope as he gained on it. Finally he was able to reach out a paw and hook the rabbits feet out from under it, sending it tumbling across the ground.

Fallownose pounced, pinning it to the ground and giving it a quick bite to the neck to end its life. His sides were heaving, although it was with the adrenaline and thrill of the chase rather than true exhaustion. It had been a while since he'd been able to run full out like that after prey and the warrior had almost forgotten how exhilarating it was. It was freedom in every sense of the word and he wouldn't give it up for anything.

He bent down to pick up the rabbit in his jaws before turning to look back at Lilacdawn and Silentpaw to see how they were doing. Hopefully one of them had managed to catch the second rabbit, although at least they had this one. It would hopefully be large enough to give to the queens and kits in the nursery.
