Re: RiverClan Territory

It was easy to sense the apprentice's eagerness and honestly, Frostflight was excited to get going as well. "We can leave right now! I don't think there's anything else I need to mention right off the bat." He meowed, taking a moment to remember if there was anything else. Nope... nothing came to mind. With a confident nod of his head, Frostflight flicked his tail for the apprentice to follow as he began to pace out of the camp entrance. "I'm sure you already know, but this here -" The tom cat squeezed through the reedy entrance before continuing, " - is the entrance and exit to camp. I don't recommend going out any other way, trust me, I've tried." And with a final glance back to make sure Ravenpaw was still following behind, the warrior continued his way into the territory.

Ravenpaw tipped her head to the side just slightly as she made her way after him. "Why would you have tried?" she asked, though as soon as her eyes landed on the territory outside of camp they rounded, and all she could focus on was taking in as much as she could. Her fur rose slightly, and she felt a cool, salt-scented breeze comb its way through her fur, making the corners of her lips twitch into what could have been a smile.

Re: RiverClan Territory
Kestrelpaw exited camp, walking into the territory. Though his jolly additude quickly faded as he saw a river, rolling his eyes in disgust. Water, was just so...e w, in Kestrels opinion. He couldn't believe his mother actually liked it! Let alone love it!
Flicking his tail, his ears perked up, smelling a familiar scent. Speak of the devil, he looked around, not seeing the molly anywhere. "Mom?" He inquired with genuine confusion, wanting to know if it was actually her or not. His gaze slowly fell back on the river with a shiver running down his spine. The brown apprentice backed up a bit, scrunching up his nose.

The warrior remained silent for a brief moment as he seemingly led them to nowhere in particular. Though, in his mind, he had planned their entire course, heading first for the Thunderclan border. "I didn't like being in camp much as an apprentice, but my mentor wasn't keen on letting me out of camp by myself. Dangerous animals and rogues." It was the short and simple version of it and though not necessarily a lie, there was no need to relay any serious information... The last thing Frostflight wanted to talk about was his past, so Ravenpaw would have to settle for that. "There's a few brambles layered right outside of the camp." The feline meowed simple, his whiskers twitching in amusement. "Anyway, that doesn't matter, tell me, what do you want to learn as an apprentice? What are you most interested in?" Hopefully Ravenpaw would understand the question. Frostflight just wanted to get a general idea of where to start with her training - as this was his first apprentice. Keeping a relatively slow pace, the silver tabby's paws went from squishing into the marshy terrain of Riverclan to the more stable forest floor welcomed them as they neared the Thunderclan border.

"yes darling?" applebloom responded, padding down toward the river. she put a paw in, looking excitedly at the water. "such nice water!" she exclaimed before retrieving her paw from the rushing blue waters. why does he hate water? am i disciplining him wrong? AM I A BAD PARENT? the warrior thought, glancing over at kestrelpaw, her hydrophobic son. she patted a shell in the midst of the glistening undergrowth, walking up to her son's side. "why don't you like the water? the water is your f r i e n d," applebloom said, lengthening the word 'friend' so the idea would get through kestrelpaw's brain, and not go from one ear out the other.

Re: RiverClan Territory

Mintflower's icy gaze took notice of Frostflight's discontent at the mention of Windclan - she too would have despised the word had it not been for the Windclan peacemakers she'd fought alongside. Windclan, Riverclan...they're all names, really. We're all cats deep down, who you chose to follow defines you more than the territory you reside in. Mintflower was a passionate she-cat, and she truly did love her clan deeply; she would have died a kit had it not been for the kindness of Riverclan. But she wouldn't allow her honour and pride to dissolve into mad hatred for the other clans; not all other clan cats had fought to drive them out of their home, and she knew many who had fought to help them return. Home Mintflower had doubted her place in Riverclan before the war, but as her pale gaze searched the marshy territory the young molly simply couldn't imagine residing anywhere else. This truly was her home. "Yeah, we've really been blessed with all the prey..." She responded, absentmindedly, ears perking up at his comment about swimming as a small giggle escaped her. "That is true, we are renowned swimmers, but I would absolutely love to see a Skyclan cat try and catch a fish! I'm sure there are Riverclan kits who would be more successful!" She joked, her own laughter intertwining with the sounds of the forest - birds chirping, trees rustling in the wind, water trickling. It was nature's most beautiful symphony, and the pale molly could happily listen to it on repeat for the rest of her life. She paused to inspect an unusual smell that lingered on a low-lying tree branch, her small legs struggling to hold her up to reach it. It took her a while, but eventually, she deduced it to be a type of bird - she couldn't name it, but she'd smelt it before. Must not be common in our territory... She searched her brain for the name, but came up empty, and quickly gave up on the search - it wasn't a threat, so it didn't matter all that much. Mintflower didn't have a particular fancy for birds, anyway. Her face remained scrunched up in a funny sort of fashion, like a kit still getting used to the scents of Riverclan's territory.

Disgust filled his eyes as his mother spoke. Friend? Water? No way! "Nope! Water...Water is nasty, and scary!"
He exclaimed with wide eyes,Kestrelpaw shaking his head. The young toms fur bristled seeing water drip from appleblooms paw, cringing slightly.

Ravenpaw's ears flicked in a somewhat surprised manner at his question. She hadn't thought about what she wanted to learn - she had figured that it was all up to the mentor, and what they would decide to teach her she would have to learn. "...I haven't thought about it," she admitted. She went silent for a few, long moments, considering. "Maybe... hunting?" it came out sounding unsure, even though she did like the idea of being able to provide for her Clan herself.

Frostflight nodded in understanding, able to pick up on the hesitancy in her voice. "Hunting is a good place to start," his own voice cool and relaxed. "I think we'll start off with that and obviously I'll teach you a few defensive moves - just for protection until we get into serious battle training." The tom lifted his muzzle towards the sky, which had now become covered by a canopy of large oaks. The rays of sunlight poked through the branches illuminating the forest floor, sparkling every so often as the wind buffeted the trees. Admiring the view for a brief moment, Frostflight stuck a single paw out to motion for Ravenpaw to stop. If she was able to smell it, the scent around them was musky, similar to the scent of dead leaves or dried moss. "This is Thunderclan's border." Frostflight spoke softly, his icy gaze turned to look at Raven. "We share a border with mostly Thunderclan and Windclan, though Shadowclan has a small portion along our border. Honestly, to me Shadowclan and Thunderclan smell quite similar." It was useless information, well, only his babbling - though the warrior's hackles raised slightly at the mention of Shadowclan and Windclan. It had been a long time since he had willingly gone anywhere near the borders... other than border patrols that is. "Now," His meow was sharp, "Relax, take a moment and breathe in. Tell me what you smell."

As requested, Ravenpaw opened her jaws to taste the air, though rather than relax her eyes narrowed in concentration. For just a moment, she thought about if she had been born in ThunderClan instead of RiverClan. The thought of being surrounded by so many towering trees, constantly in a closed-in space made her fur start to slowly rise, but she forced her pelt to lie flat and focused on her task. “It smells drier than it does here,” she meowed slowly, still processing. “So they probably don’t have as much water as we do in the forest, but I think they have more moss than we do, since I can smell that, too. And there’s some prey scents too, but they don’t smell very fresh.” Once she finished, she looked up at Frostflight, waiting for him to tell her what he thought about her list of scents.

The silver tabby nodded slowly as Ravenpaw listed off each scent. "Not half bad!" He praised gently, ushering the apprentice to follow after him as he moved closer to the scent border. The strong border line of Thunderclan made the feline scrunch up his nose in partial disgust - not too keen on the smell. "If you can scent it through Thunderclan," Frostflight pointed his tail to the large roots of a nearby tree, "There's old fox-scent there, but it's long gone by now." Lifting his muzzle once more towards the sky, the warrior tasted nothing suspicious, though he wouldn't trouble himself right now. This was meant to be a tour for Ravenpaw, not a glorified border patrol! "Alright then, let's keep moving, we have tons to see." And with that, Frostflight trotted alongside the border as a steady pace, heading for the Shadowclan border.
