Spiritpaw knew that she was the only good option for deputy, but she didn't want to embarrass the other warriors when Morningstar chose her, so she didn't step forward. Instead, she began to yodel and stamp, a fierce expression fixed on her constantly goofy face. "FOGICE! FOGICE!" She wanted a cool name like that someday. Maybe she'd be Spiritice. Or Spiritmist? Whatever it was, that'd be her and she'd be so cool and then she'd rule the entire forest cause that's how it worked. Also, she was, like, totally going to sneak into the forest cause now she couldn't get in trouble.

Cougarbite purred slightly when his name was mentioned and he was praised. But he internally froze when she brought up Flowerkit. He took a deep breath thought and made no physical external sign that he felt anything towards this thought as to keep himself safe.

When she brought up the deputy thing, he held his head high. He may be a 10 moon old but he is a warrior and has an apprentice so he is technically a viable candidate and he would do his best to prove that.

The young warrior listened to Dawnstar attentatively, keeping his position by his new (reluctant) apprentice. “Frigidmist, Frigidmist, Frigidmist!” he yowled in unison with the others, encouragingly. New warriors were always exciting. His mood was quickly dampened, though, by the mention of the outsider intrusion and Flowerkit’s injury. Rapidscorch had been the one to find his niece after Dappledleaf alerted him and Larkfire of her absence. The memory of the kit out in the territory was enough to make his lip curl in anger. Whoever hurt his youngest family member would be punished for it, which he would personally see to if need be. The fact that an outsider had been bold enough to sneak into camp - Shadowclan, of all clans! - was honestly insulting, and damaged Rapidscorch’s pride. They would not get away with the crime.

He almost missed the comment about the search for a deputy, and it took him a moment to register her closing remark. His notched ears perked slightly, and he had a brief mental tangent involving him pursuing the position. But it seemed unlikely in his mind that Dawnstar would select him. It would be almost comical for him to stand beside the seasoned leader, really. But it was an entertaining thought just the same.

We are lucky she's not dead.

Flowerkit had certainly not been expecting Dawnstar to bring up her little... midnight kidnapping attack, but she found herself visibly flinching at the words. She was lucky she wasn't dead. Her mama would've been furious. Not really wanting to relive any of the memories of being dragged out in the dead of night and beaten up, the wounded tripod hopped back to the medicine den, making a mental note to make her rounds and say hi to her family later. She had missed Rue and Pop and Sunflower and Larkie and Uncle Rapid and Mama so much in the past few days.

"Frigidmist!" Excited for the new warrior she couldn't wait till she stood up there, becoming a warrior.

Her voice was quieter than the rest of the clan, but she still called out the new warriors name as a sign of respect
" Frigidmist!"

Icebeam cheered for Frigidmist as a sign of respect. She let out a soft growl when the kitnapping was mentioned. What if it was me and Beansprout's kits? she thought with a shiver of worry. Icebeam didn't have kits, but she also didn't know if Beansprout was expecting. When the topic of the deputy was mentioned, her icy eyes glinted with ambition in the light. Yes. If she did end up getting chosen, she'd be happy. But if she didn't, she knew why. Her prefix was the same as the previous leader's, Icestar, so if she became Icestar II then that would basically be spitting on her grave.

The silver tabby decided to keep her mouth shut, because if she said she wanted the position, Dawnstar would shred her. But if nobody spoke up, ShadowClan would have a deputy who did nothing but sit on their privileged asses all day. And that was not what was needed. ShadowClan needed a strong and trustworthy deputy. Icebeam was young, only 32 moons, but she would be ready to serve the clan if chosen.

Frigidmist. That was her name now. It was a bit unexpected. The new warrior was already racking her brain to find Dawnstar's intent behind it. Her grandmother's warning did not go unheard, and she gulped quietly.

Retreating back into the crowd, Frigidmist listened to the rest of the meeting. Traitors and stuff. What really caught her eye was that the deputy position was open. She wanted to be leader one day, so badly. But she was probably too young for Dawnstar's consideration. She'd not been a mentor yet.

Spottedrose listened to the rest of the speech and her ears twitched. The Windclan affair made her cringe slightly although she didn’t make any comments, despite feeling the fur on a few cats bristle up at the mention. At the mention of ‘deputy’, however, all thoughts were cleared from her head as she watched the leader jump down and looked down at her paws. Well, this seemed to be a good opportunity for her then. With that, the she-cat moved swiftly through the crowd and away into the direction of the warriors den.

Spiderheart

Spiderheart cheered out the new warrior's name. "Fridgidmist! Fridgidmist!" She called out in choir with the others. "She's gotten a very nice name" Spiderheart thought to herself, happy for the young she-cat. Some of Dawnstar's other news however, weren't as cheerful. She felt quite bad for Foxtooth's fate but, in the end he was disloyal to the clan. She'd rather not think about that, actually. Hearing about a rouge that had snuck in and injured one of the kits didn't really scare her, it just filled her with rage. What right did a ratty excuse of a cat think he had to just walk right in here? Her tail swung angrily from side to side at the thought. However as soon as the black molly heard her leader speak of a new deputy, she redirected her attention at Dawnstar. Spiderheart didn't say anything, though. The deputy rank was really something desireable, and she was ambitious about it of course. In the end though, she knew it'd mean a lot of responsibility and she didn't believe she was skilled enough for that role just yet. So she left the thought at that, quickly glancing over the other cats. Which one of them seemed like a good fit for deputy? She hoped it'd be someone who took their role seriously, at least.

A knot a fear twisted inside his stomach. That could have been him, at some point, caught sneaking out of camp to meet to meet a lover in ThunderClan. But he hadn't. He had been too afraid and hadn't met up at their appointed time. Now he was glad. He was loyal to his clan.


Ambition burned fierce in his eyes as Dawnstar announced that there was to be a new deputy. That was the rank of his dreams. All thought of Willowlight was roughly and forcefully ejected from his mind, leaving only determination, excitement, and something else that he couldn't put his paw on.
